Trump Admin Ends Translation Services for Immigration Agency After Declaring English the Official U.S. Language

The Trump administration has directed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to end language translation services for people calling for information about their immigration or employment status or their benefits.

 

In keeping with his March 1 order making English the official language of the United States, the president hasdirected the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to cancel a contract with a translation service provider, according to Government Executive magazine.

 

The translation service was offered to migrants calling the department for information about their status under E-Verify and other government programs.

 

The administration is also now directingagency call center employees to terminate any call from a caller who can’t make his needs known in English.

 

The formal guidelines are forthcoming, the administration notes.

 

The termination of the Legal Interpreting Services, Inc., is part of the administration’s government wide comprehensive review of the rationale for each contract it pays out.The translation service for USCIS would have cost upwards to $587,000 on a contractthat was first awarded in 2022, the magazine added.

 

DHS also has awider contract with Legal Interpreting Services costing the government about $3.6 million. It is not yet known if these translation services will also be targeted for cancellation in other departments.

 

USCIS has made no public statement on the cancellation of its translation services.

 

Advocates for illegal aliens say that the cancellation of the translation service will complicate the lives of migrants. (maybe but Americans work)

 

“Lack of interpretation services will only make it harder for many workers and families whose dominant language is not English from being able to correct immigration status errors in these databases,” said American Immigration Council representative Adriel Orozco. “This risks people being wrongly denied benefits or being unfairly terminated from their jobs.”

 

The president signed an executive order this month making English the official language of the United States, a move many advocates have been wanting for decades.

 

“A nationally designated language is at the core of a unified and cohesive society, and the United States is strengthened by a citizenry that can freely exchange ideas in one shared language,” Trump’s March 1 order reads.

 

Trump’s order specifically noted that “new Americans” must be “encouraged” to learn English “to achieve the American dream.”

 

“Speaking English not only opens doors economically, but it helps newcomers engage in their communities, participate in national traditions, and give back to our society,” the order noted.

Trump’s Border Prosecutors Charge 855 with Immigration Law Violations Last Week

President Donald Trump’s border-state prosecutors charged more than 855 illegal aliens and U.S. citizens with violations of immigration laws last week. The federal criminal prosecutions illustrate new consequences for human smuggling, illegally crossing the border, or re-entering after removal.

 

During the past week, prosecutors for the U.S. Attorneys for five border-state districts charged more than 750 people with crimes related to immigration law. At least 460 of those were charged in Texas-based districts. The prosecutions are part of Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Operation Take Back America.

 

The most significant number of filed cases came in the Southern District of Texas, where prosecutors filed 245 cases. The majority of these cases involved illegal aliens with criminal histories.

 

The cases include charges against previously deported child sex offenders, an Arkansas man smuggling aliens in the wheel well and trunk of a work truck, A Mexican national who fled to avoid arrest after illegally crossing the border, and a Honduran migrant who pretended to be an unaccompanied minor.

 

Prosecutors said, “A total 118 face charges of illegally entering the country, 10 cases involve various instances of human smuggling, and the remainder relate to firearms and assault of federal officers.

 

Next door, in the Western District of Texas, prosecutors filed 215 new immigration cases in four days. The charges followed arrests in Austin, Midland-Odessa, and other regions of the western border between Texas and Mexico.

 

These cases involved criminal aliens convicted of child sex crimes, intoxication manslaughter, terroristic threats, domestic violence, identity theft, human smuggling, and one man who had been deported eight times.

 

In the District of New Mexico, prosecutors filed 65 criminal cases against migrants and human smugglers. These include criminal aliens with convictions or charges for drug trafficking, burglary, illegal re-entry after removal, kidnapping, and assault on a federal officer.

 

The New Mexico U.S. Attorney stated:

 

38 individuals were charged this week with Illegal Reentry After Deportation (8 U.S.C. 1326)

5 individuals were charged this week with Alien Smuggling (8 U.S.C. 1324)

22 individuals were charged this week with Illegal Entry (8 U.S.C. 1325)

The U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona reports more than 230 people were charged with “immigration-related criminal conduct.”..

Specifically, the United States filed 92 cases in which aliens illegally re-entered the United States, and the United States also charged 124 aliens for illegally entering the United States. In its ongoing effort to deter unlawful immigration, the United States also filed 11 cases against 15 individuals responsible for smuggling illegal aliens into and within the District of Arizona. Protecting law enforcement officers is a key part of border vigilance, and federal prosecutors also charged one defendant for assaulting a Border Patrol agent.

 

In the Southern District of California, prosecutors brought charges in more than 100 border-related criminal cases.

 

Prosecutors reported, “A representative sample of border-related arrests this week includes:”

 

On March 8, 2025, Gabriel Yeraldi Gaona, a United States citizen, was arrested and charged with alien smuggling after he was caught attempting to smuggle two citizens of Mexico into the United States. Following his arrest, Gaona admitted that he crossed into the United States from Mexico by climbing over a ladder that was placed on the first border fence. The two Mexican citizens he was arrested with admitted that they are citizens of Mexico without lawful documents allowing them to enter the United States.

On March 9, 2025, Antonio Lerma Cervantes, a Mexican citizen, was arrested on drug importation charges when he attempted to cross into the U.S. from Mexico at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry with more than 60 pounds of cocaine hidden in the rear seat and quarter panels of his vehicle.

On March 12, 2025, Edy Osorio-Berrelleza, a citizen of Mexico, was arrested after he was caught attempting to transport another citizen of Mexico within the United States. After running away from a Border Patrol Agent, Osorio allegedly threw rocks at both a Customs and Border Protection helicopter and also towards Border Patrol agents. Following his arrest, Osorio admitted that he was going to be paid for the smuggling activity, and that he threw rocks at the helicopter and the agents once they were close to him. He is currently charged with alien smuggling and assault on a federal officer.

The cases last week followed a whole-of-government approach to enforcing America’s immigration laws put in place by President Donald Trump on his first day in office. Multi-agency task forces included law enforcement officers and agents from the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, ATF, U.S. Border Patrol, ICE, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested an illegal alien with prior drug trafficking convictions on Wednesday in Philadelphia, and she was not happy about it.

 

Officials with ICE, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives joined forces to nab the suspect identified as 36-year-old Virginia Basora-Gonzalez who is originally from the Dominican Republic, ICE announced on Thursday.

 

Her rap sheet included prior convictions for “attempted possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and aiding and abetting. She was previously removed from the U.S. and reentered the country without admission by an immigration official,” the agency explained.

 

Images show the moments after authorities caught the woman, who was wearing grey sweatpants and a black shirt, and who appeared to be extremely upset about being arrested:

 

Social media users posted their comments on the photos, with one person writing,“Now talk about all the families that have wept and sobbed over the loved ones they’ve lost to overdoses from the drugs that she sold. Good riddance.”

 

“Well I got nothing to say about that picture other than adios!” another user said.

 

In June 2019, she was charged with attempted possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and aiding and abetting. In March 2020, she pleaded guilty to the charges against her and was sentenced to just over 12 months confinement and four years of supervised release, ICE said.

 

The agency also noted that in October 2020, U.S. officials removed her to the Dominican Republic. The ICE announcement continued:

 

ICE issued Basora-Gonzalez a notice of intent to reinstate final order of removal March 12 and on the same day obtained a federal arrest warrant and criminal complaintfrom a U.S. magistrate judge and turned her over to the U.S. Marshals Service. She will remain in federal custody pending charges for reentry after deportation in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

 

The news comes as President Donald Trump wants to expand ICE’s detention capacity to hold more criminal illegals, Breitbart News reported on Thursday.

 

This outlet also reported recently that ICE has arrested approximately 33,000 illegal aliens across the nation since January 20 when Trump took office for a second time.

Report: 38K Chinese Illegal Aliens Living in U.S. Despite Being Ordered Deported

Close to 40,000 illegal aliens from China are now living in the United States despite having been ordered deported by a federal immigration judge, a new report suggests.

 

“Roughly 390,000 undocumented Chinese immigrants live in the US, according to the Migration Policy Institute, with more than a quarter residing in California,” The Guardian reports. “Nearly 38,000 of them are thought to have final removal orders, according to ICE data from November.”

 

The Biden administration allowed illegal immigration from China to boom in the U.S. from 2021 through 2024.Last year, for instance, the House Homeland Security Committee published southern border data showing that Chinese illegal immigration had increased to record levels.

 

The figure is significant for a country like China, whose migrants typically illegally travel through the California-Mexico border to sneak into the U.S., but are part of a larger illegal population with final deportation orders.

 

As of last year, thanks to former President Joe Biden’s expansive Catch and Release network, an estimated 1.3 million illegal aliens are now living in the U.S. — not detained by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency — despite having been ordered deported by a federal immigration judge.

 

The Trump administration has been focused on prioritizing deportations of illegal aliens with criminal records, as well as terrorists and gang members, though those with final deportation orders are expected to be the next category for prioritized interior enforcement.

Trump Calls for Impeachment of Judge Who Blocked Deportations, Drawing Rebuke from Justice Roberts

President Donald Trump’s call for an impeachment of the judge who moved to block the deportations of illegal aliens suspected of being in the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) is drawing criticism from U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.

 

In a Truth Social post on Tuesday morning, Trump ripped into James Boasberg, the chief judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, over his order on Saturday night:

 

This Radical Left Lunatic of a Judge, a troublemaker and agitator who was sadly appointed by Barack Hussein Obama, was not elected President – He didn’t WIN the popular VOTE (by a lot!), he didn’t WIN ALL SEVEN SWING STATES, he didn’t WIN 2,750 to 525 Counties, HE DIDN’T WIN ANYTHING! I WON FOR MANY REASONS, IN AN OVERWHELMING MANDATE, BUT FIGHTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION MAY HAVE BEEN THE NUMBER ONE REASON FOR THIS HISTORIC VICTORY. I’m just doing what the VOTERS wanted me to do.

 

Trump then called for Boasberg’s impeachment.

 

“This judge, like many of the Crooked Judges’ I am forced to appear before, should be IMPEACHED!!! WE DON’T WANT VICIOUS, VIOLENT, AND DEMENTED CRIMINALS, MANY OF THEM DERANGED MURDERERS, IN OUR COUNTRY. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” he added.

 

Within hours, Roberts issued a statement saying that calling for a judge’s impeachment because one disagrees with a ruling is not “appropriate.”

 

“For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose,” he said, according to the Hill.

 

Boasberg’s order came hours after Trump announced Saturday he was invoking the 1798 Alien Enemies Act and expediting the removal of TdA gang members.

 

“Any plane containing these folks that is going to take off or is in the air needs to be returned to the United States however that is accomplished,” Boasberg announced, as Politico noted. “Make sure it’s complied with immediately.”

 

However, by Sunday morning, Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele revealed the 238 suspected TdA members and 23 suspected MS-13 members had arrived in El Salvador.

 

Bukele posted an image of a news article regarding Boasberg’s order blocking the deportations.

 

“Oopsie… Too late,” he wrote, accompanied by a laughing emoji

 

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement to Breitbart News that “The Administration did not ‘refuse to comply’ with a court order,” and the suspected TdA members had already been removed from the U.S. by the time of the written order.

 

“The Administration did not ‘refuse to comply’ with a court order. The order, which had no lawful basis, was issued after terrorist TdA aliens had already been removed from U.S. territory. The written order and the Administration’s actions do not conflict,” she said.

 

“Moreover, as the Supreme Court has repeatedly made clear — federal courts generally have no jurisdiction over the President’s conduct of foreign affairs, his authorities under the Alien Enemies Act, and his core Article II powers to remove foreign alien terrorists from U.S. soil and repel a declared invasion,” she continued. “A single judge in a single city cannotdirect the movements of an aircraft carrier full of foreign alien terrorists who were physically expelled from U.S. soil.”

Roberts statement was weak and not at all filled with the knowledge of the law. Roberts should watch out for having support for these radicals, it might compromise his own position.
