NYPD Searching For Suspect Who Set A Man On Fire Near Times Square
New York City police are searching for a suspect who set a man on fire near Time Square in the early morning hours on Sunday.
The incident took place on West 41st Street and 7th Avenue just before 4 a.m., where police responded to a 45-year-old man on fire.
The victim was seen on video with severe burn wounds, although appearing to be in stable condition.
The man was then taken to a local hospital to treat his burn wounds.
Video footage shows the victim walking shirtless alongside firefighters after the flames were put out.
Although the attack is still currently under investigation, police revealed that the victim knew his assailant. According to the New York Post, the victim was speaking with the suspect prior to the incident.
The victim reportedly ran 100 feet while on fire before he was doused with a fire extinguisher, authorities stated.
Authorities have not provided a description of the suspect as they have reportedly struggled to get a hold of security camera footage from nearby businesses.
The suspect reportedly fled north on Broadway, according to fire marshals.

More Than 200 Homes Destroyed, One Dead, Amid Devastating Wildfires In Oklahoma; State Of Emergency Declared
Governor Kevin Stitt (R-Okla.) stated that nearly 300 houses and structures have been destroyed by wildfires burning across the state and at least one person has died.
Stitt spoke at a news conference saying that there was a fatality from a vehicle accident caused by smoke in Mannford.
The governor also stated that approximately 170,000 acres have been burned.
Stitt has declared a “state of emergency” for 12 counties, which include Oklahoma, Cleveland, Creek, Dewey, Grady, Lincoln, Logan, Pawnee, Payne, Pottawatomie, Roger Mills and Stephens.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, the number of reported fires was more than 130 in 44 counties as of Friday night.
Stillwater Fire Chief Terry Essary said that in Stillwater alone, more than 50 homes and structures were impacted or lost by the wildfires.
Stitt put the number of homes and structures destroyed as of Friday night at 293. Annie Mack Vest, director of the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, said that more than 200 of that total were homes.
“We’ll be rebuilding with the rest of Oklahoma,”said Stitt. “You never think it’s going to happen to your place. And these wildfires just come out of nowhere and can really take over.”

Security experts are reportedly concerned that the scheme could expose Germany to an elevated terrorism threat
“German authorities are forcing Afghan migrants to join the International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine in order to urgently replenish the personnel of the Kiev regime’s armed forces, which is experiencing an acute shortage of people.”
The scheme supposedly involves approximately 2,300 refugees detained by German police for various crimes in cities such as Berlin, Bonn, Cologne, Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt am Main, and Stuttgart.
“In the event of refusal to sign the relevant contract and go to Ukraine, the migrants are threatened with guaranteed extradition to Afghanistan,” the source claimed.
Last month, Bild reported that at least one recruitment center belonging to Ukraine’s neo-Nazi Azov brigade was operating near Berlin. A recruiter told the media outlet that they were seeking “supporters for our new international battalion.”
Russian authorities have consistently prosecuted foreign nationals caught fighting for Kiev, whom they describe as mercenaries. In January, a Russian court sentenced retired US Army Ranger Patrick Creed to 13 years in prison for serving with the Ukrainian military from 2022 to 2023. In March, British citizen James Scott Rhys Anderson was handed a 19-year sentence for participating in Ukraine’s incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region.
