After a long quiet spell (not counting coronal hole streams) the Sun is firing off an X-flare.

Very preliminary as its ongoing. More details will get filled in shortly as to magnitude, location, CMEs, etc…

As I'm typing this it looks like it might be leveling off at the the X1.1 range.
