Footage circulating on social media reportedly shows a man in Toronto keying a neighbor’s Tesla before walking into his apartment.

Keying a car involves deliberately scratching its paint with a key or sharp object, normally as an act of vandalism.

Little does the man realize that the entire incident has been caught by the vehicle’s camera.

According to Tesla’s website, this feature is known as “Sentry Mode,” which is part of the company’s high-level security offerings.

”When enabled, your vehicle’s cameras and sensors (if equipped) remain powered on and ready to record suspicious activity around your vehicle when Model 3 is locked and in Park,” the website states.

”Think of Sentry Mode as an intelligent vehicle security system that alerts you when it detects possible threats nearby.”

Unfortunately because the man is in Canada, he is unlikely to face the same severity of prosecution that he would in the United States.

Under Canadian law, keying a car is a criminal offense under the Criminal Code, typically charged as Mischief (Section 430).

Penalties range from a summary conviction, up to two years less a day in jail and/or fines, to an indictable offense carrying up to ten years imprisonment for significant damage.

Manitoba Justice Minister Matt Wiebe's new bill would enshrine 'gender expression' in the province's Human Rights Code, and 'cover anything from behavior or appearance, such as dress, hair, make-up, body language and voice.'

The far-left government running the Province of Manitoba has introduced a bill that could see one’s refusal to acknowledge a person’s request to be referred to by non-biological “preferred pronouns” considered a violation of the law.

Bill 43, known as the Human Rights Code Amendment Act, was introduced by the ruling New Democratic Party’s Justice Minister Matt Wiebe on Tuesday.

The new law, if passed, adds “gender expression” as a protected category under the province’s Human Rights Code.

According to Wiebe, the law would “cover anything from behavior or appearance, such as dress, hair, make-up, body language and voice.”

Wiebe also said the law would extend to kids, effectively mandating that their “preferred pronouns” be protected under the law. This would mean that it would be considered discriminatory under the law to refer to a boy as “he” if he were to desire to be called “she.”

While Manitoba opted to vote in the far-left NDP in its last election, nearby provinces such as Alberta and Saskatchewan have put in place laws that explicitly deal with gender ideology-based pronoun use, requiring schools to inform parents if a child makes such a request.

The latest move is in line with previous actions taken by Premier Wab Kinew and his NDP government, who since taking office have passed multiple anti-life and anti-family laws, including the prohibiting of pro-life activism outside of abortion mills and the official recognition of radical gender ideology.

Molly Banerjei, the CEO of the Canadian organization dedicated to getting governments from all levels to declare December in recognition of Christianity, said that her initiative is being met with “angry” resistance by “atheists” who are trying to “unravel” momentum gained last year.

“Our atheist friends have become very angry with the results of Christian Heritage Month,” she said, per a recent Western Standard report.

“And so they’re going through our website and, one by one, they’re doing their very best to unravel it. But they’ve been successful in three cities so far.”

The EC claimed that if Russia were to achieve its objectives in Ukraine, it would expand its ambitions to take more European territory by the year 2030.

This new white paper is an apparent response to statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump that the U.S. may no longer unconditionally serve as a guarantor of peace in Europe.

“The security architecture on which we have relied can no longer be taken for granted,” von der Leyen said during the presentation of the white paper. The EU would now have to invest in its own defense and military capabilities, she noted.

The White Paper also warns that dependencies on U.S. military capabilities have been too high in Europe.

To finance these militarization plans, the EC issued proposals two weeks earlier that include EU loans amounting to 150 billion euros and allowances to take on more debt than usually allowed by EU rules. Part of these funds are meant to directly support Ukraine in the ongoing war with Russia.

Recently, the French government announced it is working on a “survival manual” for every household to prepare citizens for catastrophic events, including war. The booklet includes information on how to join the military reserves. French President Emmanuel Macron announced earlier this month that he wants “a major overhaul” of France’s military, including bolstering the number of operational reservists from 40,000 to 100,000 by 2035.

The Canadian Globe and Mail newspaper received confirmation from the nation’s government on Wednesday that the Chinese Communist Party killed four Canadians imprisoned on allegations of “drug-related offenses.”

The Canadian Department of Global Affairs did not name the individuals or specify what crimes they allegedly committed. Other details, such as when these individuals were killed and how, were also omitted from the report. The National Post reported that, while the Globe and Mail listed four victims, neither Ottawa nor Beijing confirmed a final number of Canadians killed this year by the Chinese government.

Canadian furniture maker Prepac is moving all of its production to the United States following the threat of tariffs on Canadian goods from President Donald Trump.

According to Unifor, Canada’s largest private sector union, Prepac is closing its manufacturing plant in Delta, British Columbia, to move all production to its manufacturing plant in North Carolina, which opened in 2021.

As a result, more than 170 Canadians will lose their jobs at the British Columbia plant. Unifor representatives suggested that those jobs will be moved to North Carolina.

“Our union has been warning about lost investment and production since Trump began his economic war on Canada and Canadian workers,” Unifor National President Lana Payne said in a statement. “In this case, Prepac and its equity owners are using the tariffs as an excuse to redirect all their production to the U.S. It’s pure greed.”

Alberta, Canada’s most energy-rich region, is seeing the fastest rise in energy poverty, according to a new report from the Fraser Institute.

The study reveals that between 2019 and 2021, the share of Albertans experiencing energy poverty — defined as spending more than 10% of household income on energy costs — jumped by over 80%.

That's despite Alberta’s abundant oil and gas resources.

In fact, one in five households are experiencing some form of energy poverty across the country, according to authors Elmira Aliakbari and Kevin Chan.

The report found that 20.7% of households earning between $31,200 and $55,000 experience energy poverty. Among households earning less than $31,200, the rate rises to 22.1%.

While Alberta’s increase is the most striking, Atlantic Canada continues to have the highest overall rate of energy poverty, with 24.6% of households affected. Saskatchewan also has a relatively high rate at 13.9%, while British Columbia has the lowest at 8.1%.

One factor contributing to the variation across provinces is energy pricing. British Columbia and Quebec, which benefit from abundant hydroelectric power, have among the lowest electricity costs in North America. Continue…

“There is a major medical scandal unfolding in Canada, and our media is fueling it,” wrote report author Mia Hughes, an MLI senior fellow who specializes in pediatric gender medicine and psychiatric epidemics.

“In gender clinics across the country, doctors put healthy adolescents on invasive medical procedures that can impair fertility, sexual function, and bone density, damage bodily systems, and result in the removal of healthy organs,” she continued.

Since taking office from Justin Trudeau a week ago, Carney on Tuesday admitted that he will “probably” have to recuse himself from certain governmental matters due to potential conflicts of interest. The prime minister made the concession shortly after lashing out at a reporter when asked whether his large private investment holdings present an ethical issue.

During a Tuesday press conference in Canada’s Arctic, Carney was asked directly if he would have to recuse himself from certain governmental matters in a similar way as to what was required by former Liberal Prime Minister Paul Martin.

“Yes. We are having discussions, and a trust has been created,” he answered, adding that “along with the Ethics Commissioner, probably some screens will be put in place.”

Carney said that his “assets” have been put in a “blind trust well in advance of the requirements.”

“So they’ve been disposed of. But what happens is that there’s a discussion with the Ethics Commissioner for certain screens around certain issues, and that’s a process that is underway,” he added.

“It’s a natural process, and of course, it’s part of the way our system works. And I very much respect the system and those screens become public as they’re developed.”

He was then asked why he did not disclose any potential conflicts of interest in a forthcoming manner. He said this was a question for the “Ethics Commissioner if there is anything that has a major impact, then it’s clear there will be a screen.”

“I can say we are working quickly. I’m working quickly when it comes to those issues.”

Carney’s Tuesday statements came shortly after he lashed out at Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reporter Rosemary Barton when the journalist pressed him on his assets. One of Canada’s prominent agricultural advocacy groups warned that should the federal Liberal government impose counter-tariffs on the United States, it could make growing food more expensive and would be a nightmare for Canadian farmers and consumers.

According to Grain Growers of Canada (GGC) executive director Kyle Larkin, the cost of phosphate fertilizer, which Canada does not make, would shoot up should the Mark Carney Liberal government enact counter-tariffs to U.S. President Donald Trump’s.

Larkin said recently that there is no “domestic phosphate production here (in Canada), so we rely on imports, and the United States is our major supplier.”

“A 25% tariff on phosphate fertilizer definitely would have an impact on grain farmers,” he added.

According to Statistics Canada, from 2018 to 2023, Canada imported about 4.12 million tonnes of fertilizer from the United States. This amount included 1.46 million tonnes of monoammonium phosphates (MAP) as well as 92,027 tonnes of diammonium phosphate (DAP).

Also imported were 937,000 tonnes of urea, 310,158 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, and 518,232 tonnes of needed fertilizers that have both nitrogen and phosphorus.

According to Larkin, although most farmers have purchased their fertilizer for 2025, they would be in for a rough 2026 should the 25 percent tariffs on Canadian exports by the U.S. still stand.

Larkin noted how Canadian farmers are already facing “sky-high input costs and increased government regulations and taxation.”

He said the potential “tariff on fertilizer is a massive concern.”

“If Ottawa goes ahead, we’re calling on them to compensate producers,” he said, adding that any funds raised through tariffs on “essential products like fertilizer should go back to the producer.” Continue…
