Blackrock CEO Larry Fink: MAGA White Knight?

Everybody who watched MAGA born out of virtually nothing — with no institutional backing, which executed a hostile takeover of the rotted old guard of one of the two major parties and transformed it irrevocably — understands that what we’ve all been waiting for to really polish the movement off is the megalomaniacal CEO of a multinational globalist mega-corporation to ride in on his white horse and rescue us, the degenerate rabble, from our ignorance and deprivation.

“More billionaire social engineers running our lives, please,” has basically been the MAGA rallying cry from the start.

Right?

Or, maybe, we might consider to what we reduced the quintessential globalist blue-blood RINO family.

MAGA did that.

Granted, by 2015 I had hated the Bush dynasty for years and years, because I was privy to what Granddaddy Nazi Bush hand and later Daddy CIA Bush and then the younger cocaine-enthusiast Bush had been doing to America and the world for many decades, so the political culling of the Bushes and their crime machine was long overdue.

But, by last decade, enough of the electorate had finally come around to deciding they’ve seen enough corporatism and endless war and the surveillance state by then to really politically annihilate the establishment neoliberal GOP.

How curious, then, that the allegedly conservative-oriented New York Post is trying to forcibly rebrand Larry Fink as a MAGA hero, apparently suffering the delusion that the MAGA faithful will simply swallow the absurd lie if it’s expressed with the proper certitude and authority.

Via New York Post (emphasis added):

“Larry Fink: MAGA Hero

Yes, you read that right. The BlackRock CEO fat cat the political right had loved to hate has suddenly become the darling of the MAGA movement…

After being the bane of conservatives everywhere for years, largely for his support of lefty Environmental Social Governance investing, Mr. ESG has become Mr. MAGA in the eyes of the Republican faithful. GOP critics, who tried to cancel BlackRock contracts in Red State America, are looking to back down….

He and the now-president remain close, an important plus in their Panama Canal dealings. Recall, it was Trump during his first term, meeting with bankers at the White House, who spotted Fink and said “Larry did a great job for me. He managed a lot of my money. I have to tell you, he got me great returns.””

Hundreds Of Anti-Erdogan Protesters Arrested Overnight As Crisis Slides: 'Fight About Democracy'

Turkish police detained 343 people during overnight protests in several cities against the detention of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, the Interior Ministry said on 22 March.

The ministry said in a statement that demonstrations took place across the country, including in Istanbul and the capital, Ankara.

It said the detentions were made to prevent "disrupting of public order" and warned that authorities would not tolerate "chaos and provocation."

The Republican People's Party (CHP), of which Imamoglu is a member, said the detentions were politically motivated and urged supporters to demonstrate lawfully.

The protests are the biggest in Turkiye since the massive demonstrations of 2013 to protest the demolition of Istanbul's Gezi Park, Kurdistan 24 reported.

"There is a great anger. People are spontaneously taking to the streets. Some young people are being politicized for the first time in their lives," said Yuksel Taskin, a lawmaker from the CHP.

"The feeling of being trapped economically, socially, politically, and even culturally was already widespread," journalist and author Kemal Can told AFP.

The protests began on 19 March after Mayor Imamoglu was detained at his home that morning on terrorism and corruption charges.

"I see today during my interrogation that I and my colleagues are faced with unimaginable accusations and slanders," Imamoglu said in his defense during a counter-terrorism police interrogation, a court document viewed by Reuters showed.

Iceland's Minister For Children Quits After Admitting Having Baby With 16 Year Old

While Iceland’s age of consent is 15, sex with a minor under 18 is illegal if one is their teacher or mentor…

Iceland’s minister for children has resigned after admitting she had a child over 30 years ago with a 16-year-old boy while she was a 22-year-old church group counselor, according to the New York Post.

Ásthildur Lóa Thórsdóttir, whose name has forced us to remember Word keystrokes we haven't used in years, is now 58 and a member of the center-left People’s Party.

She confirmed the relationship after local outlet RUV received a tip. She revealed the teen father was present during the birth, and later paid child support.

Swiss Think-Tank: US Intel Investigating Anthony Blinken For Potential Involvement in Romania’s Globalist Coup

The Diplomatic Affairs, a Geneva-based think tank focused on assessing global geopolitical developments, told The Gateway Pundit that its report is based on information they received from a source within the U.S. intelligence community.

The allegations raise serious concerns about the extent of foreign interference, particularly from the Biden administration, in Romania’s domestic politics. The Swiss think tank’s report suggests that Blinken and his associates actively lobbied key Romanian figures, including former President Klaus Iohannis and Acting Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, to invalidate the election under the pretext of Russian interference.

The report, if true, lends support to statements made last month by Richard Grenell, former Special Envoy under Trump, who asserted that it was Biden, not Russia, that interfered in Romania’s recent election.

Romania, a southeastern EU member state long plagued by endemic corruption, was thrust into political turmoil last December when its Constitutional Court annulled the surprise first-round victory of Călin Georgescu, an anti-establishment candidate critical of NATO.

The court justified its unprecedented decision—denounced by critics as a democracy-killing coup d’état—by citing alleged ‘Russian interference’ and claiming that front-runner Călin Georgescu had benefited from Moscow’s online influence operations. However, critics contend that no concrete evidence has been presented to substantiate these allegations, further deepening public skepticism and fueling political unrest.

Călin Georgescu, before being banned by Romania’s election committee from participating in the re-run of the first-round presidential elections, was leading with over 45% of the vote, according to polls. The same polls placed the second-place candidate, Crin Antonescu, at just 20%.

US Ultimatum to Lebanon: Negotiate or We’ll Back Further Israeli Escalation

Threats to give Israel ‘free hand’ to attack may ring hollow with Israel attacking regularly

US Deputy Envoy to the Middle East Morgan Ortagus has delivered an ultimatum to the Lebanese government demanding that they form committees to participate in direct negotiations with Israel by month’s end or face an escalation of US-backed Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory.

The negotiations were announced a little over a week ago, and Lebanon has said no direct talks were happening. Israel has expressed hope that these talks would ultimately give way to normalization of Israel-Lebanon relations.

The US wants direct Lebanon participation, and wants three committees specifically on the issues of the active Israeli occupation of five military outposts inside Lebanon, the border itself, and the potential Israeli release of Lebanese prisoners.

Since Israeli DM Israel Katz has promised Israel will continue to occupy those outposts irrespective of how the negotiations do, Lebanon has seen little interest in participating. Israel released a handful of prisoners when the US first announced the talks as a sign of goodwill.

The US administration clearly wants to present these talks as a big diplomatic win in the region, but the threat of giving Israel permission to escalate military attacks against Lebanon probably doesn’t mean much, since the US has already given Israel a free hand to attack Lebanon throughout the ceasefire, which began in late November, and Israel has carried out hundreds of attacks during that period.

The US also threatened to withdraw from the oversight committee overseeing the ceasefire, which again would mean little since they’ve effectively done nothing to enforce the ceasefire in the face of over a thousand Israeli violations.

Some groups in Lebanon have expressed hopes that the negotiations would lead to less military bellicosity from Israel. Others though have expressed skepticism, and many believe that amid the active military issues with Israel talks extending outside those issues are premature.

The US has not publicly addressed this ultimatum, though Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said other media reports about discussions with Lebanese officials were “baseless” and that the US trusts Lebanon to make its own decisions.

Unconfirmed reports are that Lebanon’s President Aoun is considering adding civilian experts to some of the existing committees, hoping that would be a way to satisfy the US and be seen as partly complying with demands while not fully giving in.

Lebanon PM Warns of Risk of ‘New War’ as Israeli Airstrikes Pound Southern Lebanon

Two killed, including one child, in dozens of new Israeli strikes

The 2024 Israel War in Lebanon never really completely ended, the invasion was somewhat stopped by a ceasefire, though near daily Israeli attacks continued throughout that ceasefire. With strikes escalating Friday, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam is warning that a “new war” may be brewing.

The attacks targeting southern Lebanon are more intense Friday than what is normally seen, with Israel reporting they are targeting Hezbollah after rocket fire against the Israeli border village of Metula. This is the first rocket fire from Lebanon into Israel since the ceasefire went into effect.

Israel’s attacks included dozens of airstrikes, and at least two people were killed, one of them a child, and eight others wounded. Lebanese President Aoun warned the attacks were a sign of a deterioration in the security situation in the south.

The Metula rockets remain something of a mystery. The Lebanese Army reported “primitive rocket launchers” found in the area and dismantled them. Hezbollah denied any role in the rocket fire, and indeed they historically have had more than just primitive launchers at their disposal. No other group has taken credit yet.

The rockets against Metula appear to have done little to no damage, with Israel reporting intercepting them while some other reports suggest some may have hit the area, but little resulted from them. Metula’s mayor condemned the Israeli government and the IDF Northern Command after the situation, accusing them of failures and claiming they’re trying to “normalize” rocket fire in the area.

Though the rockets are important, more consequential is the follow-up, which looks to be a precipitous escalation of Israeli strikes into Lebanon, in the name of targeting Hezbollah. Several airstrikes also targeted the village of Kfar Kela, on the Lebanese side of the border immediately across from Metula. Several were injured there.

Tit for tat strikes eventually escalated into a full-scale Israeli invasion in September of 2024, a damaging war from which Lebanon has yet to really begin rebuilding. They could ill-afford to see another invasion happen so soon after, and preempting future rocket fire, whoever might be firing them, is likely a priority for Lebanon’s relatively new government.

Fetterman: I Fully Support Partnering With Israel to Bomb Iran's Nuclear Facilities

Iran committed to ‘diplomacy and dialogue’, FM says in Persian New Year message

Foreign Minister Araghchi was openly referring to U.S. President Donald Trump’s reckless approach in seeking a compromise with Tehran on its nuclear program which is laced with threats of military action.

“We are committed to diplomacy and dialogue,” Araghchi asserted, adding, “We believe diplomacy is a more suitable alternative to unilateral policies, unjust pressures, oppressive sanctions, and threats and intimidation.”

The remarks by the chief diplomat came nearly two weeks after Trump told Fox Business he had sent a letter to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali seeking a new nuclear deal with Iran. However, his letter was submitted to Iran by the UAE’s senior foreign policy advisor Anwar Gargash one week later.

Axios said on Wednesday that Trump's letter to Ayatollah Khamenei Khamenei included a two-month deadline for reaching a nuclear deal, quoting one U.S. official and two sources briefed on the letter.

Trump abandoned the multilateral 2015 nuclear deal in May 2018 under his “maximum pressure” policy against Iran. The nuclear deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was working effectively. It put the most stringent oversight over Iran’s nuclear activities. Trump took this rash decision though the nuclear deal had been endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and strong opposition by Washington’s European allies.

Araghchi said negotiation must take place on equal footing and in line with the interest of the Iranian nation.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been ready for dialogue and negotiation, but these discussions must happen on an equal position and serve the interests of the Iranian people,” he insisted.

He said Iran will remain steadfast in its unwavering policy and called the Iranian nation a “noble and dignified one with self-confidence” that “will not bow to any power”.

The minister insisted Iran will advance its foreign policy with the “same logic” In the New Year.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the foreign minister said, “We will not compromise even a fraction of the interests of the Iranian people.”

Why was I investigated for sharing an article critical of Zionism by the ‘free speech’ organization PEN America?

Working at PEN American has given me a firsthand look at how liberal institutions suppress pro-Palestinian voices.

“Finally, disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who violates this policy up to and including termination.”

This was the second line of a response sent by senior leadership to me and all my coworkers at PEN America in an email thread on June 26, 2024. I started the thread by posting a link to an article titled “What Unlearning Zionism Can Teach American Jews about Israel and Palestine” to my organization’s listserv channel for disseminating interesting articles that are relevant to our work as a free expression and literature organization.

I imagined that my org’s response to Oren Kroll-Zeldin’s article might spur on fierce discourse among staff. In the article, Kroll-Zeldin documents his journey in gaining new perspectives on Israel/Palestine and branching out from Zionist ideologies. Discourse–even if contentious– that PEN America needed, as controversy continued to embroil the organization following Hamas’ October 7 attack. These controversies included outcry about not providing historical context for Israel’s ongoing genocide, to using force to throw out a protester at an event, to failing to make space for pro-Palestinian writers at events.

But my post led to no discourse, just a threat.

To me, the threat was silly, not in its emptiness, but rather in its context: that those words can come from an organization that prides itself on safeguarding free speech. PEN America swiftly walked back its threat in a follow-up email, regretting that the threat came across as chilling. Within that email was a paragraph that noted that the first email was prompted by Jewish and non-Jewish staff that felt the article attacked the way they defined their religious activity, though the word “antisemitic” was never used.

I did not immediately process the implication of these complaints. My immediate thought was that my organization needed to carve out spaces for MENA voices to shepherd conversations like this and to express themselves as they witnessed a genocide unfold in Gaza. And yet a question lingered: why can’t we have these conversations?

I quickly learned that I was not alone and that PEN America was not alone as a liberal organization that leverages its power to suppresses pro-Palestinian voices.

In July of 2024, I interviewed the Lebanese-American poet Yahia Lababidi about his latest collection, Palestinian Wail. I learned in my interview with Lababidi that his initial publisher dropped his book over the use of words like genocide and murder, claiming these terms “prejudged a legal matter” and could create a scandal for the publisher. Palestinian writers Susan Abulhawa and Rabea Eghbariah experienced similar censorship from their publishers (The Guardian and Harvard Review respectively): singular words– “genocide,” “holocaust,” “Nakba,” or “intifada”—derailing the publishing of their writing.

I began tracking more instances of pro-Palestinian censorship after my interview with Lababidi. I knew that pro-Palestinian suppression was not limited to publishing. In December of 2023, a Roosevelt Island couple protested the inclusion of pro-Palestinian children’s books in an indigenous people display for “Read Palestine Week” at their local New York Public Library. The couple checked out five books (Linda Sarsour’s We’re in This Together, Aya Ghanameh’s These Olive Trees, Reem Kassis and Noha Eilouti’s We Are Palestinian, Hannah Moushabeck and Reem Madooh’s Homeland, and Anne Laurel Carter and Akin Duzakin’s What the Kite Saw) with the intention of holding on to the books indefinitely to prevent them from being checked out. “I think there’s a difference in talking about Palestine as a nation, and the Palestinians as a people,” author Aya Ghanameh told me when I asked why this censorship happened, “and when we do that through mainstream outlets (like These Olive Trees with Penguin Random House) it directly contests dominant Israeli narratives that the Nakba never happened, and the Palestinian people did not and do not exist. That’s what’s scary to them.”

Shortly after this incident, NYPL employees received an email from the Directors of Branch Managers with new guidelines on displays, with NYPL workers feeling that these new guidelines chilled discussion on Israel-Palestine–both internally and externally. As a result, the NYPL did not incorporate pro-Palestinian censorship for its Banned Books Week 2024 programming, missing out on an opportunity to normalize having censored pro-Palestinians in conjunction with banned book authors and exploring their intersection.

Ah, this is bullshit, I thought.

How Miriam Adelson Exemplifies the Supreme Court’s Rulings that Political Corruption Is Protected by the 1st Amendment

Here is a case that so richly displays the thorough-going corruptness of the U.S. Government so that to document it in all of its structural details — as will be done here — is to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that the U.S. is, in fact, a dictatorship (controlled by a Deep State consisting not of its bureaucracy but of its billionaires), not at all a democracy, regardless of what the U.S. Constitution says, and it also displays how flagrantly that Constitution is routinely being violated by this Government, which, consequently, now must be seriously doubted as to this Government’s very legitimacy:

Donald Trump as President is doing the work of his third-biggest political donor the Israeli-American thirty-billionaire Miriam Adelson, who demands Governmental punishment of students who protest against — or even just privately oppose — the Israel-U.S. ethnic cleansing of Gaza.

While Israel provides the troops, America (under both Biden and now Trump) provides the weapons, ammunition, and satellite intelligence, that together are producing the slaughter in, and ethnic cleansing of, Gaza; and Adelson wants it to continue so as to eliminate completely (via extermination and/or expulsion) the people who live there. Students in America who have joined public demonstrations against this ethnic-cleansing are called by Adelson and her hired agent, Trump, “anti-Semites” and supporters of “terrorists” for opposing it. Here’s how this is playing out today:

On March 19th, the Wall Street Journal headlined “Columbia Is Nearing Agreement to Give Trump What He Wants: The school faces a deadline to yield to administration demands in negotiations over federal funding”, and reported that, in order to get Trump “to restore $400 million in federal funding,” Columbia University will punish enough the students who opposed the ethnic-cleansing of Gaza.

The U.S. Government’s poster-boy of this ‘anti-Semitism’ and support of ‘terrorists’ is the Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil, whom Adelson-Trump and their Administration, have in detention awaiting forced expulsion from the United States. On March 11th, CNN headlined “Who is Mahmoud Khalil? Palestinian activist detained by ICE over Columbia University protests” and reported that, “‘As a Palestinian student, I believe that the liberation of the Palestinian people and the Jewish people are intertwined and go hand-by-hand and you cannot achieve one without the other,’ he told CNN last spring when he was one of the negotiators representing student demonstrators during talks with Columbia University’s administration.” Here is the 2-minute video of him being arrested while his wife cries “I don’t know what to do!” and the federal agents refuse to identify themselves, as they drive her husband away in an unmarked car. Trump wants Khalil to be flown out of the country as soon as possible.

“Ludicrous” Situation: Jeffrey Epstein Case Redaction Takes Over FBI’s New York Office

The bureau’s New York field office normally chases drug dealers and spies. Right now, according to multiple sources, priority one is redacting the sex trafficker’s case files.

It’s the FBI’s flagship field office, with more than a thousand agents and another thousand or so civilian employees. And right now, multiple sources with knowledge of the matter say that one priority at the Bureau’s New York Field Office is taking precedence over all others: the review and redaction of sensitive information in the Jeffrey Epstein case files, to prepare for possible publication.

“It’s literally all hands on deck,” one source familiar with the matter tells me, adding that dozens and dozens of agents are working around the clock on the case, instead of on their regular duties. “I even saw an agent walking in with a pillow,” the source added.

The New York field office is an epicenter for FBI counterintelligence, counterterrorism, public corruption, international drug trafficking, and financial crime investigations. The redeployment of agents to comb over the file of the notorious sex trafficker Epstein, who died nearly six years ago, is an indication of the Justice Department priorities in this second Trump administration. One FBI veteran calls it a “ludicrous” situation.
