Act of War: Houthis Fired Surface-to-Air Missiles at Two U.S. Military Aircraft
Houthi rebels in Yemen have, for the first time, launched surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) at U.S. military aircraft.
On February 19, an American F-16 fighter jet was targeted while flying over the Red Sea near Yemen’s coastline but the missile did not make contact. Additionally, a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone was fired upon in a separate incident. These attacks mark a notable shift in the Houthis’ capabilities and pose increased risks to U.S. operations in the region.
According to Fox News:
Now there is a policy debate at the highest levels of the U.S. military about what is the best way to counter the Houthis, which the Trump administration has put back on the State Department’s terror list.
The debate now is whether to carry out a more traditional counterterrorism approach to the Houthis, with persistent strikes targeting the individuals planning and carrying out the ongoing attacks, or whether to take a more defensive approach and keep going after Houthi infrastructure and weapons-storage facilities.
The Houthis’ acquisition and use of SAMs, likely supplied by Iran, have raised concerns about the safety of U.S. and allied aircraft operating in the area. The U.S. military is currently assessing the situation to determine appropriate responses to this emerging threat.
These developments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with the Houthis intensifying their military activities along the Red Sea, including attacks on merchant vessels. The U.S. continues to monitor the situation closely, emphasizing the need for increased vigilance to protect its assets and personnel.

Supreme Ct. Filing Exposes How Charlottesville Officials Enabled 2017 Violence to Suppress Speech
A new Supreme Court petition filed by political activist Warren Balogh sheds light on what he calls the ‘intentional dereliction of duty’ by Charlottesville officials during the infamous 2017 “Unite the Right” rally. The petition, appealing a lower court decision from the Fourth Circuit, raises serious constitutional questions about whether local governments can deliberately allow chaos and violence as a means of suppressing speech they dislike.
Balogh is a self-described ‘pro-white’ activist. Far-left groups use a variety of labels to describe him as a ‘white nationalist’ and other such defamatory terms. Balogh says he was at the Charlottesville rally for only one purpose: to oppose the destruction of a historical monument. The Lee monument was destroyed in 2023, despite promises by officials it would be relocated.
Balogh is appealing the Fourth Circuit’s dismissal of his claims, as part of Balogh v. Virginia, 120 F.4th 127. That appeal was decided by Chief Judge Albert Diaz, an Obama appointee. That court said that because the participants engaged in violence, they were not entitled to protection from the police, a ruling at odds with the evidence in the case.
You can read the request for Supreme Court review here.
Charlottesville’s supposed right-wing violence is the reason Joe Biden gave for running against Donald Trump in the 2020 election.
ALLEGATION: GOVERNMENT DELIBERATELY SOUGHT VIOLENCE
The “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville became a flashpoint in American political history, but according to this Supreme Court filing, the event was doomed from the start—not by the protestors, but by the city’s leadership. The lawsuit argues that Charlottesville police officers were ordered to “stand down” while violent far-left Antifa counter-protesters clashed with demonstrators, ensuring the event spiraled into disorder.
Balogh’s legal team alleges that city officials knowingly refused to maintain public order, allowing Antifa-aligned groups to provoke violence. The filing contends that this deliberate inaction was a strategy—the violence created a pretext for shutting down the protest and blaming the right-wing demonstrators.
This point has been confirmed in prior Gateway Pundit reporting, where previously-unseen drone footage from the day of the event shows that the pro-Lee-statue protesters were being attacked and abused and were refusing to fight back. The far-left, on the other hand, was allowed to get away with anything they wanted, even when crimes were committed in front of police officers.
Far-left Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe even bragged about telling the police to ‘stand down’ in his book, on page 95, about the Charlottesville event. This was done by ‘screwing protocol’ in his words, and declaring a state emergency and demanding the park be cleared. “The critical thing here,” Balogh told the Gateway Pundit, “is that the police only attacked the right-wing protesters. They didn’t clear streets of the Antifa protesters waving Communist flags, they came only at the right-wing protesters. Governor McAuliffe was a top Clinton fundraiser, a corrupt member of left-wing elites, and they saw this as revenge against Donald Trump’s supporters. Hillary’s fundraiser’s agenda was to invent violence to shut down a peaceful rally. This was nothing but woke overreach.”
“They drove us into Market Street, they drove us into Antifa. I got attacked twice that day. The first time was in Lee Park when I got sprayed in the face with riot-grade pepper spray as the police pushed us out of the park, where we had a permit. Then when I was half-blinded by police, I got clubbed from behind by a masked member of Antifa. We were pushed out into the street to get us to fight with Antifa.”

Border Patrol Agent Murdered by Trans Death Cult is Being Buried w/ Military Honors
'We love you, Chris. You'll live in our hearts forever…
A U.S. Border Patrol agent whose killing in Vermont during a traffic stop near the Canadian border has been tied to a cultlike group is scheduled to be buried with full military honors Saturday at a national cemetery.
David Maland, 44, died Jan. 20 during the stop on Interstate 91 in Conventry, about 20 south of the border with Canada. The driver of the stopped car is accused of opening fire on Maland and other agents, sparking a shootout that left her companion dead. Both belonged to a group called the Zizians that may be linked to six deaths in three states, investigators said.
Their goals aren’t clear, but online writings span topics from radical veganism and gender identity to artificial intelligence. Conservative journalist Andy Ngo coined the term “Trantifa” —a play on the words “transgender” and “Antifa.”
Are you confused by who's involved in the "antifascist" trans terror cult linked to multiple brutal homicides? The @nypost published a graphic with my new report showing the key players, including the so-called cult leader, Jack "Andrea" "Ziz" LaSota. Read:… pic.twitter.com/QUFxlaYqYR

Maland, who went by Chris, is to be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. A native of Minnesota, he served in the Air Force and the State Department before joining the Border Patrol.
“Chris was a loving son, brother, uncle, fiance and dedicated colleague,” his family said in a statement released late Friday. “His kind heart and fighting soul made him a warm and inviting person to be around and pillar of strength for his country.
“We love you, Chris. You’ll live in our hearts forever.”
In the Air Force, Maland was responsible for protecting bases, personnel and property. In 2001, he worked security duty at the Pentagon during the Sept. 11 attacks, his family said.
He received the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, among other honors, according to his obituary.
Maland was a K-9 handler at the State Department and at his Border Patrol job in Vermont. He first joined the Border Patrol in Texas.
“He will be remembered for his courage and commitment to protecting fellow Americans,” Minnesota state Rep. Krista Knudsen, Maland’s cousin, said on the House floor last month. “He is also a person who served faithfully with honor and bravery. He always put his service above himself.”

Female HS basketball player refuses to play against boy; gets investigated for ‘harassment’
For ‘misgendering’ opposing trans-female player
A 15-year-old girl at a Washington State high school is under investigation for “bullying” and “harassment” for allegedly “misgendering” a male player on an opposing girls basketball team.
According to a complaint from the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism, earlier this month Tumwater High School player Frances Staudt noticed during pre-game warm-ups that her team’s opponent had a biological male on its roster.
Tumwater Principal Zach Suderman and Athletic Director Jordan Magrath confirmed this was the case as Washington Interscholastic Activities Association policy allows students to “play on the team that aligns with their ‘gender identity.'”
In addition, state officials have voiced objections to President Trump’s executive order barring biological men from competing on women’s sports teams.
The attorney general’s office said “we are repulsed by the president’s dehumanization of the trans community,” and Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal called the EO “discrimination against trans female athletes.”
As such, the two Tumwater officials refused Staudt’s request “to either remove the male or stop the game entirely,” with Suderman claiming to do either would amount to “gender-identity-based discrimination.”
Staudt retorted not removing a male from a female competition actually is what constitutes “discrimination.”
After refusing to play in the game, Staudt “became increasingly distraught by the threat she perceived to her teammates’ safety” and thus continued to request that officials not let the boy — identified by “[un]Divided” podcaster Brandi Kruse as Shelton High School senior Andi Rooks — play or stop the game altogether.
This led to the Tumwater School District beginning an investigation into Staudt for “harassing” the male player.
The Staudt family alleged Principal Suderman had asked Frances’ mother “Are you telling me that your daughter will never get knocked down or potentially injured by someone bigger, stronger and faster than she is while playing sports?”
They also claim a school employee intimidated Frances’ brother for taking video of the game: “You better think twice about what you’re doing right now,” he (allegedly) said.
Staudt subsequently wrote on Instagram “This is far from over, as it has fueled a passion for me to speak out against the wrongdoing that is STILL happening to FEMALE athletes in this great country.”
She also accused Rooks of “brutalizing” her teammates (pictured, upper left; see segment in first video at 8:15).

According to “[un]Divided,” school officials demanded Staudt take down her post, and Rooks’ father sent numerous text messages” to Staudt’s mother threatening to “come to her house” if she did not respond.
Host Brandi Kruse further noted the Tumwater Education Association, the local teachers union, came out in support of Rooks, posting on Facebook “Dear trans kids, the world is better with you in it and you are worth fighting for.”
It also wrote (among other things) “Hate cannot drive out hate,” “We are recognizing our students as they already exist in the world,” and “Hatred wrapped in the cloak of euphemisms is still hatred.” (Both posts apparently have since been deleted.)
To their credit, Rooks and his father appeared on Kruse’s show shortly after the controversy to give their side of the story. The father’s main motivation was setting the record straight regarding Staudt’s “brutalizing” social media comment.
Rooks said the idea of “transitioning” came from his mother around second grade; his father said he “wasn’t in a position to question anything” about his son’s decision(s).
Notably, unlike others in similar situations, Rooks and his dad were remarkably understanding and reasonable during the discussion.
Highlights from the back-and-forth:
— Rooks is vehemently opposed to minors going through physical gender transitioning (despite Washington State allowing procedures like hormone therapy for minors), and is against the forced use of gender pronouns.
— Rooks said he would have gladly sat out the game against Tumwater if Staudt or someone else had come to him expressing concerns about his participation. He was disappointed Principal Suderman and other Tumwater HS officials didn’t make him aware of Staudt’s concerns: “My goal was never to make anybody uncomfortable in any way […] I didn’t even realize Frances had an issue until I got yelled at at the game.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth Fires Two Four-Stars, Top JAG Officers
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth fired two four-star military leaders on Friday evening, making good on a promise to review general officers and replace any who were not aligned with his and President Donald Trump’s efforts to prioritize lethality and war-fighting in the military.
Hegseth fired Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti and and Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. James Slife.
He stated that they “have had distinguished careers,” and said, “We thank them for their service and dedication to our country.”
He added he was also requesting nominations for the Judge Advocates General for the Army, Navy and Air Force.
“Under President Trump, we are putting in place new leadership that will focus our military on its core mission of deterring, fighting and winning war,” he said
Just before Hegseth’s announcement, Trump fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force Gen. Charles “CQ” Brown, who was put in that position by former President Joe Biden.
Trump announced his decision on Truth Social, saying:
I want to thank General Charles ‘CQ’ Brown for his over 40 years of service to our country, including as our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He is a fine gentleman and an outstanding leader, and I wish a great future for him and his family.
Trump also announced Brown’s replacement, Air Force Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Dan “Razin” Caine, whom he got to know during his first term.
The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is the top military adviser to the president. While they typically serve four-year terms, they can be replaced at any time by a president.
Brown famously filmed a video amid the George Floyd riots sweeping the nation, in which he called Floyd’s death “tragic,” and said that he was “full of emotion.”
As chief of staff of the Air Force, he also pushed to get more African Americans and other minorities as officers by telling commanders to recruit more for the “applicant pool” — so as to get around explicitly calling for racial quotas.
Also under Brown’s tenure as Air Force chief of staff, Trump’s nominee for undersecretary of the Air Force, former Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier, was fired from his Space Force command after he published a book on Marxism spreading in the United States military and discussed his book on a podcast.
Hegseth said about the incoming chairman:
This evening the President announced that he intends to nominate Lieutenant General Dan “Razin” Caine, USAF, for the position of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the nation’s highest-ranking military officer, and the principal military advisor to the President, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Council.
General Caine embodies the warfighter ethos and is exactly the leader we need to meet the moment. I look forward to working with him.
He also wished Brown well.
“The outgoing Chairman, Gen. Charles ‘CQ’ Brown, Jr., USAF, has served with distinction in a career spanning four decades of honorable service. I have come to know him as a thoughtful adviser and salute him for his distinguished service to our country,” he said.
