The Trump Organization has submitted a $196 million (ÂŁ150m) planning application to build more than 500 houses and new sports facilities at its Aberdeenshire golf resort.
President Trump’s family firm wants to build 500 houses, 50 hotel cottages and an equestrian center at Trump International Golf Links in Balmedie. The residential properties will range from £295,000 to several million.
The company has already been granted outline approval for the second phase of development at the course, which also include a sports facility and shops.
The first phase included a championship golf course, clubhouse and hotel. It attracted opposition from green campaigners and some locals, who wanted the area's protected sand dunes to remain free from development.
Anger grew last month when the Scottish government's environment watchdog, Scottish Natural Heritage, concluded the development had 'partially destroyed' the protected site.
However, a wind farm off the coast which was bitterly opposed by Mr Trump over fears it would spoil the views for golfers, is now up and generating electricity.
The Trump Organization said the latest phase would support nearly 2,000 jobs across Aberdeenshire during construction, and provide nearly 300 permanent jobs
