For all of those interested Jim Sinclair, aka Toby became an influential autistic activist and writer who has played a pivotal role in the neurodiversity movement. Sinclair co-founded Autism Network International (ANI) alongside Xenia Grant and Donna Williams, becoming its first coordinator. They are renowned for their anti-cure stance on autism, emphasizing that autism is an integral aspect of an individual's identity and should not be eradicated. Their 1993 essay, "Don't Mourn for Us," is considered a cornerstone of the autism rights movement, challenging prevailing perceptions of autism and advocating for acceptance.

In addition to their advocacy, Sinclair established and organized Autreat, the first autistic-run gathering, which they managed for fifteen years. This event provided a space for autistic individuals to connect and celebrate neurodiversity.

Sinclair's contributions have significantly shaped the discourse on autism and neurodiversity, promoting a deeper understanding and acceptance of diverse neurological identities.
