How to Add Someone to Signal Chat
To add someone to a private chat in Signal, you can either use their phone number or their username. If you know their username, open Signal, tap on the New Chat bar, and type their exact username to send them a message request. They will see your profile name and profile photo when you send them a message request, not your username.
If you are using their phone number, start a new chat by entering their phone number in the New Chat bar. If they accept your message request, you can then proceed to have a private chat with them.
If you want to keep your phone number private from the people you speak with, you can use Signal usernames to connect without sharing your phone number. To create a username, go to Settings Profile and follow the instructions.
