Nearly a month before his Inauguration he revived an idea for the U.S. to buy Greenland for, as he put it on his personal social media platform Truth Social, “purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World.” And he quite reasonably demands that Canada contribute much more seriously to NATO and North America’s defence. Trump may habitually overstate his case, but his core messages are clear.
