NEW: Hamas is willing to cede political power and administrative governance of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian unity government, but would not disarm unless an independent Palestinian state is achieved, Basem Naim, a senior political official for Hamas, told NBC News.
“We are ready today, if not yesterday, to step back from governance to hand it over to a body, a government, a committee, that is ready to run the Gaza Strip,” Naim said.
Naim made his comments during a critical impasse: The first phase of a tenuous deal between Hamas and Israel is set to end on Saturday, and no arrangements have been made for continuing the ceasefire.

Would-be Trump assassin Thomas Crooks may have had accomplice, data shows, as investigators say FBI suppressing info
Sources told The Post the FBI has obstructed efforts to solve the mystery of why Thomas Matthew Crooks, who left no manifesto, did what he did. It’s left local law enforcement as well as Crooks’ former friends, classmates and teachers and even Elon Musk frustrated.
Those who may know, Crooks’ parents Matthew and Mary, have refused all interviews so far and remain in their small, three-bedroom home here, sealed off from the world like hermits. Neighbors say they only leave the house at 3am to buy groceries.
A veteran private investigator from Erie, Penn., who was hired shortly after the fateful July 13 event at Butler Farm show grounds to look into Crooks by a private client, told The Post he believes a “criminal network” was operating with him at the time of the assassination attempt, is still in existence and still wants to kill President Trump.
Doug Hagmann, whose team of six other investigators have been working the case for months and have interviewed more than 100 people, said they also conducted extensive geofencing analysis of cell phones and tablets not belonging to Crooks that were found with him at his home, at the rifle range where he took target practice, at the rally and at Bethel Park High School where he graduated in 2022.
“We don’t think he acted alone,” Hagmann told The Post. “This took a lot of coordination. In my view, Crooks was handled by more than one individual and he was used for this [assassination attempt.] And I wouldn’t preclude the possibility that there were people at the rally itself helping him.”

😆Amazon founder Jeff Bezos had a secret relationship with Donald Trump long before anyone knew, which will likely further enrage Washington Post staffers after the billionaire owner radically overhauled the newspaper's opinion section.
Axios has revealed that Bezos called Trump in July and urged him to pick Doug Burgum as his running mate.
The call, which was arranged by Burgum, occurred after Trump was nearly assassinated at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Bezos reportedly commended Trump for how he handled himself after he was shot in the ear.
His endorsement of Burgum, who was the governor of North Dakota at the time, wasn't enough to get him the vice presidency. That title went to former Ohio Senator JD Vance, who was recommended to Trump by his eldest son Don Jr.
Burgum wasn't totally snubbed, as he was selected then confirmed by the Senate to be the next Secretary of the Interior.
Bezos had this friendly conversation with the president three months before he ordered the Washington Post editorial board not to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in October.

A nonprofit group has filed an ethics complaint against GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw for the lawmaker appearing to have said he would "kill" media personality Tucker Carlson.
The complaint was filed with the House's Office of Congressional Ethics by the American Accountability Foundation.
The group says it filed the complaint based on chamber rules about "conduct unbecoming of a member of the House."
During the interview with a British journalist, Crenshaw, a retired Navy SEAL, also said he has never met the ex-Fox News opinion show host but also appeared to say he was "the worst f–ing person ever."
Crenshaw denied on X that he threatened to kill Carlson after GOP Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene asked him about it, writing "lol, no."

What do the Social Media influencers from today have in common?
What a humiliation ritual for them.

The FBI is entering a new era—one that will be defined by integrity, accountability, and the unwavering pursuit of justice. There will be no cover-ups, no missing documents, and no stone left unturned — and anyone from the prior or current Bureau who undermines this will be swiftly pursued and brought to justice. If there are gaps in the Epstein investigation, we will find them. If records have been hidden, we will uncover them. And we will bring everything we find to the DOJ to be fully assessed and transparently disseminated to the American people as it should be. The oath we take is to the law and the Constitution, and under my leadership, that promise will be upheld without compromise.

the Art of a Hype…."The Epstein Files".
President Trump has rolled back constraints on American commanders to authorize airstrikes and special operation raids outside conventional battlefields, broadening the range of people who can be targeted, according to U.S. officials with knowledge of the policy shift.
The quiet but seismic recalibration dismantles Biden-era mandates and signals a return to more aggressive counterterrorism policies Trump first instituted in his first term.
