In her 2017 documentary, Simply Complicated, she said her first encounter with drinking and partying was in high school, and it all escalated during her Disney Channel days. She said she “loved” it. “My dad was an addict and an alcoholic. Guess I always searched for what he found in drugs and alcohol because it fulfilled him and he chose that over a family,” she said in the film.
