From a March 2025 @USGSA survey of 29 agencies, there are 111 instances of 59 unique HR software products offered by 19 commercial vendors and 11 federal “vendors”. Price per employee for these systems are 3-10x higher than in private industry. And the majority of said systems do not allow the agencies to easily create or view a basic org chart.

Secretary Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke testifed about a proposed regulations allowing the federal government to purchase "toxic" financial assets through a public-private venture and expanding the federal government's authority to seize both banks and other financial institutions. They spoke about bonuses paid to American International Group (AIG) and oversight of federal investments in the private financial sector. In their answers to questions from the committee they said that while they were vaguely aware of provisions to pay bonuses, they were not fully aware that some bonuses were destined for employees in the financial products division. They also said that they would explore legal avenues to recoup the bonuses, but cautioned against overreacting too aggressively.

March For Our Lives Rally

Thousands gathered in downtown Washington, D.C. for the "March for Our Lives" rally. An estimated 800 similar marches happened around the world. The event was organized in response to the February 14, 2018, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, as well as other school shootings since the 1999 Columbine High School shooting in Colorado. Several Marjory Stoneman Douglas students addressed the rally, and they were joined by other students affected by gun violence from around the country . In their speeches they called for legislation to help end gun violence. Several artists performed at the event including Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Ben Platt.

President Biden met with Cabinet members and immigration officials to discuss the rise in unaccompanied minors at the U.S.-Mexico border.
