Here's an interesting one with William Harvey, Gen Lansdale, John Roselli and others meeting about Operation Mongoose (Overthrow Castro) and ZRRIFLE (Executive Action Assassinations' Hit Team) and QJWIN who appears to be their favorite Assassin and Recruiter.

HARVEY writes a memorandum to DDP HELMS saying

that he advised Lansdale's aide FRANK HAND to

excise the words "including liquidation of leaders"

from the LANSDALE memo because of "the inadmissibility

and stupidity of putting this type of comment in

writing in such a document". Harvey also tells Helms

that he has "careful notes" on MC NAMARA'S discussion

of assassination at the Special Group meeting of

August 10.

General LANSDALE'S memorandum assigns to HARVEY the

drafting of an outline of intelligence, political,

economic, and paramilitary activities for the

implementation of MONGOOSE. The task includes

planning for "splitting the regime, including liquidation of leaders".

(1) Personnel: QJWIN is under written contract as a principal

agent, with the primary task of spotting agent candidates. QJWIN was first contacted in 1958 through the Chief of the Luxembourg I. S. by the Chief of Station, Luxembourg, in connection with an illegal narcotics operation into the United States. For a period of a year and a half he was contacted sporadically by COS, Luxembourg, in behalf of the Bureau of Marcotics. Files of this Bureau reflect an excellent performance by QJWIN. DDP Helms is Richard Helms - Wisner was too ill to return to his post as head of the DDP. Allen W. Dulles therefore sent him to London to be CIA chief of station in England. Dulles decided that Richard Bissell rather than Helms should become the new head of the DPP. Helms was named as his deputy. Together they became responsible for what became known as the CIA's Black Operations. This involved a policy that was later to become known as Executive Action (a plan to remove unfriendly foreign leaders from power). This including a coup d'état that overthrew the Guatemalan government of Jacobo Arbenz in 1954 after he introduced land reforms and nationalized the United Fruit Company.

William Harvey- In July 1947 Harvey broke FBI regulations that an agent had to be on two-hour call at all times. J. Edgar Hoover ordered that Harvey should be punished by being reassigned to Indianapolis. Harvey refused the post and resigned. Soon afterwards Harvey joined the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). According to Richard D. Mahoney: "William K. Harvey, a squat, balding tank of a man with eyes that bulged because of a thyroid condition… began assembling a squad of assassins recruited from the ranks of organized criminals in Europe."

General Landsdale - was a United States Air Force officer until retiring in 1963 as a major general before continuing his work with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Lansdale was a pioneer in clandestine operations and psychological warfare.

John Roselli (Filippo Sacco) first became involved in crime when he worked for Al Capone in the 1920s. By the end of the Second World War Roselli had emerged as a senior crime boss in Las Vegas with close links to Meyer Lansky. In 1947 the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified him as a leading figure in the Mafia and a close associate of Santos Trafficante. On 12th March, 1961, William Harvey arranged for CIA operative, Jim O'Connell, to meet Sam Giancana, Santo Trafficante, Johnny Roselli and Robert Maheu at the Fontainebleau Hotel. During the meeting O'Connell gave poison pills and $10,000 to Rosselli to be used against Fidel Castro.

Robert Strange McNamara - was an American businessman and government official who served as the eighth United States secretary of defense from 1961 to 1968 under presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson at the height of the Cold War. He remains the longest-serving secretary of defense, having remained in office over seven years. He played a major role in promoting the U.S.'s involvement in the Vietnam War.

The CIA held a PRE-ASSASSINATION 1 ("personality") file on Oswald, and this file was expanded into its assassination investigation file. Some of the contents of the 201 file were published by the various investigations, some of it was released under Freedom of Information Act lawsuits, and the bulk of the remainder became public under the JFK Assassination Records Collection Act.
