Feds Bust Massive Human Trafficking Operation

Federal agents have arrested two Guatemalan men accused of operating one of the biggest human smuggling operations in the United States.

The two men were arrested in Los Angeles and have been accused of trafficking 20,000 illegal immigrants into the U.S. since 2019.

Eduardo Domingo Renoj-Matul and Cristobal Mejia-Chaj were arrested on Friday and are being held without bond.

U.S. Attorney Joseph McNally stated, “The indictment and arrests here have dismantled one of the country’s largest and most dangerous smuggling organizations.”
