There is nothing stopping you from living communism. You can move to a country where it is in place, or you can get a group of friends and like minded commies together and start a commune.
Communes were very big in the 60s and 70s as communists got together to practice what they preached. They weren’t yet demanding that everyone else live like they wanted to. So they went to form their own communes and share in work and assets.
But you should know, young Padowan, that the communes though many, did not last long. There was always the freeloader who didn’t want to work. The woman who got extra everything due to her ‘assets’. The guy who was sleeping with everyone’s old lady and stealing everybody’s weed.
They didn’t last— none of them out of the hundreds— because if human nature. We get it. You want someone to take care of you. Feed you. Make things fair for you. But the rest of us have confidence in our own abilities to make our yen say in this world.
You will yes, try to push your ways in everyone. Communism must be forced on people who don’t want to suck on someone else’s teat to live. You think them uneducated and you’ll force them ‘for their own good’.
But they know far more than you about history and humanity than you will —until you get to be 40 and rethinking your fedora life during your midlife crisis. You’ll remember today.
