He is reliving episodes and expects others to know those that he has encountered, they lock people up like that for one reason. The stories he tells are not coherent and they will assume he has a mental issue. I dealt with a guy like that at the VA once, and he wasn't aware that he had been diagnosed with a mental disorder for that exact reason, and he was there for years. When I explained to him this, he was shocked and was extremely grateful for me giving him his life back.
