Group sues DHS for records on Walz’s connections to the Chinese Communist Party, urged DHS Secretary Kristi Noem to "quickly release any records."
Walz’s numerous trips to China became a major issue of his 2024 vice presidential run as the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Accountability launched an investigation into the governor’s “longstanding connections to Chinese Communist Party (CCP) entities and officials.”
Investigations into the CCP’s broader efforts to infiltrate and influence various sectors of the United States to influence American elected officials are ongoing. “Mr. Walz has visited China dozens of times, served as a fellow at a Chinese institution that maintains a devotion to the CCP, and spoke alongside the President of a Chinese organization the State Department exposed as a CCP effort to influence and co-opt local leaders,” said Comer when he announced the Walz investigation in August.
The FBI investigates CCP activity that is similar to China’s engagement with Governor Walz. The American people deserve to fully understand how deep Governor Walz’s relationship with China goes,” added the chairman.
A whistleblower included a screenshot of an internal message among DHS employees in which one DHS official said: “Walt’s [sic] got the Vp. You all have no idea how this feeds into what prc [People’s Republic of China] has been doing here with him and local gov. It’s seriously a line of the intel. Target someone who is perceived they can get to DC.”
In a letter to former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Comer said the message “shows DHS officials with subject matter expertise discussing, on the same day Vice President Kamala Harris selected Governor Walz as her running mate, the CCP’s targeting of Governor Walz.”
“A whistleblower has provided further information to the Committee that indicates officials from DHS’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) have been involved in the Department’s investigative and/or intelligence work connected with the CCP, the state of Minnesota, and Governor Walz.”
Biden's DHS had failed to cooperate with the investigation or produce records.

The federal government has limited but important oversight responsibilities concerning the accuracy of state voter rolls, primarily through the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993. It sets specific requirements for how states must maintain voter rolls. The DOJ can file lawsuits against states that do not follow NVRA requirements.
The federal government does not directly audit state voter rolls; however, through the DOJ, it can investigate and take legal action if states fail to comply with NVRA requirements. Additionally, organizations and individuals can file lawsuits if they believe states are not properly maintaining their voter rolls.
DOGE could assist in allowing key federal datasets to be queried to resolve identity, residency, and citizenship in voter registration records - and making all findings public.
True The Vote's arduous process of collecting and normalizing state data is done and ready to go. But the best source for comprehensive data is a federal government limited query for verification purposes, which can be easily achieved.

There has been some argument in my house about Trump’s tariffs on Canada, and indeed the rest of the world. I’m on the American side; why should the Americans pay for everything? Because they do. They pay for Europe’s defense; they allow every single country to tariff American products while allowing their goods in for pennies. When anyone, anywhere is in trouble, who do they call? The Yanks. Where do the pleas of all the desperate people all over the world land? America. Who did the Israeli captives hope for? Trump and the Americans. (Actually just Trump. They didn’t think that the Biden people would lift a finger. Which they didn’t.)
Please explain why these countries, numbering 550 million people, cannot defend themselves? Are they broke?.
