""I have no problem, and federal law is currently that if you are here in the country illegal, you are deportable. If you're here in the country illegally, and you are, and you're convicted of a crime, you get sent out… I'm 120% in favor of deporting people who here are undocumented who commit a crime," said Himes, who voted against the Laken Riley Act.

Yet he supports the Trust Act which allows illegals convicted of Class C or Class D felonies to go right back into the community after completing their sentence, without providing any notification to ICE about their pending release.

Guess he's not 120% in favor of deporting those "undocumented who commit a crime" is he?

Himes gaslit us again when he denied that Connecticut government was using the Trust Act to "protect the undocumented" when the truth is they have been using the Trust Act "for protecting undocumented immigrants" for at least six years at this point!

"Just to clarify what is happening here in Connecticut. No, the governor nor the government here has said we will protect the undocumented. What they have said is that we will not use our local law enforcement and our state law enforcement to cooperate with federal law enforcement on deportations," said Himes to loud applause.

"And maybe they do that for ethical reasons, but they certainly do it because our local law enforcement and our state, uh, troopers are not trained the way CBP and ICE officers are trained, and so that's what they're saying," he continued.

Just to be clear, Himes wants you to believe that Connecticut law enforcement officers are trained on how to contact ICE if they are about to release an illegal convicted of a Class A or Class B felony after their sentence is served… but not trained on how to contact ICE if they are about to release an illegal convicted of a Class C or Class D felony.

And most people in the audience actually believed what he said.
