My recommendation. Hard assets. Basic essentials foremost, have extras of anything you need to live day to day. Having some extra shoes and boots long-term not a bad idea. Long-term food storage, canned or stored in totes (pasta, beans, rice, flour, sugar, oatmeal, grits, split peas, spices etc)…. source of clean water, or some kind of water storage…. arms/ammo to defend yourselves and private property…. maybe some silver or gold coins to preserve some of your wealth.
Value of silver and gold is set to BOOM during the coming European-Russian war. Wealth is being transferred to the US as we speak.

You can wipe your harddrive and try out Linux, or just buy an official ISO copy of Windows 7 with the activation code and repartition the drive with it.
Yup, I have an ISO of Windows 7 with an activation key. If my OS ever gives me a problem… (rarely does since I debloated it and have auto-updates turned off)… I can always just re-install it. I have offline backups of all my software, media and files anyway, so I won't lose anything if I do need to repartition the drive.

Probably need the OS on a physical copy (disc or USB) to repartition the drive and install it onto the SSD. Typically the way it has been done for years.
