>>>Maui Police Chief John Pelletier has been marked by high-profile incidents.

John Pelletier served in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for over
two decades before becoming Maui Police Chief. During his time with LVMPD,
Pelletier was the commander of the Convention Center Area Command, which is
responsible for the Las Vegas “strip.” In 2017, he served as the incident
commander for the Oct. 1 shooting in Las Vegas that killed more than 60 people.

More recently, Pelletier has been named in a civil lawsuit accusing him of helping
cover up a 2018 sexual assault allegedly involving Sean "Diddy" Combs, Odell
Beckham Jr., and comedian Druski. Despite denying the claims and presenting
evidence to refute them, Pelletier’s involvement in these two major controversies
has sparked intense public scrutiny.
