Overview

Toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by asingle-celled parasite called Toxoplasma gondii.It is the leading cause of death from foodborne illness in the United States.

 

The parasite occurs worldwide and can last for long periods of time (up to a lifetime) in human bodies (and other animals).

Pregnant women and people who are immunocompromised (have a weakened immune system) can take steps to reduce their risk of infection due to Toxoplasma infection causing more serious health problems.

No one said it's just toxo, but it appears to be a factor.1

 

My take is that it greases the wheels to suggestion of things a normal person wouldn't ordinarily do, reckless behavior which can be guided for good or bad actions I suppose.
