The Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated Carney on Taiwan's behalf for winning the Liberal Party's leadership. Taiwan’s ties with Canada have grown in the past few years on all fronts, the ministry said in a statement, adding that it is working with Canada’s major parties to bolster support for Taiwan and ensure the continued growth of bilateral relations.
