Sunday Talks – Kash Patel Discusses His FBI Mission Priority with Good Friend and Mentor Trey Gowdy

March 24, 2025 | Sundance | 48 Comments

FBI Director Kash Patel makes his first television appearance on Fox News to discuss his mission priority within the FBI. Defending the honorable rank and file FBI agents, Kash Patel notes his intention is to focus on the massive increase in violent crime that has come as an outcome of open borders and illegal alien inflows.

Kash Patel has a long relationship with both Trey Gowdy and current CIA Director John Ratcliffe going back to the days when Patel was the lead staffer for Devin Nunes on the House Intelligence Committee, and Gowdy with Ratcliffe were selected to review the FISA application at the center of ‘Russiagate.’

Mr. Gowdy puts the number of honorable FBI officials at 95% and Director Patel agrees, saying he wants to return to the time when he and his family would invite FBI agents for a cup of coffee.

Patel then emphasizes he has already addressed the bad actors within the FBI and will continue to hold the internal investigative officers accountable with a zero-tolerance approach.

During the interview Trey Gowdy wants to emphasize how qualified Kash Patel is for this role in the FBI, delivering effusive praise for his mentee and friend, Director Patel. =Gowdy calls Kash Patel the ’employee of the month’ for his excellence and brilliance in his first 30-days. Sunday Talks – Nat Sec Advisor Mike Waltz Discusses Iran and the Ongoing TdA Deportation Effort

March 23, 2025 | Sundance |

Obviously, Margaret Brennan is a leftist operative within the media space and desperate to direct any conversation toward the narrative issues that are organized by the professional Democrats in DC.Within this interview her priorities are protecting Iran, protecting Hamas and protecting illegal criminal aliens.

Regarding Tren de Aragua criminal gang illegal alien removals, Ms. Brennan says their removal is not a “deportation” they are being sent to prison, and furthermore they are not being afforded “their day in court.”

NSA Waltz misses the opportunity to tell Brennan immigration and DHS are deporting them, removing them; however, we are under no obligation to repatriate them. Perhaps Ms Brennan could look up the term ‘deportation’ in a dictionary.Obviously, illegal aliens do not have U.S constitutional protection, so “their day in court” is a little silly. Russian official arrested for leaking intel to Kiev – FSB

The suspected traitor shared classified data about the country’s border resilience measures, the security agency has alleged

A suspected Russian traitor has been taken into custody for allegedly transmitting classified information to Ukraine, the Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced.

A brief statement on Monday identified the suspect asan employee of the central officeof a Russian agency responsible for overseeing government operations.

Last year, he allegedly reached out to the Ukrainian government, offering “informationabout efforts to protect industrial and energy sites in the border areas of the Russian Federation,” as well asdetails on troop deployments.

If found guilty of treason, the suspect could face a life sentence.

The administration of US President Donald Trump has mediated a partial ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides pledging to suspend attacks against energy infrastructure.

The measure, which is meant to build momentum for a more comprehensive truce currently being negotiated in Saudi Arabia, was not honored by Kiev, according to the Russian military. Officials have accused Ukraine of launching a kamikaze drone strike against an oil transfer station in Russia’s Krasnodar Region and blowing up a gas metering station in Kursk Region.

Moscow has said that while its commitment not to attack Ukrainian energy sites holds,it reserves the right to pull out of the deal if Kiev continues to violate it.

Serbia reiterates stance on Russia sanctions

Belgrade will not take part in the restrictions against Moscow, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin has said

The Serbian authorities will not reverse their approach to sanctions on Russian, according to Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin.Belgrade has not taken part in the Ukraine-related restrictions imposed on Moscow by Western states.

The US and EU have been piling sanctions on Russia since 2014. The initial restrictions regarding defense, energy, banking, and trade came in response to Crimea joining the country after a violent Western-backed coup in Kiev. Following the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022, Western states have dramatically expanded the measures.

“As you know, we have not joined the Western sanctions against Russia, and we will continue to follow this course,” Vulin said on Saturday during a meeting with the secretary of the Russian National Security Council, Sergey Shoigu, in Moscow.

The numerous sanctions introduced byWashington and Brussels include a ban on Russia’s seaborne oil shipments, cutting the country off from the Western financial system, freezing its foreign reserves, and many other restrictions.

Moscow has dismissed the sanctions as “illegal”and warned that seizing its frozen assets would amount to “theft.” President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia has overcome the challenges posed by the restrictions, which have inadvertently strengthened its economy by promoting self-reliance and reducing dependence on foreign technology.

Belgrade has maintained a neutral stance on the conflict and retains close economic ties with Moscow. Serbia has refused to take part in the sanctions despite pressure from the US and EU.

During his meeting with Shoigu, Vulin also reiterated that his country mistakenly voted in favor of an anti-Russian resolution on Ukraine at the UN last month.

“The mistake that occurred during the vote in the UN General Assembly, as you know, has been corrected. It is much easier for us to admit a mistake than to offend our friends,” the deputy PM said.

Earlier this month, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Duric said the country changed its vote to ‘abstain’ in the UN General Assembly on the resolution, which reaffirms support for Ukraine and its territorial integrity while condemning Russia.

(That picture is weird, Putin is looking at him and Vulin is looking at the people in attendance.)

UK military slams Ukraine ‘peacekeeping’ plan as ‘political theater’ – Telegraph

Prime Minister Keir Starmer earlier proposed sending troops to the conflict zone as part of a “coalition of the willing”

UK military officials have dismissed Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s proposal for deploying Western troops to Ukraine as part of a ‘peacekeeping force’ to oversee a potential ceasefire, The Telegraph reported on Sunday. Senior military sources told the outlet that Starmer had “got ahead of himself.”

Starmer announced the initiative earlier this month, aiming to build a “coalition of the willing”to support Ukraine militarily. Last week, he claimed that multiple countries backed the idea of sending in a peacekeeping force of up to 10,000 troops, despite Moscow’s opposition to any Western deployments in the conflict zone. (No other country supports Macron and Starmer’s stupid idea)

London hosted planning talks last week with military officials from partner nations. However, military sources dismissed the plans as prematureand politically motivated.

“There is no defined military end-state or military-strategic planning assumptions. It’s all political theater,” one senior army official told the news outlet.

“Starmer got ahead of himself with talk of boots on the ground before he knew what he was talking about.”

The discussions have reportedly shifted their focus from boots on the ground to air and naval support. The Telegraph reported that RAF fighter jets could be deployed to patrol Ukrainian airspace, while British Typhoons could provide air cover for ground forces, though the size and role of any ground deployment remain unclear.

“It’s politics. There’s no military sense in it,” another defense source said, noting that neither Russia nor the US support the coalition. He also pointed to a lack of clarity on mission goals.

“What is a 10,000-international force based in the west of the country over 400km from the front line meant to do? It cannot even protect itself,” he argued. “What is the mission? What is its legitimacy? What are the rules of engagement? How is it commanded, supplied and housed? How long is it there for and why? No one knows.”

Further planning talks are expected in London on Monday between British and French defense officials. French President Emmanuel Macron is reportedly considering invoking the UN to authorize a European troop presence in Ukraine. However, Russia has repeatedly rejected the idea of Western peacekeepers in Ukraine, noting that it would require UN Security Council approval, where Moscow holds veto power.

(It’s pretty bad when Starmer’s own military call him a fool! Many say Macron is doing this because he wants to be re-elected, the majority of France hates him and wants him out. It’s all play acting, to present Macron is courageous.)

EU state losing soldiers over Ukraine deployment fears – defense minister

Departures from the Czech army have risen by 40% annually since 2022, according to the Novinky news outlet

The Czech army is losing a growing number of experienced soldiersover fears that they could be deployed to Ukraine, Defense Minister Jana Cernochova has claimed.

The minister made the remarks in the Czech Senate last week, during a debate on an amendment aimed at increasing benefits to attract new military recruits and reduce the number of departures.

“For some people, the reason for leaving was the war in Ukraine,” Cernochova said, as cited by Novinky.

She added that some soldiers were unsettled by speculation about future military missions.“Because of the societal climate, when various observers have been threatening mobilization for years and soldiers will be sent to Ukraine, for some people that was the reason why they took off their uniform,” Cernochova argued.

According to Novinky, departures from theCzech army have risen by 40% annually since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022. In 2024, 1,370 professional soldiers left the military. That figure was 1,200 in 2023 and 1,337 the year before. Prior to 2022, departures typically ranged from 800 to 1,000 annually.

However, former army psychologist Daniel Strobl questioned Cernochova’s interpretation, suggesting that if a soldier resigned over fears of being deployed to Ukraine, “it’s good that he left. By doing so, he showed that he does not want to fight for our country.”He claimed that the actual reason for the outflow is the lack of opportunities to be sent on international missionssuch as in Afghanistan.

Cernochova insistedher remarks were based on off-the-record conversations with troops. “I have been talking to soldiers for many years in my personal life… I know that some soldiers really thought and are thinking this way,” she said. The minister also conceded that it is difficult to ascertain the precise reasons for departures because soldiers often do not disclose them.

On Saturday, Czech President Petr Pavel signaled that the country is ready to join a potential foreign troop deployment to Ukraine to provide peacekeepers in the event that Kiev and Moscow agree a truce.

Russia, however, has strongly opposed any Western troop presence in Ukraine, warning that any unauthorized foreign personnel deployed in the country would be treated as legitimate military targets. Russian forces have also repeatedly targeted foreign mercenaries fighting for Ukraine.

Greenland’s PM denounces ‘aggressive pressure’ by US

Mute Egede has condemned a planned visit by Second Lady Usha Vance and key members of the Trump team (WTF? Sounds strange)

The prime minister of Greenland has hit out at the US following the announcement that Second Lady Usha Vance and senior American officials will visit the island on Thursday. The administration of US President Donald Trump is pursuing control over the autonomous Danish territory and its resources.

Mute B. Egede described the upcoming trip –reportedly involving National Security Adviser Michael Waltz and Energy Secretary Chris Wright – as part of “very aggressive American pressure” aimed at “taking over our country over our heads.”

In an interview with local newspaper Sermitsiaq on Sunday, Egede criticized Western nations for inadequately opposing the US, stating, “Our allies in the international community feel like hiding in a small corner and almost whisper their support, which has no effect.”KEK

Jens-Frederik Nielsen, leader of the Demokraatit party, which recently won parliamentary elections, described the scheduling of the visit during coalition talks a gesture of disrespect.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said her government viewed the trip within the context of the Trump administration's territorial claims on Greenland, adding that Copenhagen’s cooperation with the US is conditional to “the fundamental rules of sovereignty.”

Vice President J.D. Vance's wife will travel to Greenland with her son and a delegation of officials to explore historic sitesand observe a dog race, as stated in her office's announcement on Sunday. Participants “are excited to witness this monumental race and celebrate Greenlandic culture and unity,” it added.

Members of the Trump administration will conduct their ownitinerary featuring a visit to the Pentagon’s Pituffik Space Base. Trump’s interest in Greenland stems from the island’s strategic position near the Arctic and its potential natural resources.

The US administration has questioned the sovereignty of Canada, Denmark, and Panama, asserting that American national interests necessitate controlling their territories. Specifically regarding Greenland, the vice president claimed in February that Copenhagen is “not doing its job” and “is not being a good ally” to Washington.

If American interests require taking “more territorial interest in Greenland, that is what President Trump is going to do,because he doesn’t care about what the Europeans scream at us,” he stated. (So is he saying Europe is pressuring Greenland to not do a deal?)

Waltz reveals topics of Russia-US talks in Riyadh

The sides will discuss a Black Sea ceasefire and verification mechanisms for a wider truce, the US national security adviser has said

A Black Sea maritime truce will be one of the top issues on the agenda of the upcoming US-Russia meeting in Riyadh, US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz told CBS on Sunday. If reached, the ceasefire deal would allow both Moscow and Kiev to “move grain, fuel, and start conducting trade” in the sea again, according to the official.

Waltz hailed the US-mediated peace efforts, saying: “we’re closer to peace than we ever have been.” His comments come ahead of a new round of negotiations between Russian and US officials scheduled for Monday.

He described the upcoming event as “proximity talks.” Apart from the Black Sea ceasefire, the sides are also expected to explore options for a wider truce, according to the national security adviser. “We’ll talk the line of control… details of verification mechanisms, peace keeping, you know, freezing the lines where they are.”

The issue of a “broader and permanent peace”and “security guarantees” for Kievwill also be on the table, Waltz added. (Better not be the U.S. for security guarantees.)

On Wednesday, Waltz said he had a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s foreign policy aide, Yury Ushakov, in which they discussed the details of the upcoming meeting.

Ushakov confirmed that “a conversation did take place,” and said the meeting, which is scheduled to take place in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, will focus on the “safety of navigation in the Black Sea.”

The issue of a maritime ceasefire was raised by US President Donald Trump during a phone call with Putin on Tuesday. The Russian president supported the idea and agreed to initiate talks on the details of a potential arrangement.

Riot police disperse protesters in Istanbul (VIDEO)

Officers have clashed with supporters of opposition politician Ekrem Imamoglu amid massive rallies in Türkiye’s largest city

Police kicked and punched protesters in Istanbulas they moved to break up a demonstration in support of the arrested mayor, Ekrem Imamoglu, on Sunday evening.

Large-scale demonstrations continued for the fifth day, despite a ban on rallies in Istanbul, Türkiye’s largest city. While some gatherings were peaceful, others descended into clashes with police.

Officers in riot gear tackled and threw people to the ground outside city hall. Some were filmed kicking protesters and hitting them with batons.

Imamoglu was detained on Wednesday on charges of corruption and ties to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is listed as a terrorist group in Türkiye. On Sunday, an Istanbul court approved his arrest, after which Imamoglu was suspended from office. He denied any wrongdoing and said the prosecution was politically motivated.

Imamoglu ran for vice president in the 2023 presidential election and is considered the primary candidate of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) for president in 2028.

In a post on X on Sunday, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya wrote that some police officers were attacked on the streets. “We will never allow vandalism or threats to the peace and security of our nation,” he warned.

CHP leader Ozgur Ozel denied that the party made any calls for violence. In a reply to Yerlikaya, he wrote, “You will respect the democratic reaction that is the constitutional right of the nation. Any order given against it will be unlawful.”

Trump’s Admin Has One Idea That Could Totally Change How Gov’t Uses Federal Land

March 23, 20251/2

Overseeing millions of acres of mostly undeveloped land, the federal government, under the direction of President Donald Trump, is seeking to use its vast resources to address the availability and affordability of homes around the country.

Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Scott Turner are the architects behind the new Task Force on Federal Land for Housing, which will seek to identify federally owned land “suitable for residential use,” according to an op-ed penned by the cabinet members. The task force will build on two pieces of previously proposed legislation that would give states greater control over how their land is managed, according to a policy expert who spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“The truth of the matter is the federal government holds a lot of relatively valuable parcels that most people don’t even know about that are close to metro areas that they’ve got by default or neglect or don’t even necessarily know that they own,” Dan Kish, a senior fellow at the Institute for Energy Research (IRE) told the DCNF. “They may have a chain-link fence around them or something like that with a sign on them and those would be the ones that they’d be looking for that would be close to existing housing stock or transportation.”

Kish, who spent years working on the House Natural Resources Committee, which oversees the Interior Department, drew on his past experience to provide some insight on the logistics of the task force’s goals

“It’s just impossible to build anything because of the shortage of land, and yet you’ve got no shortage of land, what you have is a shortage of ownership in private hands and a regulatory regime that keeps people from being able to build anything,” Kish said.

Turner and Burgum are attempting to fulfill Trump’s day-one executive order aimed at “defeating the cost-of-living crisis,” beginning with evaluations of where housing needs are most dire.

Median home prices began to increase rapidly in 2009, before spiking considerably in 2020 and 2021, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis data shows. As of May 2024, families paid $13,300 more per year for the same house than they did in January 2021, according to the Heritage Foundation. During former President Joe Biden’s term, housing prices increased by approximately 114.5%, which the conservative think tank attributed largely to the administration’s “runaway spending.”

Areas facing a severe lack of housing will be prioritized by the Trump administration, followed by close collaboration with state and local leaders “who know their communities best,” the secretaries wrote in their op-ed. The federal government oversees roughly 650 million acres, according to the Government Accountability Office, primarily in the Western region of the U.S., with states like Nevada and Utah being over 80% and 60% federally owned, respectively.

“Interior will identify locations that can support homes while carefully considering environmental impact and land-use restrictions,” Turner and Burgum wrote. “Working together, our agencies can take inventory of underused federal properties, transfer or lease them to states or localities to address housing needs, and support the infrastructure required to make development viable—all while ensuring affordability remains at the core of the mission.”

Turner and Burgum made clear that their plan is not “a free-for-all to build on federal lands,” and Kish reinforced the point that this task force will not advocate for building homes in national parks, but rather will take inventory of underused resources in local communities.

“There’s gonna be people who scream bloody murder and say they’re selling off the national parks, but that’s hyperbole,” Kish said. “In essence what we’re talking about here is taking a look at our resource base and seeing whether it doesn’t make some sense to free it up.”

Kish also said that while some states might initially have a shaky response to the task force, he sees other states “chomping at the bit” to gain access to federal land, especially Utah, where Republican Sen. Mike Lee has advocated for the ability to build housing on federal land for years.

“Utah has been fighting for more control over its land for a long time,” Kish said. “The ability to have more control over federal lands and more say-so over what happens on federal lands within its reach would lead [states] to a different conclusion. I think ultimately states would see it in the benefit to have a stake in ownership or partial ownership or more of a say in how their lands are managed.”

The task force’s housing plans stem from the groundwork of Lee’s Helping Open Underutilized Space to Ensure Shelter (HOUSES) Act which was introduced in the Senate in 2023. The act is cosponsored by Republican Sens. Cynthia Lummis and John Barrasso of Wyoming and Dan Sullivan of Alaska — who each represent states with large concentrations of federally owned land that could be used to provide housing.

“The DOI and HUD initiative is very similar to Senator Lee’s HOUSES Act, which would enable states and localities to purchase unused federal land near existing communities — not national parks or other protected areas — for the purpose of building single-family homes to alleviate the housing crisis,” a spokesperson for Lee told the DCNF. “Senator Lee is looking forward to working with the Trump administration to tackle this important issue together.”

Republican South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott has also worked alongside Turner on housing policy through the Renewing Opportunity in the American Dream (ROAD) to Housing Actintroduced in the fall of 2024. The bill aims to reform all sectors of the housing market, help increase the supply of affordable housing, and improve quality of life for families by providing economic opportunity in communities across the nation– goals shared by Turner and the Joint Task Force on Federal Land for Housing.

“Homeownership is key to the American Dream, which is why I’ve continued to work on solutions to put more Americans on the path towards homeownership,” Scott said in a statement shared with the DCNF. “The Joint Task Force on Federal Land for Housing will be critical in our efforts to boost the supply of affordable housing, and I look forward to working with both Secretary Turner and Secretary Burgum to enact policiesthat advance our shared goal of cutting red tape and ensuring federal housing programs work for the American people.”

“It is our desire that we can build as many homes as possible — quality living spaces of all kinds for the American people,” Turner toldthe DCNF in January.A representative for Turner went on to say, “He is the person we need to reform failed federal housing policies, cut red tape, and find innovative solutions to expand access to quality, affordable housing.”

When reached for comment by the DCNF, a spokesperson for HUD stated they were unable to provide further details on the task force at this time. The Department of Interior did not respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.

Trump administration issues license for floating LNG facility that Biden administration stonewalled

3/21/25

Maritime Administration (MARAD), a subagency of the U.S. Department of Transportation, issued a license Friday authorizing Delfin LNG toconstruct a floating liquefied natural gas export terminal approximately 50 miles off the coast of Louisiana.

The facility will connect four floating LNG units to existing onshore pipelines, according to Natural Gas Intelligence, and transport the gas to the global market from U.S. federal waters.

According to a letter sent in September from the government watchdog group Protect the Public’s Trust to the inspector general of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the first Trump administration had issued a record of decisions conditionally approving the project in 2017, but it had not yet granted it a license. The congressionally mandated timeline to approve or deny a license was 356 days, but MARAD delayed it seven years.

Second Amendment leaders press DOGE to stop health agencies’ gun control studies3/23/25

1/2

Elon Musk is used to being vilified by the left, particularly since he was tasked by President Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in trimming the waste, fraud and abuse that has bloated federal government.

Now, one section of the citizenry is actually asking him to push harder:Second Amendment advocates are asking him to block taxpayer-funded health agencies from spending millions on gun control research.

There has been legislation called the Dickey Amendment on the books since 1997 that provides a clear pathway for DOGE to remove tens of millions of dollars spent by agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on gun control research and grants. That law had been followed until 2018, when Congress “clarified” the rider. Resulting in something closer to rescission than clarification, in 2020, the federal omnibus spending bill presented to President Biden earmarked the first funding for such expenditures since 1996.

Dickey Amendment revival stalled

Last year, Rep. Marianette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, revived efforts to stop such research through an amendment to the appropriations package for the Labor, Human Services, and Education departments. It specifically stipulated that “none of the funds made available by this Act may be used by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to conduct or support any firearm injury and mortality prevention research.” Miller-Meeks is a longtime supporter of Second Amendment rights.

“As a physician and former Director of Public Health in Iowa,I believe that our leading public health agency should be focusing on researching and preventing communicable diseases, which was what the CDC was originally created to do – not prioritizing gun control,” she posted to ‘X’ ahead of the November 15 vote.

It passed in the House of Representatives 216-211.However, it stalled in the Senate and was never signed into law by then-President Joe Biden.

Now, Gun Owners of America (GOA) one of the nation’s largest gun rights groups, is pushing for the CDC’s gun research department to get the DOGE treatment. GOA Executive Vice President Erich Pratt spoke to Just The News about the funding, including taxpayer money used to study the effectiveness of gun confiscation of all ages and also researching a sundown age for seniors to relinquish personal firearms. “That right there is tilted towards the left…money to study the benefits of expanded background checks and registration, the best age to set a second amendment retirement age for senior citizens,” he continued.

You know, last I checked, there wasn't a retirement clause on any of the Bill of Rights. But this is what they want to do. They fund these studies to say, okay, you might retire at age 65 but, at age 71, take guns from grandpa.”

Research grants currently active within CDC include $3.6 million for ‘firearm retirement’ for senior citizens, $1.2 million for ‘check-ins’ on ‘guns at home,’ $2.1 million to study ‘firearm possession’ by Asian Americans, $126,000 on ‘Black Americans’ elevated gun violence exposure,’ $490,000 on ‘comparing states gun policies,’ $349,000 on ‘showing if firearm law reduces mortality,’ and $518,000 on ‘firearm storage & confiscation laws.’

Musk and the Second Amendment

With a self-deletion date set at the country’s semi sesquicentennial next July, DOGE has roughly 470 days to deliver on its promise to drastically reduced the amount of waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government. The current tally is now at $115 billion, according to the DOGE tracker website.

While neither DOGE nor Musk have made announcements concerning the CDC's gun-control spending, it's possible that Second Amendment advocates will find a sympathetic ear at DOGE. The National Rifle Association (NRA), through its house organ "America's First Freedom" produced a wish list for DOGE that asks them to advise President Trump to sign an executive action stating that the ATF cannot attempt to rewrite gun-control law and to restrict the ATF to "treat the lawfully armed public like the law-abiding citizens they are."

The NRA also said that the Biden administration "blamed gun stores for being responsible for rising crime rates, even though the ATF’s own statistics shows this not to be the case." Suggesting several cuts in specific, the 5 million member 501(c)4 asks DOGE to disband the White House “Office of Gun Violence Prevention;” dismantle the Department of Justice’s “red-flag” law clearinghouse; end what they call "government funding of bogus gun-control advocacy posing as research;” and they recommend revoking the Biden administration’s export licensing crackdown on American gun companies through the U.S. Commerce Department.

Although DOGE has not set its sights on any gun-control related waste or abuse at least publicly Musk has not been shy about expressing his support for the right to bear arms. On the 2024 campaign trial on behalf of President Trump, Musk responded to Vice President Kamala Harris' suggested mandatory gun buyback program by saying "The right to bear arms is there to protect free speech and stop a tyrannical government from taking your rights away! That’s why the first thing that all tyrants do is disarm the people, just like Chavez did when he was first elected. After that, no more real elections in Venezuela."

Even in his support for gun ownership, Musk has proven yet again to be something of a contrarian. In 2022, Musk told CNBC in that "I strongly believe that the right to bear arms is an important safeguard against potential tyranny of government. Historically, maintaining their power over the people is why those in power did not allow public ownership of guns." In the same interview, Musk also underscored his support for “tight background checks” for all gun sales and limiting sales of assault weapons to people in special circumstances, like gun range owners, or people who live in a “high risk location, like gang warfare.

Thirteen states now ban ranked-choice voting as West Virginia, Wyoming join bandwagon3/21/25

West Virginia and Wyoming are the latest two states to ban ranked-choice voting (RCV), bringing the total number of states prohibiting the election system to 13. The battle over whether to implement or ban RCV has been ongoing for nearly a decade. However, more states have banned RCV or chosen not to use it than have implemented it.

RCV is an election process whereby if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, then a runoff system is triggered. When voters cast their ballots, they rank each candidate in order of first-to-last.

If no candidate reaches the 50% plus-one vote threshold, then the candidate with the least amount of first-choice votes is eliminated, then second-choice votes from those who voted for the last-place finisher are reallocated among the remaining candidates and tallied – in a process that continues until a candidate receives the majority of the vote.

The pros and cons

RCV proponents argue that the system results inrepresentative outcomes and majority rule, incentivizes positive campaigning, allows for more voter choice, and saves money when replacing preliminaries or runoffs, according to pro-RCV organization FairVote.

Social workers get millions to push DEI in schools1/23/23/25

A close look at the Department of Education's grant funding shows that millions of taxpayer dollars are being spent at universities to train social workers topush Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at K-12 schools.

Now that President Donald Trump has banned that kind of funding, schools will have to find workarounds or drop the programs altogether.

The parental rights group, Parents Defending Education, released a report this week showing over $100 million in Education Department "social work" awards for colleges and universities that has increasingly been used to push DEI ideas into the classroom.

"On the surface, these federal grants were given out to help mitigate mental health issues;in practice, the grant funds went to support programs that explicitly advance social justice ideologies based in critical race theory that include anti-racism and DEI," the report said. "In fact, the vast majority of university social work programs that we reviewed prioritize anti-racism practices and social justice activism."

PDE said it found 33 colleges and universities with these kinds of programs, 25 of which were receiving taxpayer-funded grants.

A quick look at the program materials show they train social workers how to push ideas related to "anti-racist and anti-oppressive social work" and "racial capitalism, white supremacy, and structural and institutional racism," among other related ideas, often in K-12 schools.

One federal grant to Nazareth University in New York supports its program with the stated goal "to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and address bias and oppression."

Another at Miami University in Ohio promises that students will "advance human rights and social, racial economic, and environmental justice" and "engage in anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion… in practice."

Most of the federal funding for these kinds of programs comes from the Department of Education's Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration Grant Program or the School-Based Mental Health Services Grant Program, according to PDE.

From the University of Alaska Anchorage social work program "engaging in anti-racist and anti-oppressive social work" to a California State University, Fresno course teaching students how "definitions of race and whiteness have been used to disenfranchise people of color," social work has seemingly made a fundamental shift in its focus in recent years.

Proponents of these programs say social workers need to be equipped to deal with complex issues facing students, which often include racial factors.

They argue systemic racism is a key factor in mental health, while critics say that emphasis reveals an ideological bias.

A quick look at the website for the National Association of Social Workers, which boasts 120,000 members, shows a plea to stop "Trump administration policies" accompanied by a picture of several raised fists, a gesture often linked to political activism.

"The Trump administration is bent on repealing or ignoring just about every law that gets in the way of its drive to remake the federal government."

Anthony Estreet, CEO of the National Association of Social Workers said in an editorial in the liberal outlet, Salon.

Estreet goes on to attack Trump's stance on deportations, transgenderism, cuts to the federal government.

"But the administration can't repeal the law of unintended consequences," he added. "And plenty of people outside the executive branch — particularly health care providers, mental health professionals, and social workers — will have to clean up the messes the president's directives are creating."

The PDE report comes as President Donald Trump signed an executive order to dismantle much of the Department of Education while still performing the critical programs. Trump's decision raises a question of which parts of that federal agency may be extraneous.

Given Trump's other executive order banning federal promotion of DEI, grants like those uncovered by PDE are unlikely to keep going out the door.

"School social workers did not use to spend years marinating in highly ideological courses about privilege, oppression, racial capitalism, and white supremacy, but today, this is common practice in public and private universities," Erika Sanzi, Director of Outreach for Parents Defending Education, said in a statement. "While this is obviously disturbing, the fact that the U.S. Department of Education has been funding it since 2021 is a major red flag. How can a social worker help students become the best version of themselves if they see them as oppressors with unearned privilege?"

Trump's executive order may push the social work DEI programs to become less obvious, avoiding certain radioactive phrases but pursuing many of the same goals.

Many of these schools now have a choice: Drop the DEI social work model altogether or go underground.

How these operations pivot with the ban on DEI funding remains to be seen.

EXCLUSIVE: DOJ Explores Criminal Charges Against Ousted USIP Mutineers

3/22/25

The Department of Justice is exploring potential criminal charges against former U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) officials who attempted to block the Trump administration’s leadership changes at the federally funded think tank Monday, a senior DOJ official told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The official, who requested anonymity, told the DCNF the DOJ is examining whether certain USIP actions — such as the removal and destruction of internal and external door locks — created illegal fire hazards. The official also flagged thewidespread distribution of internal flyers instructing USIP staff not to cooperate with incoming Trump administrationofficials as potentially obstructive conduct. The DCNF was the first to report on USIP’s internal flyer campaign and destruction of door locks.

“Eleven board members were lawfully removed, and remaining board members appointed Kenneth Jackson acting president,” Anna Kelly, White House deputy press secretary, previously told the DCNF. “Rogue bureaucrats will not be allowed to hold agencies hostage. The Trump administration will enforce the President’s executive authority and ensure his agencies remain accountable to the American people.”

The inquiry — which remains in its early stages, the official emphasized— follows a contentious standoff Monday after former USIP leadershiptried to block the installation of Kenneth Jackson, who President Donald Trump appointed as the institute’s new president on March 14. The Trump administration determined the institute had failed to comply with a Feb. 19 executive order requiring federally funded organizations like USIP to scale operations down to their bare statutory minimums, triggering a leadership shakeup the institute attempted to resist.

USIP leadership began preparing for a confrontation weeks before the executive order was issued.A Feb. 6 internal document exclusively obtained by the DCNF outlined plans to deny building access to outside officials and reasserted the institute’s discretion over security systems and facilities. Flyers with the names and photos of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) officials were posted throughout the building, instructing staff to report their presence and avoid conversation.

After Jackson and other DOGE officials arrived on March 14 with law enforcement and a copy of Trump’s order, they were turned away by USIP’s legal counsel, sources previously toldthe DCNF.Over the following weekend, USIP leadership escalated its resistance— terminating its private security firm, disabling internet and phone systems and resorting to walkie-talkie communication inside the building.

DOGE officials returned Monday to find the building locked down and staff barricaded on the fifth floor. USIP officials called the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), sources previously told the DCNF,who only later arrived at the request of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for D.C. after reports of obstruction by institute staff. MPD entered the fifth floor through emergency stairwells and removed former USIP President George Moose and other senior officials from the premises.

While afederal judge declined to issue a restraining order halting the leadership transition Wednesday, she sharply criticized DOGE’s cooperation with law enforcement, despite the circumstances surrounding USIP’s refusal to comply.

The DOJ official did not specify which individuals were under investigation or when a decision on charges might be made.

They have to be charged, they were hiding crimes, and refused to obey Trump’s order.I bet they will find massive corruption and misuse of government money, and laws.

Tim Walz Hits Reverse on Tesla Stock Sneer: ‘Being a Smart-Ass’

Simon Kent24 Mar 2025

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) has hit reverse on his sneering comment about Tesla stock dropping, saying he was “being a smart-ass” when he said he was reveling in watching it head south. He hastened to add anyone who took offense at his caustic quip lacked a sense of humor to match his own.

“I have to be careful about being a smart-ass, I was making a joke,” Mediaite reports Walz said. (Never President material, he’s lying about his somewhat apology. More like dumb ass.)

He then referenced those who took offense, saying “These people have no sense of humor. They are the most literal people.”

“My point was they’re all mad and I said something I … probably shouldn’t have about a company,” he continued with his admission to the audience at an event in New York.

As Breitbart News reported, Elon Musk and Walz sparred last Wednesday as the failed vice presidential candidate celebrated the recent dip in Tesla’s stock price.

“If you need a little boost during the day, check out Tesla stock,” Walz wrote, featuring a video of the former vice presidential candidate’s town hall in Wisconsin the previous night.

He even suggested audience members that have a Tesla can pull the badge off of the electric car.

Walz’s semi-apology came after it was reported the Minnesota State Board of Investment’s pension fund owned approximately 1.8 million shares of Tesla stock.

On Dec. 17 of last year, Telsa closed the day trading at $479.86 per share, but Musk’s work with DOGE has since resulted in a backlash against the company by opponents.

Last week, Telsa shares dropped to 226.62, the Mediaite report notes.

Top Teachers Union to Call on Schools to Brand Nigel Farage’s Reform Party as ‘Far-Right and Racist’3/23/25

The National Education Union (NEU) has called upon schools to instruct students that Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party is “far-right and racist” in an apparent bid to stem the growing popularity of the party among young people.

At its annual conference next month, Britain’s largest teachers union will debate amotion calling for teachers in Britain to “educate and challenge” students who are interested in supposed “racist beliefs and far-Right activity” and to provide schools with so-called anti-racist resources.

The motion, reported by the Mail on Sunday, specifically singles out the Nigel Farage-led Reform UK as having run on an “anti-immigrant platform” and said that “far-right and racist organisations, including Reform,” scapegoat asylum seekers, Jews, Muslims, and Refugees.

The party, which advocates for a reduction in mass migration and an end to illegal migration, has rejected being called far-right and previously forced the BBC to issue an apology and a correction after the public broadcaster had labelled them as such.

In response to the NEU, Mr Farage said:“This is happening up and down the country. Reform is subject to endless propaganda at the hands of teachers. When we are in a position to do so, we will go to war against the teachers unions.”

Reform MP Lee Anderson added: “The NEU has revealed its true colours. By indoctrinating our youth, silencing free speech and spreading hateful rhetoric, they have abandoned their legal duty of political neutrality.”

The push to demonise Reform comes as the governingleft-wing Labour Party has said that it intends to lower the voting age to 16. Given Reform’s surging popularity among the youth, this has raised concerns on the left.

A Mail on Sunday poll in Februaryfound that 30 per cent of 16 and 17-year-olds would vote for Reformif given the chance. This was even higher than Reform’s national polling, which has hovered at around 25 per cent in recent months.

In addition to the Reform party, theteachers union motion accused conservative Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s government of being “racist”.

The leader of the NEU,Daniel Kebede, has openly admitted to being a socialistand previously acknowledged thathe was radicalised by reading Karl Marxwhile at university in Cardiff.

The son of an Ethiopia refugee, Kebede has accused the country which gave his family asylum of being a “brutally racist state”, according to the Daily Mail.

The National Education Union has long been at the forefront in pushing woke theories onto students, such as calling on teachers to attend “activist training” sessions to make “white privilege and colonialism visible” in schools.

The NEU has even suggested thattoddlers should be taught about the supposed evils of “white privilege” to develop “anti-racist views” within the minds of young children.

Rob Lowe Calls Out the Destruction of Hollywood Film Industry in Democrat-Run LA: ‘It’s Criminal’

3/24/25

Appearing on his Literally! podcast with guest Adam Scott, Rob Lowe blasted California and Los Angeles saying it’s “criminal” what the state and city have done to the entertainment industry with their overweening rules and extreme costs and taxes.

During the episode, Scott brought up how Lowe had filmed his game show, The Floor, at Ardmore Studios in Bray, Ireland.

Lowe explained thatit is “cheaper to bring a hundred American people to Ireland than to walk across the lot at Fox, right past the soundstages and do it there.”

Scott replied that it is “crazy” and asked Lowe if they were shooting Parks and Recreation today if they’d have moved the production to the country of Budapest. Lowe replied, “100 percent we would be.”

“It’s so weird how nothing shoots in Los Angeles,” Scott said.

“Nothing,” Lowe replied. “I had my next show already done, scripts, deals closed, and they said we’re shooting this in New York, and I saidI’m not moving to New York to do this, and it went away. The show’s done. Not doing it,” Lowe revealed.

“It’s too expensive to shoot here,” Scott added.

“There are no tax credits,”Lowe noted. “All thoseother places are offering 40 percent, and then on top of that there’s other stuff that they do.And then, that’s not even talking about the union stuff. That’s just the tax economics of it all”

“So, it’s criminal what California and LA have let happen. It’s criminal. Everybody should be fired,” Lowe insisted.

Last year, the L.A. Times reported that even three years after the worst of the COVID pandemic,Hollywood’s film industry jobs had still not made a come back, and were, instead, still falling. And Deadline reported that the film industry is experiencing a “full-scale depression.”

Arrested Erdogan rival wins presidential nomination

Nearly 15 million people have voted for Ekrem Imamoglu as the Republican People’s Party’s candidate in Türkiye’s 2028 election

Ekrem Imamoglu, the jailed former mayor of Istanbul and potential rival to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has secured the opposition party’s presidential nomination for the 2028 election, the Republican People’s Party (CHP) announced on Sunday.

CHP chairman Ozgur Ozel said nearly 15 million people voted in the party’s primaries in support of Imamoglu’s candidacy, despite his arrest earlier this week.

The number of votes Mr. Ekrem Imamoglu received from our members and the solidarity ballot box is over 14.8 million,” Ozel said at a rally in Istanbul.

The vote came just hours after Imamoglu was formally arrested and suspended from office. He was detained on Wednesday in a sweeping corruption probe and now faces charges of extortion, bribery, and alleged ties to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which Türkiye designates a terrorist group. Imamoglu has denied all wrongdoing.

The CHP has denounced Imamoglu’s arrest as a “coup attempt,” alleging that the charges are aimed at eliminating Erdogan’s top challenger= ahead of the next election. The party organized internal primaries nationwide to gauge party support for Imamoglu, but also invited the general public to take part through “solidarity boxes.” Ozel said the voting hours had to be extended and more ballots printed due to the overwhelming turnout.

“You saw it. There were not enough ballots to vote, not enough envelopes to put them in, not enough hours to vote,” he said, calling the turnout “the strongest response” to what the party described as a politically motivated prosecution.

Ozel declared Imamoglu’s nomination official and urged Erdogan to call early elections, claiming Sunday’s vote “questioned [Erdogan’s] legitimacy.” He insisted that “early presidential elections are now inevitable.”

A party spokesman confirmed to AFP on Monday that Imamoglu would be the CHP’s presidential candidate for the 2028 race.

Imamoglu’s arrest has sparked widespread unrest across Türkiye. Mass protests erupted in several major cities, including Istanbul and Ankara, with demonstrators clashing with riot police. The authorities have confirmed the arrest of more than 300 people as of Sunday morning. Videos posted online show police using water cannons, pepper spray, and rubber bullets to disperse crowds.

Israeli diplomat suggests ‘killing off’ teenagers in Gaza – leaked VIDEO

Palestinian minors should face a death sentence if they are seen carrying arms, David Roet has said

Israeli’s ambassador to Austria, David Roet, has insisted that Palestinian teenagers in Gaza should be put to death if they are spotted carrying a weapon, according to a leaked recording that went viral on social media last week.

The secret two-minute recording, dated March 20, apparently captures a closed-door meeting Roet held with the local Jewish community in Innsbruck. In the clip, the envoy can be heard dismissing reports of civilian casualties in the Palestinian enclave, stating “if you’re believing that Israel is targeting babies intentionally, [this] is not correct.”

He then notes that “there are no uninvolved in Gaza.” “There should be a death sentence to be killed off… In war, if you hold a gun, even if you are a 16-year-old… [or] a child, a 17-year-old, [who] holds a grenade,” he adds.

Roet then warns thatshould the EU be “crazy enough” to invest in rebuilding Gaza, Israel would have to “destroy” it once again.

In a statement circulated on social media, the activist who recorded the meeting and whose name is unknown condemned the ambassador’s remarks, stating:“I felt sickened by the calm in Mr. Roet’s voice as he made these statements. No one intervened when he suggested the death penalty for children.”

He also suggested that “this makes me think how corrupted the issue is when people with the power to change something suggest committing war crimes as a solution.”

Roet has yet to comment on the recording.

The incident comes amid escalating violence in Gaza as a ceasefire, which was declared in January and led, among other things, to the release of a number of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, expired earlier this month. On Tuesday, Israel resumed airstrikes in the enclave after accusing Hamas of sabotaging the deal.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated that the strikes are a response to “Hamas’s repeated refusal to release our hostages, as well as its rejection of all of the proposals” it has received from the US and other mediators. “Israel will, from now on, act against Hamas with increasing military strength,” the statement read.

Israel’s campaign against Hamas in response to the October 7 attack has led to unprecedented destruction in Gaza. According to the enclave’s Health Ministry, at least 50,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the hostilities, while Israeli officials estimate the country’s losses at more than 1,700. Additionally, the UN estimates that over 13,000 children have been killed in Gaza, with thousands more injured.
