Congress Has No Plan to Fund Government as Shutdown Deadline Nears
The U.S. government will shut down on March 14, and Congress has not yet released a plan on how to fund it.
Since Dec. 20, 2024, the government has operated by virtue of a “continuing resolution“ or ”CR"—a law that authorizes funding temporarily, based on levels set for the previous fiscal year.
