Infowars reporter Jamie White 'brutally murdered' outside home in Austin as Alex Jones blames Soros-backed DA
A reporter for conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' InfoWars was brutally murdered outside his south Austin apartment late on Sunday night.
Jamie White was found badly wounded outside his home on Douglas Street around midnight in a slaying that Jones blamed on Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza.
Officers from Austin Police Department responded to 911 calls reporting a man with 'obvious signs of trauma.'
White was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Police have called the incident a homicide but have not identified any suspects. The slaying had been investigated as a shooting/stabbing but authorities have not released additional information.
In a fiery and emotional video on Monday afternoon, Jones did not hold back in assigning blame, squarely targeting the district attorney.
'I lay all of this squarely at the feet of Soros and of the sort of crime syndicate of the Democratic Party. They are the ones that administratively cut the police, prosecuted the police, and even cases that are hundred percent clear to be lawful, legal activities,' Jones ranted.
'You murdered Jamie White, you opened the door, you created the climate, you created conditions on purpose. George Soros. Alexander Soros, you murdered Jamie White.'
'These are sick, degenerate, evil people that know what they're doing and they aided and abetted. They are accomplices to the murder of a great American and Infowars long time veteran reporter Jamie White.'
Garza is known for his progressive policies and his campaign was backed by billionaire financier George Soros' Open Society Foundations.
Jones claimed that White's death was the inevitable result of what he called 'vicious policies' by Soros-backed DAs like Garza, whom he accused of intentionally undermining law enforcement and letting violent criminals roam free.
Jones also cited unnamed Austin police officers and detectives as sources, claiming that many in law enforcement are frustrated and demoralized by what they see as Garza's refusal to prosecute dangerous offenders.
The Austin Police Department has so far not publicly commented on any political links.
Austin has struggled recently with rising violent crime, a trend critics say has worsened under Garza's tenure as DA since 2021 after he won the position with the backing of national progressive groups advocating for criminal justice reform.
Soros’ donation came a year after his non-profit funneled $652,000 to the Texas Justice and Public Safety PAC group that backed the election of Jose Garza, who assumed office as Travis County DA, based in Austin.
Soros’ Open Society Policy Center also donated $500,000 to Equity PAC, a Texas-based group that funds progressive causes and was working to oppose a ballot proposition that would have seen the capital city of Austin hire hundreds of new police officers amid a spike in violent crime.
But the proposition was overwhelmingly defeated in 2020 thanks to Soros’ cash injection which funded ad campaigns throughout Austin. Garza then won his re-election in 2024 keeping him in the role for a further four years.
'When you see Soros seizing control of over 800 jurisdictions protecting serious narcotics gangs and human trafficking gangs and you when you see different feds and ICE calling and warning some of those violent gangs in the world that there's ICE raids coming,' Jones began in a 15 minute ramble.
'There are so many communist traitors in the government that they're having to polygraph now to find out who's doing it. This is a crisis and again, defunding the police. All of this is meant to destabilize the collapse society,' Jones ranted.
Jones suggested the murder may have been a targeted attack, raising questions about whether White's work as an InfoWars reporter might have made him a marked man.
'There are a lot of really cool people that have worked at Infowars over the years, and one of the most amazing people was Jamie White. You know him as a great reporter and researcher,' Jones said in Monday's video message.
'He was up here last night working late during the Sunday show and after it Jaime was murdered last night outside of his home just a few miles away from our studios.
'He's always here early, loves to work, loves to fight tyranny, love, promote freedom. And when they got to the apartment complex, there was yellow tape everywhere and blood all over the parking lot. And we went and talked to the manager. They didn't know anything,' Jones explained.
InfoWars, founded by Jones, has been embroiled in controversy for years over its inflammatory far-right content and conspiracy theories.
InfoWars vowed to honor Jamie White's memory by continuing his work, promising that his 'tragic death will not be in vain.'
'This was a great American. A man of conviction. And they killed him,' Jones said, visibly shaken. 'But we will never stop fighting for justice. For Jamie. For everyone who's been a victim of this engineered crime wave.'

Secretary Scott Turner Cuts Red Tape by Terminating AFFH Rule
Today, Secretary Scott Turner announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will terminate the Biden-era 2021 Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule, cutting costly red tape imposed on localities and returning decision-making power to local and state governments. The Biden-era AFFH rule was, in effect a “zoning tax,” which fueled an increase in the cost and a decrease in the supply of affordable housing due to restrictions on local land.
“Local and state governments understand the needs of their communities much better than bureaucrats in Washington D.C. Terminating this rule restores trust in local communities and property owners, while protecting America’s suburbs and neighborhood integrity,” Secretary Turner said.
“By terminating the AFFH rule, localities will no longer be required to complete onerous paperwork and drain their budgets to comply with the extreme and restrictive demands made up by the federal government. This action also returns decisions on zoning, home building, transportation, and more to local leaders. As HUD returns to the original understanding and enforcement of the law without onerous compliance requirements, we can better serve rural, urban and tribal communities that need access to fair and affordable housing.
“We are aware of communities that have been neglected or negatively impacted due to the demands of recent AFFH rules. Returning to the law as written will advance market-driven development and allow American neighborhoods to flourish.”
The Fair Housing Act (FHA) was passed as part of the Civil Rights Act of 1968. The law prohibits housing discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin. It also requires federal agencies and recipients of federal housing funds to affirmatively further fair housing.
In 2015, the Obama administration introduced the AFFH rule, which expanded the role of the federal government in local zoning decisions by increasing the certification process. It mandated the completion of complex jurisdictional and regional analysis, submission of a 92-question grading tool, and an analysis of impediments.
In 2020, the first Trump administration terminated the Obama-era 2015 AFFH rule, which “proved to be costly, complicated, and ineffective.” In 2021, the Biden administration restored the main provisions of the 2015 AFFH rule.
With Secretary Turner’s action, a locality’s certification that it has affirmatively furthered fair housing, in accordance with the Fair Housing Act, would be deemed sufficient.
