Whitney Webb was hard left for her entire life, long before she ever heard of Trump, so all her friends and social relationships were constructed in the leftist "reality tunnel." She is not an idiot in the manner that typical leftists are idiots. But she is not a devotee of Orange Man Rad. Attached meme is surprisingly appropriate.

There is nothing inherently wrong with a legitimate former president exerting a strong influence. In this case, however, Obama may have had illegitimate bases for his election, and also the influence may have been mainly from Podesta and his ilk, not from Obama personally.

But if a former president like (e.g.) Gerald Ford or Calvin Coolidge were to exert a strong influence on later presidents, that would not be illegal.
