China launches ChinaSat-10R communications satellite from Xichang

February 22, 2025

China launched a new communications satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit Saturday to replace the aging ChinaSat-10 spacecraft.

A Long March 3B rocket lifted off at 7:11 a.m. Eastern (1211 UTC) Feb. 22 from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China.

Exhaust from the rocket illuminated launch infrastructure around the pad as the launch vehicle climbed into the night sky.

The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), the country’s state-owned main space contractor, confirmed launch success, revealing the previously undisclosed payload to be the ChinaSat-10R (Zhongxing-10R) communications satellite. U.S. Space Force space domain awareness later cataloged the satellite in geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO).

“The ChinaSat-10R satellite will mainly provide satellite communication services to users in China’s transportation, emergency response, energy, forestry, and grassland sectors, as well as countries and regions along the Belt and Road,” a CASC statement read.

CASC did not immediately provide information on which DFH satellite bus the satellite is based on, nor details regarding transponders and bands used, which would help clarify its exact capabilities.

The original ChinaSat-10 was launched in 2011 and positioned at 110.5 degrees East on the geostationary belt, 35,786 kilometers above the equator.

The Belt and Road aspect of the new satellite’s role highlights China’s aim of enhancing geopolitical influence through satellite diplomacy, while also improving the country’s satellite infrastructure.

ChinaSat, also known as Zhongxing, is a series of communications satellites operated by China Satellite Communications Co., Ltd. (China Satcom), a CASC subsidiary.

The satellite series provides a range of communications services, including television broadcasting, internet connectivity, radio transmission, secure military communications, VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) networks, and mobile communications.

The Long March 3B and the satellite were produced by CASC’s China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) and China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) respectively.

Despite CASC developing the Long March 7A kerosene-liquid oxygen launcher for missions to geosynchronous transfer orbit, the older, hypergolic Long March 3B remains a workhorse for such missions.

The rocket is scheduled to launch the Tianwen-2 near-Earth asteroid sample return and main belt comet rendezvous mission in the coming months. Previously, it launched the Chang’e-4 lunar far side landing mission in 2018.

The launch was China’s eighth orbital launch attempt of the year. It follows the debut flight of the Long March 8A rocket Feb.11, carrying a second batch of Guowang megaconstellation satellites into orbit.

CASC has yet to publish an overview of China’s plans for the year, but is expected to do so later this month.

The country may once again attempt to reach around 100 launches—as targeted for 2024—or more.

Commercial launch companies headquartered in Beijing are aiming for a collective total of around 40 launches, according to officials at a recent commercial space conference.

China is scheduled to launch the crewed Shenzhou-20 and -21 missions and a Tianzhou cargo resupply spacecraft to the Tiangong space station in 2025.

A pair of new, smaller cargo spacecraft could also fly to Tiangong on new commercial rockets this year. China also aims to debut a number of new Long March and potentially reusable commercial rockets during 2025.

Commercial launch service provider Galactic Energy is set to launch a Ceres-1 solid rocket Feb. 25 from Jiuquan spaceport in northwest China.

A Long March 2C rocket is expected to launch Feb. 27, also from Jiuquan, carrying an as yet unknown payload.

Russia launches 'aerial terror' with biggest drone attack since start of war - Zelenskyy

February 23, 2025

He condemned Russia for its "aerial terror" as he reported more than 250 drones had hit his country overnight.

It comes ahead of the third-year anniversary of Russia's land, air and sea invasion of its smaller neighbour, which started on 24 February 2022.

"Every day, our people stand against aerial terror," he wrote on X.

"On the eve of the third anniversary of the full-scale war, Russia launched 267 attack drones against Ukraine - the largest attack since Iranian drones began striking Ukrainian cities and villages."

A total of 138 of the drones were downed and another 119 disappeared from radars after being jammed by electronic warfare, Ukraine's air force said in a statement, as damage was reported across five regions.

Mr Zelenskyy, who has had a troubling few days as US President Donald Trump on Wednesday referred to him as a "dictator", said in total nearly 1,150 attack drones, more than 1,400 guided aerial bombs and 35 missiles of various types were launched by Russia at Ukraine in the past week.

Mr Zelenskyy thanked those operating Ukraine's air defences and called on the country's foreign allies to stand united to secure a "just and lasting peace".

"This is achievable through the unity of all partners - we need the strength of all of Europe, the strength of America, the strength of everyone who seeks lasting peace."

It comes amid concerns over Mr Trump's recent war of words with Mr Zelenskyy and the Republican's claim Kyiv was to blame for starting the war - despite millions being displaced by Russia's "special military campaign".

During a conference on Saturday, President Trump - who shocked the West by holding talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin shortly after being sworn in for his second stint in the White House - repeated his optimism that a deal to end the war is possible under his watch.

The Republican said he was "dealing" with both the Ukrainian and Russian leaders.

"I've spoken to President Putin and I think that thing [the war] is going to end," he told the conference.

Ukraine has insisted it won't accept any deal agreed without its participation, after it was excluded from this week's meeting between top US and Russian diplomats in Saudi Arabia.

Mr Trump also said he was determined to get payback for billions of dollars of military hardware and other assistance provided to Ukraine.

The US leader has sought an agreement from Ukraine for access to the country's natural resources in exchange for weapons.

Mr Trump has said a deal was close, but a source with knowledge of the negotiations told Sky News the Ukrainian president is not ready to sign.

Houthis target US fighter jet, drone with SAM missiles for first time

February 22, 2025 1:04pm EST

Houthi rebels for the first time fired surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) at a U.S. F-16 fighter jet on Feb. 19, three senior U.S. defense officials tell Fox News.

The jet was flying off the coast of Yemen over the Red Sea when the SAM was fired. The missile did not strike the jet.

Houthis fired another SAM at an American MQ-9 Reaper drone that the U.S. was flying over Yemen outside Houthi-controlled areas on Feb. 19.

This is the first time the Houthis have fired a SAM missile at an American F16 fighter jet, a significant escalation in the ongoing military interactions between the Iranian-backed group and the U.S. Navy and Air Force, according to senior U.S. defense officials.

Under the Biden administration the U.S. military defended its warships patrolling the Red Sea and Bab al Mandab Strait, escorting and preventing attacks on commercial ships by the Houthis following the Oct. 7, 2023, attack in Israel by Hamas.

The Houthi attacks began shortly after the Israeli military responded to Oct. 7 in Gaza. U.S. Central Command then escalated its attacks on the Houthis to degrade infrastructure and weapons-storage facilities.

Now there is a policy debate at the highest levels of the U.S. military about what is the best way to counter the Houthis, which the Trump administration has put back on the State Department’s terror list.

The debate now is whether to carry out a more traditional counterterrorism approach to the Houthis, with persistent strikes targeting the individuals planning and carrying out the ongoing attacks, or whether to take a more defensive approach and keep going after Houthi infrastructure and weapons-storage facilities.

A counterterrorism approach would be a significant – and, some say, expensive – escalation at a time when military resources, including MQ-9 Reaper drones, are being diverted to the southern border.

The policy decision will eventually have to be decided by the White House.

Senior military leaders believe that it could be only a matter of time before a Houthi missile hits a U.S. Navy vessel, which could cause devastating injuries and damage to the aircraft carriers and destroyers that have been patrolling the Red Sea since shortly after the Oct. 7 attacks.

So far, the Navy has shot down or intercepted all of the missiles and drones fired at their warships by the Houthis, but sometimes the interceptions have occurred seconds before impact.

There have been numerous close calls, and the U.S. Navy in essence has been at war in the Red Sea for the past two years, facing near-constant attacks by Houthi ballistic and cruise missiles and drones, and firing expensive SM-2 and SM-3 missiles to counter the Houthi harassment.

‘’Mystery’’ drone hits Idlib, second strike in days

2025-02-23 07:25

A drone strike targeted a vehicle in northern Idlib on Sunday, triggering a powerful explosion.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the drone, believed to be part of the US-led coalition, carried out the attack as part of ongoing military operations in northern Syria. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

On February 21, the Syrian Observatory reported a similar strike, in which a suspected coalition drone destroyed a vehicle near the Sarmada-Tal al-Karama highway in Idlib province, killing one person inside.

STRANGER THINGS Alien pyramids on Mars, time travel & devil sketches… inside CIA’s original ‘Stargate Project’ as Trump revives name

12:06, 23 Feb 2025

DONALD Trump begun his presidency by announcing his new AI project "Stargate" - but its not the first time the US government have used that name for an out of this world scheme.

Some 50 years ago the "Stargate Project" was a top secret operation run by the CIA and US military - with the goal to use self-proclaimed psychics as spies and to offer a window into the unknown.

Mind-readers and mystical time travellers used their apparent powers at the request of top US spies in a series of strange experiments from the 1970s to the 1990s.

Run out of a barracks in Fort Meade, Maryland, the CIA and US Army enlisted the help of apparently extraordinary people with seemingly supernatural powers.

The main target of their research was the Soviet Union - as the Cold War and threat of nuclear annhilation hung over the globe.

It's spycraft purpose was to develop "remote viewing" - where psychic spies could snoop on the Russians from thousands of miles away.

But they also got their test subjects to attempt a number of other odd experiments - such as making psychic contact with aliens.

The CIA flooded money into this weird experiment as they believed their enemy was investing heavily into similar research.

And thus begun a psychic arms race.

But the world got a glimpse into this strange world when the CIA finally declassified hundreds of pages of documents about the project.

It concluded that while the odd scheme ultimately did not have an value to the intelligence services - despite millions being spent over two decades.

The documents however do reveal some of the eerie findings - accompanied with drawings and writeen accounts in great detail.

Files revealed this top-secret project's primary focus was to look into “anomalous phenomena” including telepathy and remote viewing.

Major General Albert Stubblebine - a Vietnam War veteran - was one of the driving forces behind the project over the years.

He was convinced of the value of psychic powers and deeply interested in UFOs.

One of the shock experiments, titled “Mars Exploration” saw the agency attempt to use psychics to describe the planet.

The already bizarre project - from May 22, 1984 - became even weirder as an unnamed psychic described the red planet at around “approximately 1 million years B.C.".

This apparent seer was given an envelope with the planet, the time period of interest, and geographical coordinates.

Scientists chose this odd time period as they believed life could have existed on Mars a million years ago.

This alleged psychic claimed they saw pyramids which were “very high” and “sitting in a large depressed area,” according to a transcript from the 1984 experiment.

The apparent time traveller also described seeing alien beings.

They said: “I just keep seeing very large people. “They appear thin and tall, but they’re very large. Ah… wearing some kind of strange clothes.”

The alleged psychic also painted a picture of a hostile planet suffering from harsh weather and strong winds, which pyramids were supposedly used as protection against.

They said: “They’re like shelters from storms.

The alleged time traveller went “inside” and added: “Different chambers… but they’re almost stripped of any kind of…furnishings or anything, it’s like ah… strictly functional place for sleeping or that’s not a good word, hibernations, some form.”

SUPERNORMAL BEING

These documents revealed one man, Uri Geller, succeeded in convincing the CIA that he was a psychic.

Geller, a celebrity psychic and famed spoon bender from Israel, sat in a sealed and monitored room where he was asked to draw words and objects using his psychic powers.

One of these tests included randomly selecting a word from a dictionary.

The first word selected was "fuse" and a firecracker was then drawn by someone outside the locked room.

Geller was told via intercom the drawing was finished after the picture had been taped to the wall outside.

The CIA documents said: "His almost immediate response was that he saw a 'cylinder with noise coming out of it'.

"His drawing to correspond with it was a drum, along with a number of cylindrical-looking objects."

The documents also said: "He then talked about 'purple circles'.

"Finally, he said that he was quite sure that he had the picture. His drawing was indeed a bunch of grapes."

The CIA's extraordinary conclusion was that Uri "demonstrated his paranormal perceptual ability in a convincing and unambiguous manner".

The CIA said it ended the programme in 1977 and handed it over to the Defense intelligence Agency (DIA) where it was eventually renamed with the codename GRILL FLAME.

REVIVAL PLANS

Trump announced that he would champion his own program dubbed Stargate but his version would have nothing to do with the CIA's Cold War secret plan.

The US President has sought to bring together Americas biggest names in tech to use AI in new ways.

This could include projects to discover a cure for cancer.

The groundbreaking idea was launched with AI industry leaders OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle to "ensure the future of American technology".

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believed AI can help "cure the diseases at a rapid, rapid rate".

Oracle CEO Larry Ellison agreed that the daring new project could cure cancer.

He said: "Little fragments of those [cancer] tumors float around in your blood. So you can do early cancer detection.

"If you can do it using AI, you can do early cancer detection with a blood test and using AI to look at the blood test.

"Once we gene sequence that cancer tumor, you can then vaccinate the person —design a vaccine for every individual person that vaccinates them against that cancer.

"That mRNA vaccine, you can make that robotically, again using AI, in about 48 hours."

Funding for these plans could reach as much as $500billion and Trump claimed it could create 100,000 new jobs.

This comes as the US teeters on a superintelligence race with China, after it released the cheap AI app DeepSeek that rocked the tech world.

It completely shook America's previously undisputed crown as AI leaders, but this moment could mirror the US's old Cold War tech race.

This surprise was branded "AI's Sputnik moment" by Donald Trump's adviser Marc Andreessen.

Remote Viewing Contactee Claims

Feb 20, 2025

Tony Rodrigues was trained in operational remote viewing when he was involuntarily taken into a “20 and back” secret space program (SSP) in 1982 as punishment for a childhood infraction against the son of a local Illuminati member.

Rodrigues was first taken to Inyokern, California, where he and other children were trained in remote viewing using trauma-based mind control to enhance their psionic abilities.

A pioneer in remote viewing was involved in running the program, which he was told used cloned children in the illegal RV experiments.

Today, Rodrigues is using the remote viewing skills he developed to investigate the testimonies of secret space program insiders and contactees, such as Elena Danaan, JP and Jean Charles Moyen.

He has found through his remote viewing sessions, which continue to use a blind protocol, much that corroborates their testimonies.

Rodrigues believes that individuals claiming to conduct remote viewing without a blind protocol are in fact using a form clairvoyance, which can be very unreliable.
