thank you for your service anon. looking forward to seeing your friends picture. How old are you (a range) and how did you find the chan? you seem pretty proficient here.
Have a COKE on me
No it's not. Here's some more for you.
wow I haven't seen anyone that young in any of the posts in my area! I was thinking you'd be at least 60!!!!!!!!! Thank you for your service, I am but one year older than you.
I didn't want a specific age… just a range. I was thinking you were over 50+
are there many other younger members regardless of active status?
EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't serve because I'm deaf. Would love to serve but they don't hire mechanics and such unless you get through basic training and now I'm nearly too old.
kek I should have figured that one out before I took my fuel tank out of a 2004 chevy express 4 times. It was a bad ground.
yeah I have heard of one guy getting partway through training in the reserves that was deaf but that's a very rare occurrence.
I'm sure. I've done handyman work in 5 different states… traveled as far east as Washington, DC and as far west as Farmington, NM…. now I'm a homebody but I'm itching to travel some more again.
The guy's name is Keith Nolan. I believe there is one more guy who is much younger but I didn't find him with a quick google search. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/let-deaf-americans-serve-their-country/2011/07/20/gIQACHUhSI_story.html?utm_term=.27ba8bcd12cc
You're welcome. Actually Keith is the guy I'm thinking of I'm pretty sure. I thought there was another guy who went through the classes with a interp but he's probably the one.
On another note it is now MUCH easier to become a deaf truck driver. I'm not deaf deaf so it'd be easy for me but they're letting full-deaf people be truck drivers now… waiving the hearing test. That is awesome news.
>I was actually driving just the other day and proceeded to pull over because an ambulance was coming a bit over a quarter mile or so behind me and my brother asked what the hell I was doing as he didn't hear the sirens kek.
yeah I often notice them before my wife does too but it's 50/50
KYS
kek yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been here daily since January 2-12 hours a day…. nothing fazes me now. Even dead people with sticks through them…. who cares…. ignore it and move on. Just like workin' at a butcher shop.
