Couple 'forced' to sit next to dead body for hours on Qatar Airways flightTuesday 25 February 2025 22:11, UK

A couple have said they were forced to sit next to a dead body for four hours on a Qatar Airways flight.

Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin were travelling from Melbourne to Doha, en route to Italy, when a woman walked out the toilet and collapsed near their row about 10 hours into the journey.

"Unfortunately the lady couldn't be saved, which was pretty heartbreaking to watch," Mr Ring told Australia's A Current Affair program.

He added: "They tried to wheel her up towards business class, but she was quite a large lady and they couldn't get her through the aisle."

The pair, who were the only ones in a row of four, said flight attendants put the woman in one of the spare seats for the remaining four hours of the flight.

Mr Ring told Australian media: "They said, 'Can you move over please?' and I just said, 'Yes no problem'."Then they placed the lady in the chair I was in."He said there were a few spare seats nearby but claimed crew didn't offer to move them.

Mr Ring also said he was told to stay put while medical teams removed blankets covering the woman when they landed, and that they were offered no support.

In a statement to Sky's US partner network NBC News, Qatar Airways said: "First and foremost our thoughts are with the family of the passenger who sadly passed away on board our flight.

"We apologise for any inconvenience or distress this incident may have caused, and are in the process of contacting passengers in line with our policies and procedures."

The nowfags of society. Understandably people are suffering, however most would probably be dead by now. This isn’t an overnight change given the amount of years and the depth of corruption has been taking place. Anons know.

What to Do if You Get a Popcorn Kernel Stuck in Your Gums

Rinse Your Mouth With Warm Salt Water

Warm salt water is a great way to flush out food debris and popcorn kernels from between your teeth and in your gum tissue. Besides helping remove annoying popcorn kernels from your teeth, salt water is actually good for maintaining oral health. It helps clean your pearly whites and can even make toothaches go away.

To make a saltwater rinse, add ½ teaspoon of salt to a glass of warm water and stir for about thirty seconds. Once the salt has dissolved, it’s ready to rinse. You can even pour the mix into a Waterpik and use it on a low setting to flush out any popcorn debris from your teeth.

The first real experiments with daylight saving time began during World War I. On April 30, 1916, Germany and Austria implemented a one-hour clock shift to conserve electricity needed for the war effort. The United Kingdom and several other European nations adopted daylight saving shortly after that, and the United States followed suit in 1918. (While Germany and Austria were the first countries to implement daylight savings, the first towns to implement a seasonal time shift were Port Arthur and Fort William, Canada in 1908.)

Most Americans only saw the time adjustment as a wartime act, and it was later repealed in 1919. Standard time ruled until 1942, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt re-instituted daylight saving during World War II. This time, more states continued using daylight saving after the conflict ended, but for decades there was little consistency with regard to its schedule. Finally, in 1966, Congress passed the Uniform Time Act, which standardized daylight saving across the country and established its start and end times in April and October (later changed to March and November in 2007).

Trump’s Stance on Daylight Saving Time

Before assuming office, President Trump expressed his desire to eliminate Daylight Saving Time altogether. In a December 2024 post on Truth Social, he stated:

"The Republican Party will use its best efforts to eliminate Daylight Saving Time, which has a small but strong constituency, but shouldn’t! Daylight Saving Time is inconvenient and very costly to our Nation."

Despite his firm stance, Trump has yet to introduce any executive action to abolish or alter the time change. The White House has not provided a formal response regarding potential policy changes.
