Russian business should ‘cooperate’ with Musk – Putin

The president suggested that the billionaire will return to science after reforming the US government and encouraged cooperation with him

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russian companies should cooperate with Elon Musk once the billionaire completes his role in reforming the US government and shifts his focus back to science.

Speaking at the Forum of Future Technologies in Moscow on Friday, Putin spoke with Gazprombank deputy chairman Dmitry Zauers while reviewing new technological developments. The president was shown asoft biocompatible matrixthat could be used to find and prevent damage to areas of the cerebral cortex, such as speech zones, during open tumor removal surgeries.

Zauers described this new technology as Russia’s answer to Musk, whose Neuralink company is also working on developing brain implants.

Putin was also shown anew type of batterybeing developed in Russia which is intended to be used in robotics, space systems, diving equipment and for theconstruction of autonomous stationary objects. Zauers said this was Russia’s “second answer” to Musk.

During the presentation, the President suggested that Musk’s future work in science could present opportunities for Russian enterprises. “[Musk] will finish reforming the administrative bodies in the US and then get back down to business - science. You should cooperate with him,” Putin told Zauers. “We have agreed to work together in space, and we can work here too,”he added.

The Gazprom official responded by suggesting that Russian batteries could be installed in SpaceX spacecraft, noting that theenergy capacity of the batteries used in Musk’s rockets is 10% less than those designed in Russia.

Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Neuralink, has been at the forefront of private space exploration and brain-computer interface research. SpaceX has been developing reusable rockets, while Neuralink has been working on implantable brain-machine interfaces intended to assist individuals with neurological conditions.

Since Donald Trump’s return to office last month, Musk has taken on an advisory role in the White House, assisting its efforts in reducing federal spending. The Trump administration has recently clarified in legal filings that Musk does not actually hold a formal government position and serves as an external adviser.

US threatens to shut down Starlink in Ukraine – Reuters

Washington is reportedly considering using the satellite technology as leverage in bargaining about mineral reserves

US officials have warned that they could block Ukraine from using Elon Musk’s Starlink internet terminals if Kiev doesn’t grant access to its critical mineral reserves, Reuters reported on Saturday, citing three people familiar with the matter.

Musk, a major ally of US President Donald Trump, has donated more than 40,000 internet terminals since 2022, which have been widely used by Ukrainian troops on the battlefield.

According to Reuters, during a meeting between Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky and Trump’s envoy, Keith Kellogg, in Kiev on Thursday, the Ukrainians were told that they faced an “imminent shutoff” of Starlink’s satellite service if they did not sign a deal on critical minerals with the US.

“Ukraine runs on Starlink. They consider it their North Star,” a source told Reuters, adding that losing the service “would be a massive blow.”

In an effort to ensure further military aid from the US, Zelensky has pitched Trump a preferential partnership in developing Ukraine’s resources, including rare-earth minerals. However, he refused to sign an agreement that would have granted the US ownership of 50% of the nation’s mineral wealth. “I cannot sell our country,” he said on Wednesday.

Trump’s national security adviser, Mike Waltz, said that Kiev’s reaction was “unacceptable” and advised Ukrainian officials to “tone it down” and sign the minerals deal.

Both Trump and Musk ramped up their criticism of Zelensky earlier this week, branding him “a dictator” and claiming that he is deeply unpopular at home. The US president argued that Ukraine was in no position to complain about his decision to restore direct talks with Russia that were suspended by his predecessor, Joe Biden.

Zelensky acknowledged earlier this month that around half of its rare-earth deposits are “under Russian occupation.” Writing for Bloomberg this week, commodities expert Javier Blas argued that Trump’s expectations from a deal are grossly exaggerated because Ukraine “has no significant rare-earth deposits other than small scandium mines.”

(I’m sure Trump Admin knows the minerals almost don’t exist so what is their real plan? Investigate the fraud and corruption there, or to pre-empt Europe taking it over when negotiations are complete. Maybe to just recoup the money we lost. Trump knows if war is settled, Europe and EU will try to control this rogue state to attack the US, or worse to start another war. These countries and politicians are making tons of money on this war alone. Orban has told all the EU plans to Trump, what does Trump know? It’s not about the minerals, that’s for sure.)

G20 welcomed Riyadh talks – Lavrov

Russia and the US resumed dialogue this week after a 3-year pause

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that all G20 nations welcomed recent US-Russia talks in Riyadh, which aimed to restore dialogue and address the ongoing Ukraine conflict. Lavrov made the remarks at a press conference on Friday, following the two-day G20 foreign ministers’ meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa, that began on February 20.

Speaking to journalists,Lavrov said “All welcomed our meeting,” while acknowledging that the Riyadh talks marked only the start of dialogue.

The high-level discussions in the Saudi capital earlier this week involved Lavrov, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other officials from both sides. The talks focused on reestablishing diplomatic ties between Moscow and Washington and potential paths toward resolving the Ukraine conflict.

Both sides described the talks as productive, with Lavrov stating that the delegations worked “quite successfully” on improving relations. Rubio called the meeting “the first step of a long and difficult journey but an important one.”

As a result of the talks, both sides agreed to lay the groundwork for restoring US-Russian bilateral ties and working towards a resolution to the Ukraine conflict. They also committed to organizing a summit between their respective leaders in the future.

Addressing reporters on Friday, Lavrov noted that the way certain “tragicomic characters leading the Brussels bureaucracy and NATO reacted to the Riyadh meeting speaks for itself.”

The foreign minister further argued that only “unhealthy people” would view diplomatic engagement between two global powers as a “betrayal of Western interests.”

Both the EU and Ukraine, which were excluded from the talks in Saudi Arabia, condemned the meeting. Vladimir Zelensky described the talks as “disreputable,” accusing Washington of “helping Putin get out of years of isolation” and portraying Russia as “a victim.”

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas suggested that Moscow emerged as the biggest winner from the talks, stressing that any peace deal regarding Ukraine has to involve the Europeans and Ukrainians to be effective.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Moscow “has never refused contact with EU nations or withdrawn from negotiations with Ukraine.” He noted that it was Kiev that pulled out of the Istanbul talks in the spring of 2022 and later banned its officials from engaging in any dialogue with Moscow.

The Russian president reiterated thatMoscow is ready to return to the peace process at any time, but said the decision ultimately lies with Kiev and Brussels.

(Why is the EU and Brussels working for Ukraine that is not even in the EU? Money of course. Putin said before, Russia has Ukrainians that communicate back to Putin, of what Kiev is doing or have planned.)

Foreign troops deploying to Ukraine not realistic – Zelensky’s top aide

Europe should focus on providing more weapons instead, Mikhail Podoliak has said

Peacekeeping forces or soldiers from other countries being deployed to Ukraine is not a realistic prospect, Mikhail Podoliak, the top adviser to the country’s leader Vladimir Zelensky, said on Friday.

Podoliak made the statement in an interview with Polish radio station RMF just days after a number of European top officials gathered for an emergency meeting in Paris. Ahead of the event, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he was “ready and willing” to put his nation’s troops on the ground in Ukraine to help secure a peace deal.

Podoliak, however, stated that a deployment of foreign peacekeeping forces or soldiers “do not seem very realistic scenarios for now.” Instead, he suggested that Europe should increase its defense spending and togetherwith Kiev “focus on the development of arms” and continue support “in this way.” (they don’t plan on stopping the war)

The comments come after Russian and American officials met in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to discuss future negotiations on settling the Ukraine crisis. US President Donald Trump has repeatedly voiced his intent to bring the conflict to a quick resolution.

Following the talks, Russia’s top diplomat, Sergey Lavrov, stated that Moscow firmly rejects NATO troops being deployed to Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry has consistently warned that Moscow views any European peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine as a provocative step that could further escalate the conflict.

Starmer is scheduled to visit Washington next week, where, according to The Telegraph, he will present Donald Trump with a plan to send 30,000 European troops to Ukraine and will try to secure American protection for the deployment. Zelensky claimed in January that Ukraine may need 200,000 European soldiers to guarantee a peace deal.

Last week, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegsethruled out deploying American troopsas part of potential security guarantees to Kiev.

According to Politico, Brussels is preparing a military aid package of at least €6 billion ($6.2 billion) for Kiev, which would include 1.5 million artillery shells and air defense systems. The package would be one of the EU’s largest military aid injections since the start of Russia’s military operation in 2022. It could be announced ahead of a visit by EU commissioners to Kiev on February 24.

Canada can keep anthem – Trump (Kek)

The US President has once again suggested that America’s northern neighbor will “have to become the 51st state”

US President DonaldTrump has joked that Canada can keep its national anthemwhen it joins the United States. The comment came at the Republican Governors Association meeting in Washington, DC on Thursday.

Trump has repeatedly floated the idea of absorbing Canada, citing its dependence on the US.

”We’ll have to work out some deal … because I do like the ‘O Canada’ all right,” Trump said, referring to the anthem. “It’s a beautiful thing. I think we’re going to have to keep it for the 51st state.”

Ottawa has consistently dismissed the idea of the country being absorbed into the US, with outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau describing Trump’s idea as a “non-starter.”

Trump made the joke while referring to the trade dispute between the two countries.

“Canada is going to have to pay tariffs on automobiles, lumber, oil and gas, etc., they get 95% of their product from the United States. I think they’ll have to become the 51st state,” the US President has argued.

In response to the joke, Canadian singer Chantal Kreviazuk changed the anthem’s lyrics from “in all of us command” to “that only us command” while performing during a men’s ice hockey game between the US and Canada on Thursday. The ‘true north’ defeated Team USA 3-2 in overtime.

Earlier this month, Ottawa imposed 25% tariffs on US goods in retaliation for Washington’s levies on all Canadian produce that had been introduced over concerns regarding illegal immigration and drug trafficking. Faced with a looming trade war, Washington and Ottawa have agreed to delay the implementation of the tariffs until March 4.

Trump has also previously argued that Canada would struggle to remain viable without receiving hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies from Washington, as well as military protection from the US.

Anons is there any hidden history that the US already owns or has rights to Canada’s territory?

Rubio explains Trump’s stance on Canada becoming 51st state

Washington is ready to continue working with Ottawa but “there has to be reciprocity” in trade, the US secretary of state has said

US President Donald Trump's offer to absorb Canada came “logically” after Canadian Prime Minister JustinTrudeau allegedly said his country would cease to exist if Washington imposed higher import tariffs, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has claimed.

In an interview with Canadian-American journalist Catherine Herridge published on Thursday, Rubio recalled a conversation between Trump and Trudeau, in which the latter allegedly suggested that Canada would be unable to cope with increased tariffs.

“Trudeau says, ‘if you impose [new tariffs], if you even out our trade relationship, then we will cease to exist as a country.’ At which pointthe president responded very logically, and that is ‘if you can't exist without cheating and trade, then you should become a [US] state’,” Rubio said.

Trump earlier announced he would impose 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports to the US, including from Canada, effective in March. Rubio argued that while Canada remains a neighbor and partner to the US, the era of allowing trade imbalances must end.

“We can continue to work together on all kinds of things, but whether it’s Canada, Mexico, China, or any other partner, when it comes to economics and trade, there has to be reciprocity, there has to be fairness”, Rubio said.

Trump has publicly claimed that Canada would not be viable as a country without receiving hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies from Washington, in addition to military protection from the US.

According to Trump, the solution would be for Canada to join the US, which he claims would lead to “much lower taxes, far better military protection for the people of Canada, and no tariffs.” He has also claimed that Canadian citizens “would like” the idea “if it's explained [to them].”

The suggestion, however, has elicited widespread criticism from Canadian officials. Trudeau described it as a “non-starter,” claiming that “many citizens” opposed the idea as well. The US wants to “benefit” from Canada’s natural resources and “Trump has it in mind that one of the easiest ways of doing that is absorbing our country, and it is a real thing,” he warned.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre stated that “Canada will never be the 51st state. Period. We are a great and independent country.” New Democratic Party Leader Jagmeet Singh dismissed the proposal as absurd, asserting that no Canadian desires such a union.

In early February, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, along with an additional 10% tariff on imports from China, citing concerns over illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

In response, Canada announced retaliatory tariffs of 25%, targeting a wide range of American-made goods. However, Washington and Ottawa later agreed to delay the implementation of the tariffs until March 4.

(Why would Trudeau admit this to Trump? He started the whole idea of Canada as the 51st state in US. He was probably trying to get sympathy.)

‘A lot of problems’ for Kiev without minerals deal – Trump

The US president has demanded access to Ukraine’s rare earths, although Vladimir Zelensky has reportedly refused to sign a deal

Ukraine will face “a lot of problems” if it doesn’t agree to sign over the rights to a large chunk of its natural resources to the US, President Donald Trump has warned.

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky first floated the idea of granting Washington access to his country’s rare-earth minerals back in October. Earlier this month, Trump said he would pursue a deal and demanded the “equivalent of $500 billion” worth of natural resources, as compensation for aid provided to Ukraine throughout its conflict with Russia.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday, Trump stated that “we’re going to either sign a deal or there’s gonna be a lot of problems with [Ukraine].” The US president added that an agreement would “hopefully [take place] in the next fairly short period of time,” with Washington receiving “four or five hundred billion dollars back.”

Trump criticized his predecessor, Joe Biden, over US aid to Ukraine, saying he “just gave them money…We’re spending our treasure on… a country that’s very, very far away.” In contrast, Trump claimed European countries would be reimbursed for their aid to Kiev as it is “in the form of a loan.”

According to The Economist, citing anonymous sources, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gave Zelensky just one hour to agree to a proposal during a visit to Kiev last week. The Ukrainian leader declined to sign the agreement.

At the Munich Security Conference last weekend, Zelensky told journalists he was seeking a “connection between some kind of security guarantees and some kind of investment.”

The Associated Press quoted an unnamed official as describing the agreement in its current form as “colonial.”

On Monday, White House National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes accused Zelensky of being “short-sighted about the excellent opportunity the Trump administration has presented to Ukraine.”

Amid the back-and-forth, a senior Ukrainian lawmaker claimed on Thursday that the US had halted weapons sales to Kiev.

On Saturday, Reuters cited anonymous sources as alleging that the US has also threatened to block the Ukrainian military’s access to Elon Musk’s Starlink internet terminals if it continues to dig its heels in on a minerals deal.

According to the 2024 World Economic Forum report, Ukraine “holds immense potential as a major global supplier of critical raw materials”that could be “essential” for defense, the technology sector, and green energy. Much of those resources are, however, located in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, which joined Russia in 2022.

https://www.rt.com/news/613150-trump-threatens-ukraine-problems-minerals-deal/

(Theories: There has got a much larger reason than minerals for the Trump Admin wants from this deal, perhaps it is to have Americans there, to prevent WWIII with Russia. If America completely withdraws, the EU will gin up another war using their favorite corrupt country! If Americans are there, Ukraine would have to open their books, and would be subject to a DOGE Colonoscopy. The U.S. has a lot of good reasons to present this plan imo; and for the US to be involved, and to be a protector for Ukraine.Trump’s biggest concern is to stop the killing of soldiers in both Ukraine and Russia. Plus does anyone really think that the Trump admin hadn’t done their own study on the minerals for confirmation, before the offer? Whatever it is, it will be interesting and peaceful. Trump is allowing himself and the country to have the EU and others to think, it’s all about money and greed, but it’s not that at all)

Anons what are your theories? What can minerals be code for?
