π¨ Secret Service agents shot and injured a man carrying a firearm near the White House early Sunday after an intense confrontation. Authorities had been alerted Saturday by Indiana police about a potentially suicidal individual traveling to Washington.
Just after midnight, agents located the manβs vehicle parked near 17th and F Streets by the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, adjacent to the White House. As officers approached, the suspect displayed a firearm, triggering the armed exchange.
While the man was hospitalized in unknown condition, no agents were injured. Share your thoughts below.
