EU rejects plan to confiscate Russian sovereign assets – German state media
The action could violate international law and undermine financial stability, according to a statement cited by Deutsche Welle
The European Union has decided not to confiscate over $200 billion of Russia’s assets that it froze in 2022, according to a document adopted at a bloc summit on Thursday obtained by German state broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW).
The bloc reportedly cited legal and financial stability risks for the decision. However, interest generated by the funds will continue to be used to support Ukraine, the statement added.

What does the company do?
Hinge uses a camera-enabled smartphone connected to Hinge’s AI-platform to support physical therapy and exercise related to MSK health. In addition to working with a physician and physical therapist (PT), Hinge’s program allows users to maximize their therapy and do so in the comfort of their own home, workplace, or anywhere else.
The best way to see the platform in action is to check out the company videos on the Hinge website or YouTube. It is really an amazing use case.
For example, let’s say a patient is recovering from knee surgery after a skiing accident. The therapy requires stretching and exercises. The patient launches the Hinge app, sets their phone up so it can “see” the patient, and then proceeds with their PT movements. The app tracks the patient and even offers real-time instruction and feedback to modify the movements.
All of this data is captured, analyzed, and builds on itself to become a better product over time.
Additionally, Hinge has launched other platforms as well such as female specific pelvic health programs and a medical device called Enso that supports pain reduction in muscles without the use of drugs.
For MSK, Hinge believes its product can replace 95% of the human interaction needed with PT.
The company sells primarily to large, self-insured employers either directly or through partners such as health insurers and pharmacy benefit managers. It counts half the Fortune 100 companies as customers. In a recent study, Hinge illustrate a 2.4x ROI for employers or cost savings of $2,387 per participant.

London's Heathrow airport to be shutdown all of Friday over nearby fire
London's Heathrow airport will be closed all of Friday because it lost power due to a large fire nearby, the airport said in a post on X on Thursday night.
The outage is the result of a transformer in an electrical substation in Hayes catching fire, CNN reported. Hayes is located in West London, and 10 fire engines and around 70 firefighters were responding to the blaze, the London Fire Brigade said.

The Ukrainian military has turned to fast food in a bid to lure more young recruits into the army’s ranks. A fresh video published by the nation’s defense ministry on Tik Tok tells its target audience just how many cheeseburgers they can afford by joining the country’s forces to fight Russia.
A short clip shows a man dressed in plain clothes coming out of a McDonald’s. The man asks “how many cheeseburgers can be bought for 1 million hryvnas ($24,000)” and goes on to reveal that15,625 burgers can be bought for that sum in Ukraine. A person aged between 18 and 24 can get the needed sum by signing a contract with the defense ministry, he adds.
