Kek. Would imagine that is probably accurate, or not accurate at all.

Whiskey production in the United States began with European settlers and colonists bringing their distillation knowledge to the new continent. The first licensed whiskey distillery in the United States was the Old Bushmills Distillery in Northern Ireland, established in 1608, which remains the oldest whiskey distillery in the world.

In the late 18th century, the Whiskey Rebellion occurred in the United States when a federal excise tax on whiskey production was imposed, leading to widespread discontent among farmers.

President George Washington eventually sent a militia to quell the rebellion, and the tax was repealed in 1801 under President Thomas Jefferson.
