So Much Winning: Hyundai Latest Company In A Long Line To Announce Billion Dollar Investments In U.S.TYLER DURDEN MAR 24, 2025

Hyundai Motor Co. plans to invest $20 billion in the U.S., a move President Trump will highlight during a White House event with Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, according to Bloomberg.

A portion of the investment will fund a new steel mill in Louisiana, expected to employ 1,500 workers and supply Hyundai and Kia's American EV production. The announcement comes amid growing trade tensions, with Trump set to roll out reciprocal tariffs on April 2 targeting countries he deems unfair to U.S. trade interests.

Hyundai’s decision mirrors a broader trend of foreign companies increasing U.S. production to avoid Trump’s escalating tariff threats.

The Bloomberg article notes that the president has already imposed 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum and has hinted at new levies on sectors like autos, semiconductors, and pharmaceuticals. South Korea, labeled a trade abuser by Trump, may be among the nations targeted, though officials have yet to release a final list.

Trump’s aggressive tariff agenda has injected uncertainty into global markets and rattled domestic industries, particularly autos and steel. While domestic steelmakers may see short-term gains, analysts warn that high borrowing costs, inflation, and weakening demand could dampen the benefits.

Meanwhile,Trump has offered temporary relief to automakers on tariffsfrom Mexico and Canada, underlining his broader goal to localize supply chains and reduce reliance on foreign imports.

Recall, in recent days, the Trump team is racking up victories related to bringing investment back to the United States.Among them, Rolls-Royce also announced it was going to be ramping up production in the U.S., Yahoo Finance/The Telegraph reported.

The company, which employs 6,000 people across 11 American sites,is expediting a review that could lead to hiring more U.S. workers and expanding North American operationsto avoid the brunt of rising protectionism.

Insiders say the firm is "tipping the balance" toward the U.S., aligning—perhaps reluctantly—with Trump’s push to revive American manufacturing through aggressive trade policies.

Meanwhile, the UAE has pledged toinvest $1.4 trillion in the U.S.over the next decade, following a meeting between President Trump and an Emirati official, Forbes reported.

The deal, which includes funding for AI, semiconductors, andU.S. manufacturing, marks a major expansionof existing ties and followsEmirati billionaire Hussain Sajwani’s earlier $20 billion commitmentto U.S. data centers.

How a Major Democratic Law Firm Ended Up Bowing to Trump

By Michael S. SchmidtMatthew GoldsteinJessica Silver-Greenberg and Ben Protess March 21, 2025

Paul Weiss was targeted by an executive order from President Trump. Its chairman, who had worked against Mr. Trump during his first term, then went to the Oval Office and cut a deal. (At the top of the most powerful law firms in DC, Paul Weiss was the most murderous, evil Lawyer that started all the hoaxs and persecutions.)

Brad S. Karp, the chairman of Paul Weiss, led efforts against some of President Trump’s first-term policies. His decision this week to make a deal with Mr. Trump left many in the legal world, including some in his own firm, reeling.

(NYTs is horrified, they corroborated with this and other law firms. They are freaking out where they are going to get the "articles into the future)

Since President Trump’s first term, Brad S. Karp, the chairman of the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, championed himself as a bulwark against what he saw as an unlawful and unpredictable presidency.

Mr. Karp, who has a long history of fund-raising for Democrats, sought tounite major law firms in “a call to arms” to fight Mr. Trump in courton issues like his administration’s policy of separating migrant children from their parents. He publicly said lawyers were obligated to defend the rule of law.

He hosted a “Lawyers for Biden” fund-raiser in 2023, and one of his top partners prepared Vice President Kamala Harris for her debates with Mr. Trump.

A version of this article appears in print on March 23, 2025, Section A, Page 1 of the New York edition with the headline: How a Law Firm Decided to Fold Instead of Fight.

See more on: Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison, Donald Trump, U.S. Politics, Mark F Pomerantz

Trump took down the Head Honchos of all Head Honchos in DC law firms. Weiss and Karp bossed around all the other law firms.

This is the shortest article the NYTs has ever produced.

Powerhouse law firm makes overture to Trump

Ben Smith, Liz Hoffman, and Gina Chon Mar 19, 2025, (Kekdo they really think any American is going to be sympathetic to their firms?) (obviously lefties writing this)

The Scoop

One of the US’ top law firms is scrambling to blunt an attack from the Trump administration.

Brad Karp, the chairman of Paul Weissand one of the most powerful lawyers in New York, has been in Washington this week meeting with officials in President Donald Trump’sorbit, people familiar with the matter said, days after the White House issued an executive order revoking the security clearance of attorneys working at the firm.

Karp, people familiar with the matter said,is discussing a particular path back into the administration’s good graces: helping the White House respond to alleged instancesof antisemitism that came out of the wave of campus protests last year. Trump this week ordered Columbia University to oust some academic leaders or risk its federal funding, his boldest broadside yet against a set of elite universities he feels have fostered antisemitic and otherwise “woke” cultures.

Trump’s executive order last week attacked Paul Weissfor pro bono work against Jan. 6 defendants, for employing a lawyer who later worked on the Manhattan district attorney’s investigations of Trump, and for diversity practices the White House calls “discrimination.” (Pomerants)

The order also bars Paul Weiss employees from federal buildings and federal jobs and orders federal agencies to terminate contracts with the firm.

Paul Weiss is one of a wave of powerfull and well-connected institution — a list led by universities and law firms — that have suddenly found themselves in deep trouble in Trump’s Washington, scrambling for allies and hiring lobbyists.

The details of the firm’s discussions with Trump allies are unclear, but could cast Paul Weiss, a historically Democratic-leaning shop, and Karp, a major backer of Kamala Harris’ campaign,as an arbiter in the fraught national discussion around campus politics and free speech.

A representative for Paul Weiss didn’t respond to a request for comment. A White House spokesman declined to comment.

Know More

Three law firmswith ties to the Democratic Party or Trump’s political opponents — Paul Weiss, Perkins Coie, and Covington & Burling — have seen the security clearances of some or all of their lawyers suspended.

Another 20 firms this week received a letterfrom the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission requesting details of their diversity, equity, and inclusion policies.

A federal judge last week halted parts of Trump’s order against Perkins Coie, which represented Hillary Clinton in 2016 and contracted with a firm that produced the Steele dossier, calling it an unconstitutional use of “taxpayer dollars and government resources … to pursue a personal vendetta.” (Not for long)

Notable(Notable to fucking who?)

• “Lawyers might not be the most sympathetic group targeted by Trump, but they perform a foundational role in safeguarding the rule of law,” writes the Washington Post editorial board.

Presidential Actions

ADDRESSING RISKS FROM PAUL WEISS

The White House

March 14, 2025

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered:

Section 1. Background. Global law firms have for years played an outsized role in undermining the judicial process and in the destruction of bedrock American principles. Many have engaged in activities that make our communities less safe, increase burdens on local businesses, limit constitutional freedoms, and degrade the quality of American elections. Additionally, they have sometimes done so on behalf of clients, pro bono, or ostensibly “for the public good” — potentially depriving those who cannot otherwise afford the benefit of top legal talent the access to justice deserved by all.My Administration will no longer support taxpayer funds sponsoring such harm.

My Administration has already taken action to address some of the significant risks and egregious conduct associated with law firms, andI have determined that similar action is necessary to end Government sponsorship of harmful activity by an additional law firm: Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP (Paul Weiss). In 2021, a Paul Weiss partner and former leading prosecutor in the office ofSpecial Counsel Robert Muellerbrought a pro bono suit against individuals alleged to have participated in the events that occurred at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, on behalf of the District of Columbia Attorney General.

In 2022, Paul Weiss hired unethical attorney Mark Pomerantz, who had previously left Paul Weiss to join the Manhattan District Attorney’s office solely to manufacture a prosecution against meand who, according to his co-workers, unethically led witnesses in ways designed to implicate me. After being unable to convince even Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg that a fraud case was feasible, Pomerantz engaged in a media campaign to gin up support for this unwarranted prosecution.

Additionally,Paul Weiss discriminates against its own employees on the basis of race and other categories prohibited by civil rights laws. Paul Weiss, along with nearly every other large, influential, or industry leading law firm, makes decisions around “targets” based on race and sex. My Administration is committed to ending such unlawful discrimination perpetrated in the name of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” policies and ensuring that Federal benefits support the laws and policies of the United States, including those laws and policies promoting our national security and respecting the democratic process. Those who engage in blatant discrimination and other activities inconsistent with the interests of the United States should not have access to our Nation’s secrets nor be deemed responsible stewards of any Federal funds.

Sec. 2. Security Clearance Review. (a) The Attorney General, the Director of National Intelligence, and all other relevant heads of executive departments and agencies (agencies) shall immediately take steps consistent with applicable law to suspend any active security clearances held by individuals at Paul Weiss and Mark Pomerantz, pending a review of whether such clearances are consistent with the national interest.

(b) The Office of Management and Budget shall identify all Government goods, property, material, and services, including Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities, provided for the benefit of Paul Weiss. The heads of all agencies providing such material or services shall, to the extent permitted by law, expeditiously cease such provision.

Sec. 3. Contracting. (a) To prevent the transfer of taxpayer dollars to Federal contractors whose earnings subsidize, among other things, activities that are not aligned with American interests, including racial discrimination, Government contracting agencies shall, to the extent permissible by law, require Government contractors to disclose any business they do with Paul Weiss and whether that business is related to the subject of the Government contract.

(b) The heads of all agencies shall review all contracts with Paul Weiss or with entities that disclose doing business with Paul Weiss under subsection (a) of this section. To the extent permitted by law, the heads of agencies shall:

(i) take appropriate steps to terminate any contract, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation, for which Paul Weiss has been hired to perform any service;…

Special Operations vet commutes by Flying Car from rural off-grid home

This is cool!

In the remote mountains of Washington’s North Cascades, Tim Lum commutes in a way few can imagine—by flying car.

From his off-grid home in Twisp, the retired Air Force pararescueman pilots his all-electric BlackFly, an ultralight aircraft that lifts off from his property and cruises at 62 miles per hour. With a battery range of just 20 miles and a recharge cost of about 30 cents, it’s not replacing road travel anytime soon.

But for Lum, it’s a thrilling way to bypass rugged terrain—and a surprisingly practical way to visit neighbors, where he can plug in before flying home.

A veteran who spent decades jumping out of military aircraft on rescue missions from the Horn of Africa to Afghanistan, Lum was searching for an alternative to paragliding when he came across the BlackFly.

Lighter and far cheaper to operate than a helicopter, it requires no general aviation license and falls under the same regulations as a hang glider. While some locals have mistaken it for a UFO, others have complained about its high-pitched whir.

Despite its limitations, Lum has become one of the most experienced BlackFly pilots, logging around 400 takeoffs and landings. He believes personal flight is the future, even if today’s models are still in their infancy. For now, it’s already changing how he moves through the world—whether landing in suburban cul-de-sacs or lifting off from his remote homestead.

Taxpayer-Funded Immigration Group Chaired by DOJ Employee Wants To Abolish ICE, Defund Police

Immigrant Defenders Law Center calls to 'dismantle the systems that seek to deport our clients' Chuck Ross March 21, 2025

A left-wing group battling the Trump administration to maintain lucrative taxpayer-funded immigration contracts has called to defund police departments and abolish the federal agency that deports illegal aliens.

Immigrant Defenders Law Center (ImmDef), a nonprofit chaired by Department of Justice employee Marisa Arrona, has received $17 million in federal funding since last year to provide legal services to illegal aliens facing deportation, according to federal records. ImmDef is a subcontractor for a $769 million program to provide services to minors apprehended at the border without parents.==

ImmDef and its allies are desperately fighting against the Trump administration in an attempt to maintain funding for that program and others that provide services to illegal immigrants. ImmDef has accused the Trump administration of "playing games with children's rights and their safety" and says the program is needed to "protect due process" rights for illegal immigrants facing deportation.

But ImmDef has gone far beyond merely providing legal services to illegal immigrants facing deportation. The group, founded in 2015, has called for the government to "dismantle the systems that seek to deport our clients."

During the height of the Black Lives Matter movement, ImmDef called for dismantling "the police state by defunding and decreasing police budgets."

ImmDef says it is "high time we abolish the immigration prison system and abolish ICE" and sold "Abolish ICE" face masks during the height of the coronavirus pandemic. In September 2020, ImmDef circulated the since-debunked MSNBC report that a doctor at an ICE facility in Georgia performed unnecessary hysterectomies on female detainees. "#AbolishICE," ImmDef wrote on a social media post at the time.

According to former federal immigration judge Matt O'Brien, funding for groups like ImmDef highlights Democrats' efforts to "funnel taxpayer funds into the coffers of these radical groups" in support of an "anti-borders agenda."

"It's a basic principle of American-style democracy that reasonable minds may differ on political issues. However, there is ahuge difference between advocating a policy position and actively encouraging foreign nationals to break our laws," said O'Brien, the director of investigations at the Immigration Law Reform Institute.

ImmDef receives most of its federal funding through the Acacia Center for Justice, a nonprofit that oversees a$769 million federal contractto house and counsel unaccompanied children. Acacia Center paid $17 million to ImmDef last year for contracts approved by the Department of Interior and Department of Justice to provide legal representation to minors who came to the United States without their parents.

Like ImmDef, Acacia Center has called for an end to the detention of illegal immigrants and a pause on nearly all deportations. Acacia Center has alleged that the immigration system is "intentionally designed" to exploit "Black and brown people." It opposes the use of police officers for "immigration purposes" and says that "no immigrant should be detained," the Washington Free Beacon reported.

According to O'Brien, theBiden administration engaged in a "deliberate attempt" to fill federal agenciessuch as the Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security with officials "willing to ignore America's immigration laws on purely ideological grounds."

No wonder they focused on an enormous amount of children coming through the southern border, these NGOs get a lot more money for them, and they work with them for years, for more money.

Russian journalists killed by Ukrainian strike

A civilian vehicle carrying the reporters was allegedly hit by two US-made HIMARS missiles

A Russian journalistic crew filming in the Lugansk People’s Republiccame under a Ukrainian artillery strike on Monday, with the attack leaving at least three dead.

The attack claimed the lives of Aleksandr Fedorchak, a reporter for the Izvestia newspaper; Andrey Panov, a cameraman for Zvezda TV; and their driver, Aleksandr Sirekli.Their vehicle was reportedly struck by two projectiles fired from a US-supplied Ukrainian HIMARS multiple rocket launcher system. Another journalist was critically wounded in the attack, according to Russian media reports.

“A civilian vehicle carrying journalists was targeted by two HIMARS missiles,” Zvezda TV said in a statement.

The incident became “yet another terrible loss for our team,” Izvestia’s director, Vladimir Tyulin, has said. Earlier this year, a freelance reporter for the newspaper, Aleksandr Martemyanov, was killed in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic when the civilian vehicle he was in was attacked by a Ukrainian drone.

Kiev has been receiving M142 HIMARS and its heavier tracked counterpart, the M270 MLRS, from the US and other Western backers since mid-2022. Initially touted as a key tool for striking high-value Russian military assets, thesystems have routinely been used by Kiev for strikes on civilian targets deep beyond the front line.

Ukraine was reportedly briefly cut off from HIMARS targeting data earlier this month amid the fallout of the Oval Office row between Vladimir Zelensky and US President Donald Trump. The access to targeting data, however, was reinstated shortly.

Moscow has repeatedly said that it was impossible for Kiev to operate sophisticated systems, such as HIMARS, without direct Western input, arguing that the supply of intelligence and targeting data makes Ukraine’s backers complicit in its attacks and a party to the enduring conflict.

Ukraine is trying desperately to draw Russia into a war, so any negotiations for peace are destroyed, when is the Trump Team going to deal with this.

Russia-US talks in Saudi Arabia wrap up

The two delegations negotiated for over 12 hours on settling the Ukraine conflict

Talks between senior Russian and American officials focused on a settlement of the Ukraine conflict and maritime security in the Black Sea, have concluded in the Saudi capital of Riyadhafter more than 12 hours.

A joint statement on the talks is expected to be released on Tuesday, Russian news agencies RIA Novosti and TASS reported, citing sources.

The Russian Foreign Ministry released a short video showing the country’s negotiating team leaving the talks. “The Russian-American consultations have concluded,” the ministry said without providing any further details.

Grigory Karasin, a veteran diplomat and chairman of the parliamentary International Relations Committee who is part of the Russian delegation, has described the Riyadh talks as “creative” but also “technical.”

“Not every negotiation yields a high-profile document or agreement,” Karasin told reporters earlier in the day during a break in the negotiations.“What matters is maintaining communication and understanding each other’s positions. In this regard, we are succeeding.

The talks primarily revolved around maritime security in the Black Sea and the prospects of resurrecting the Black Sea Initiative, popularly known as the “grain deal,” which was originally mediated by the UN and Türkiye. Russia withdrew from the deal in July 2023, citing the West’s failure to meet its end of the deal.

“If you recall [the original version] of the deal, there were significant obligations made to our side that were never fulfilled. This remains part of the agenda,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier in the day.

US President Donald Trump has floated the idea of revisiting the deal as a part of his effort to reach a broader truce between Moscow and Kiev, Peskov explained.

Zelensky’s office like a ‘psych ward’ – Moscow

Time magazine has released a photo of the Ukrainian leader in front of a painting depicting the Kremlin engulfed in flames

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has compared Vladimir Zelensky’s office to a “psychiatric hospital” over his choice of paintings.

Photos published by Time magazine on Monday showZelensky posing in front of two war-themed paintings — one depicting Ukrainian troops fighting on Russian territory, and the other, reportedly his favorite, showing the Kremlin engulfed in flames.

The photo of Zelensky standing beside the paintings was reportedly taken as he gave Time correspondent Simon Shuster a tour of his office one evening earlier in March. The report also mentioned a third painting, showing a Russian warship sinking in the Black Sea, though it was not visible in the photo. Time said Zelensky selected the paintings himself, and that they now hang in a small room behind his main office.

Asked by TASS to comment on the images, Zakharova replied simply “a psych ward,” without further elaboration.

Her view was echoed by Vladimir Dzhabarov, deputy head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Russia’s upper chamber, the Federation Council. He said thepainting of the burning Kremlin in Zelensky’s office pointed to the latter’s limited mental capacity.

“The man is sick in the head,” Dzhabarov told Lenta.ru on Monday.“Would it occur to a normal person to hang such paintings? He made his dreams come true, apparently the dreams of all Ukrainian neo-Nazis…” he said.

Zakharova has previously branded Zelensky a“monster” and a “maniac [gripped by] sick delusions” over his nuclear rhetoric and past remarks about attacking the Kremlin.

In October 2022, Zelensky called on the international community to carry out “preemptive strikes” on the Kremlin if Russia attacked Bankovaya Street, where his office is located.

Zelensky has also expressed regret that he could not strike the Kremlin using long-range weapons supplied to Kiev by Western countries. The Kremlin described the comments as “nothing else than a call to start a world war.”

Zelensky claims Russia has ‘influenced’ US officials

Russian “information” may have swayed the White House on Ukraine policy, the Ukrainian leader has told Time magazine

Russia may have influenced members of the US administration “through information,” Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has claimed in an interview with Time magazine.

His comments come as US President Donald Trump has acknowledged some of Moscow’s concerns regarding the root causes of the crisis. These include the Kremlin’s repeated criticisms of NATO’s continued expansion towards Russia’s borders and its opposition to having Ukraine become a member of the bloc.

Commenting on recent Russia-US contacts, particularly the phone calls between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin,Zelensky lamented that the White House was being receptive to information coming out of Moscow. During the latest call, Putin told Trump that Ukraine’s incursion forces had been surrounded in Russia’s Kursk Region but Zelensky has denied this claim.

“I believe Russia has managed to influence some people on the White House team through information,” Zelensky told the magazine.“Their signal to the Americans was that the Ukrainians do not want to end the war, and something should be done to force them.” (Rogue CIA coaching Zelensky and Team, this itself is meant to insult Trump and Team. They want the negotiations to end so badly, they desperately cast rumors and lies, it won’t work. Zelensky has not even seen the intense and powerful Trump yet, just wait, it will be astounding. )

According to Time correspondent Simon Shuster, during the interview Zelensky showed him three paintings hanging in “a small room behind his office” in Kiev. One, described as his favorite, depicts the Kremlin engulfed in flames. He said that each of the pictures is “about victory.”

Since the escalation of hostilities in 2022, Russia has repeatedly emphasized that it remains open to negotiating a peaceful resolution of the conflictand has accused Kiev of refusing to talk and attempting to prolong the fighting.

In February, during a meeting in the Oval Office, Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance also publicly blasted Zelensky over his refusal to negotiate with Russia. Following that meeting, the US administration announced a temporary suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

US aid to Kiev was resumed after Ukraine agreed to a 30-day ceasefire proposal. Last week, after Putin’s phone call with Trump, Moscow rejected a full truce but approved a month-long pause on energy infrastructure strikes. Zelensky later agreed to the measure.

Since then, however,Russian officials have repeatedly accused Kiev of violating the truceby carrying out drone strikes on key energy infrastructure facilities on Russian territory. Moscow has maintained that Ukraine’s actions, including its attacks on civilian infrastructure, justify the characterization of the government in Kiev as a terrorist regime and indicate it doesn’t want peace.

A key Ukrainian foreign affairs official has lashed out at Steve Witkoff for “spreading Russian propaganda”

US President Donald Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, who has played a central role in opening negotiations on resolving the Ukraine conflict,is “spreading Russian propaganda” and should be sacked, according to a senior Ukrainian lawmaker.

The head of the Kiev’s Foreign Affairs Committee, ==Aleksandr Merezhko, made the remark in response to Witkoff’s interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson=, during which the envoy spoke about the status of former Ukrainian territories that have joined Russia, describing the issue as “an elephant in the room” that “no one wants to talk about.”

“They’re Russian-speaking. There have been referendums where the overwhelming majority of the people have indicated that they want to be under Russian rule,” Witkoff said.

“The Russians are de facto in control of these territories. The question is: Will the world acknowledge that those are Russian territories? Can [Vladimir] Zelensky survive politically if he acknowledges this? This is the central issue in the conflict,”he added.

Merezhkostrongly condemned the “disgraceful, shocking statements,” accusing the Witkoff of acting as an envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin rather than of the Trump.

“We are talking about a representative of the president who should have professional expertise in this matter and know some basic things. obvious things. And he doesn’t know this. He spreads Russian propaganda,” the lawmaker insisted in a televised interview. Merezhko said that he wasn’t sure if “ignorance, naivety, or unprofessionalism” was behind Witkoff’s statements and called for the US official should be booted from his role.

“We clearly can’t dictate to American friends who should represent them. But this personneeds to be removed from this delegation, he should not be a representative of the [US] president.Since he’s either completely unprofessional or simply repeats Putin’s narratives,” Merezhko added.

Moscow and Kiev have taken bipolar positions on the former-Ukrainian Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions and the Donbass republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, all of which officially joined Russia in autumn 2022 following a series of referendums. Kiev also formally claims Russia’s Crimea, which seceded from Ukraine in the aftermath of a violent Western-backed coup in Kiev and joined Russia in 2014, as its own.

Moscow has repeatedly signaled that its sovereignty over the territories is not negotiable, while Kiev has pledged to seize back control of all the territories it claims as its own. The Ukrainian leadership has seemingly softened its rhetoric of late, now insisting it will never recognize “occupation” of the territories and Russian sovereignty over them in any form.

US-linked energy group condemns Ukrainian pipeline attack

The targeted facility is part-owned by Chevron and ExxonMobil

An international oil consortium that includes US companies has condemned recent drone attacks attributed to Ukraine on vital energy infrastructure in Russia’s Krasnodar Region. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, a Ukrainian armed drone was shot down overnight near an oil pumping station managed by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).

CPC operates a major pipeline system carrying crude oil from the oil fields in Kazakhstan and Russia’s Caspian region to the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk and on to global markets. The project is jointly owned by several stakeholders from Russia, Kazakhstan, and overseas energy companies, such as US oil giants Chevron and ExxonMobil.

“The actions of the Ukrainian authorities have a destructive impact on CPC’s financial results and, as a consequence, on all of its shareholders, including the Republic of Kazakhstan and companies from the United States,” the consortium said in a statement on Monday.

The latest attack on the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station in Krasnodar Region reportedly took place in the early hours of Monday morning. Russian air defense systems intercepted a Ukrainian UAV several kilometers from the facility, according to the Defense Ministry.

The station was targeted by drones laden with explosives and metal shrapnel in mid-February, forcing the CPC to reduce its annual transportation forecast.

The subsequent destructionof another CPC-operated oil transfer station in Krasnodar Region last weekled to an indefinite halt of operations, the CPC said. The consortium said it is currently working to restore the Kropotkinskaya station.

The CPC “strongly condemns” such actions, which “undermine the foundations of global energy security,” complicate production and transportation of oil, and also threaten personnel and the environment, the statement said.

The attacks come after Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump approved a partial ceasefire, under which both Moscow and Kiev committed to refraining from strikes on energy infrastructure. The agreement aims to pave the way for a broader truce.

Moscow has accused Kiev of a “provocation,” while stressing that it will continue to uphold the moratorium on strikes against Ukrainian energy infrastructure.Kiev has not issued an official statement about the attack.
