Moscow invites Musk to collaborate on Mars exploration

Russia and the US should work together for “the glory of humanity, not its destruction,” sovereign wealth fund head and economic envoy Kirill Dmitriev has said

Russian sovereign wealth fund head Kirill Dmitriev has pitched a US-Russia partnership for Mars exploration to Elon Musk. In a post on X on Saturday,Dmitriev, who has also taken on the role of chief economic envoy in the US-Russia talks, noted the importance of space collaboration between the two countries “for the glory of humanity.”

Dmitriev’s remarks came in response to Musk’s announcement of a planned 2026 Mars mission. The SpaceX founder stated that the company’s Starship spacecraft is set to depart for Mars next year and will be carrying a Tesla humanoid bot called Optimus. Musk also suggested that human landings on Mars could begin as early as 2029.

Trump launches ‘powerful military action’ against Houthis

The US president demanded the Yemeni-based militants stop their attacks on ships immediately or face “hell”

The US has launched a major military operation against the Yemeni-based Houthi militants, President Donald Trump said on Saturday.The effort involves air strikes on their “bases, leaders, and missile defenses,” he said, adding that it wasaimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the adjacent waters.

Dozens of Ukrainian drones shot down over Russia – MOD

Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted anddestroyed 126 Ukrainian drones across various regions overnight, the Defense Ministry has reported. Most of the UAVs were neutralized over Volgograd and Voronezh regions.

According to the Telegram channel Shot, the attackaimed at Volgograd included up to 20 explosions, reportedly targeting a local oil refinery. Regional Governor Andrey Bocharov reported on Saturday morning that drone debris caused a small fire which was quickly extinguished, and confirmed there were no injuries or damage to infrastructure.

In Belgorod, residential buildings sustained damage from drone-launched explosives, with reports of broken windows and fires sparked by debris. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said no one was injured in the attack, according to preliminary data.

On Tuesday morning, Kiev launched a major multi-wave attack on several Russian regions, with Russian air defenses intercepting 337 drones, including 91 over Moscow Region. The assault resulted in the deaths of three civilians and left several others injured.

Shortly after the attack, US and Ukrainian representatives met in Saudi Arabia, where they released a joint statement proposing a 30-day ceasefire to Moscow.

On Friday, hours after a meeting between US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Moscow repelled another Ukrainian drone attack.

NATO’s stance on Ukrainian membership is ultimately determined by Washington, former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has told RT.The politician was apparently unaware that he was speaking to a journalist from the Russian news outlet, which has been banned in Poland since 2022.

Ukraine has demanded membership within the US-led military bloc as a security guarantee while Moscow has cited Kiev’s ambitions to join NATO as a root cause of the conflict.

On Friday, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte told Bloomberg that Ukrainian membership is off the table in the current peace process.

RT’s Charlotte Dubenskij approached Morawiecki as he arrived in Romania later that day.The former Polish prime minister said the shift is a result of a change in US policy.

“The current reality is thatPresident Trump and the current American administration are excluding the accession of Ukraine to NATO. This is probably why… Rutte echoed what the American administration is indicating,”Morawiecki said.

He added that he personally would still like for Ukraine to join the bloc, calling the country a “kind of a buffer” between Russia and NATO members in Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland. However, he acknowledged that a “common sense” approach would be to prioritize maintaining strong ties with Washington above all else.

According to Morawiecki, without US support, “there would be no Ukraine,” and any assistance from Washington is “critically important” for Kiev.

Most EU and NATO leaders – with the notable exceptions of Hungary’s Viktor Orban and Slovakia’s Robert Fico – have pushed for continued confrontation with Russia despite Washington’s position.

European NATO countries have been supplying weapons to Kiev since the escalation of the conflict in 2022. Some member states, such as France and the UK, have floated the idea of deploying troops to Ukraine to monitor a truce.

Moscow has warned that any NATO troops deployed to Ukraine without a UN mandate would be considered legitimate targets.

Moscow must accept the US-proposed 30-day ceasefire deal and stop making “delaying statements,” French President Emmanuel Macron has stated.

Kiev agreed to a month-long truce in the Ukraine conflict following talks with the US in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. Washington subsequently resumed intelligence sharing with Ukraine and arms shipments to the country. No EU member states were represented at the negotiations.

Speaking on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that Russia is ready to discuss a ceasefire but that the terms need to be clarified to ensure it leads to a stable and permanent peace.

On Friday, following talks with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky, Macrondemanded that Moscow accept the proposed deal.(seems like they want to crash this deal)

“Russia must now accept the US-Ukrainian proposal for a 30-day ceasefire,” he wrote on X, adding that he will continue working to drum up support for Kiev going forward.

The UK has also demanded an unconditional armistice from Moscow.

Thousands take to streets in Belgrade for anti-government rally (VIDEO)Another color revolution

A car has plowed through the crowd of protesters in the Serbian capital, injuring three, according to the authorities

Belgrade for an anti-government protest, whichsome Western media outletsdescribed as “probably the biggest” in Serbia’s history. President Alexandar Vucic saidthe protesters aimed to stage a “color revolution” in the Balkan nation.

The Serbian parliament announced on Friday that its building would be closed over the weekend to prevent any possible provocations during the protest on Saturday. The decision was made “exclusively for security reasons” to ensure that the demonstration, which is expected to be held in front of the National Assembly building, “takes place without any incidents,” according to the parliament’s statement.

Videos that surfaced on social media showed large crowds flooding the streets in central Belgrade, with demonstrators waving Serbian national flags and blowing whistles. Some protesters were chanting anti-government slogans.

The Serbian police put thenumber of participantsof Saturday's demonstration at107,000. Earlier media reports had indicated that people had come to Belgrade from other parts of the country to take part in the protest. Law enforcement officials reported no major incidents or violations of the public order during the demonstration.

The protest has reportedly caused traffic disruptions across the Serbian capital. At one point, a car rammed through the crowd of protesters, injuring at least three people. A video of the incident that appeared on social media showed the vehicle driving away from the crowd with one person lying on its hood. The person then fell to the ground as the car accelerated.

The driver was subsequently arrested and those affected by the incident sustained only minor injuries, according to the authorities.

On the eve of the protest, Vucic warned that anyone causing disturbances during the rally would be arrested.

The protest follows months of student-led demonstrationsagainst alleged corruption and government negligence in Serbia. The protests were ignited by the collapse of a concrete canopy at the Novi Sad railway station in November 2024, which resulted in 15 deaths.

Public outrage ensued, with demands for the release of all documents related to the incident and for those responsible to be held accountable.

Vucic said on Friday thatthe government had agreed to meet the protesters demands, as well as offered to hold snap elections and even a referendum, but the opposition was still not satisfied.“That was not their goal, … the goal was to [stage] a color revolution in Serbia,” he added.

The president previously accused foreign actors of fueling the unrest to destabilize the country by claiming that the opposition forces werecollaborating with Western, Croatian, and Albanian intelligence agencies to overthrow the government.

Trump orders cutbacks at state-run media

The US president has signed an executive order that effectively dismantles the parent company of Voice of America and Radio Liberty (CIA)

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order aimed at significantly reducing operations at the agency that funds state-sponsored news outlets such as Voice of America and Radio Liberty.

The move is part of Trump’s drive to root out wasteful spending, bureaucracy, and corruption in the US government, which has already resulted in the cancelation of programs and significant job cuts within the federal workforce.

Signed on Friday,the executive order targets seven federal agencies, including one that provides funding for museums and one that deals with homelessness.

It also targets theUS Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which oversees the state-owned Voice of America =(VOA), along with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL)and Radio Free Asia==, which are separate not-for-profit entities that are also fully funded from the US budget. All three claim to provide unbiased news to audiences in around 100 countries, but are widely seen as propaganda outlets.

Under the order, the agencies must reduce their operations and staff to the bare minimumrequired by law. Agency heads have seven days to submit compliance plans outlining which functions are legally mandated.

Trump has frequently criticized US-funded media outlets, including VOA, accusing them of being biased. In a speech at the Department of Justice on Friday, he blasted the US media as “corrupt and illegal,” calling them “political arms of the Democrat party.” He singled out CNN and MSNBC, claiming they “literally write 97.6% bad about me,” and vowed to continue eliminating “rogue actors and corrupt forces” within the federal government.

Elon Musk, who leads Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has pushed for a complete shutdown of RFE/RL and VOA. In a post on X last month, the tech billionaire labeled them“radical left crazy people talking to themselves while torching $1B/year of US taxpayer money.” Since then, the Trump administration has reportedly taken nearly full control of the USAGM, imposed a 30-day freeze on its funding, and initiated layoffs, particularly among probationary employees at VOA.
