In the lead-up to the Wisconsin state Supreme Court race, a series of attack ads have emerged, linking Elon Musk to former attorney general candidate Brad Schimel, the race's runner-up.These ads aim to highlight Schimel’s connections to Musk, suggesting that the conservative candidate's political views align with those of the billionaire entrepreneur, who has been a controversial figure in national politics under the current Trump administration. With just three days until Tuesday's election, the Democratic Party has intensified efforts to leverage the connection between Elon Musk and Brad Schimel through targeted airwaves. Wisconsin Democrats have launched two ads linking the billionaire and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to Schimel, using several attack lines designed to sway voters. These ads come as the race for the state Supreme Court is quickly becoming one of the most expensive in the state's history.
In one ad, the narrator accuses Musk of being a “power hungry billionaire” who is “buying” votes to prop up Schimel in the race.
“Elon Musk is out of control, and now the power-hungry billionaire is unloading millions to buy the Wisconsin Supreme Court,” the ad says. “He knows corrupt politician Brad Schimel is for sale and will abolish the checks and balances that protect us.”
Musk has already poured millions into the high-stakes race for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He has been one of the most significant donors and advocates for the Republican Party in get-out-the-vote initiatives for the race, which will determine critical issues for the state, including abortion rights, collective bargaining, and voter access.
Out of the $73 million that has already been invested in the race, Musk has donated the most significant donor, contributing over $14 million to support Schimel’s campaign. Last week, Musk donated $2 million to the Wisconsin Republican Party and another $1.2 million to Schimel’s effort. (He’s only put in $2 million)
Ben Wikler, chair of the state Democratic Party, stated that Democrats are outraged by Musk’s involvement in the race. He said that the race is a chance to show that Musk’s money is “politically toxic.”
“Democrats are furious about Musk, and independents are increasingly freaked out about the way that Musk is attacking thingslike Social Security and childhood brain cancer research,” Wikler said. “Our test of our first Musk ad found that it moved likely 2025 voters by 6.2 percentage points.”
According to a Marquette University poll, 97 percent of Wisconsin Democrats are anti-Musk.(Lie, definitely). Charles Franklin, who leads the Marquette University polling, believes the attacks on Musk are likely to resonate strongly with the Democratic base. He added that by tying Musk to the race, Democrats are effectively nationalizing the election, hoping to leverage party polarization to boost turnout among Democratic voters.

Kiev’s forces have launched a series of strikes targeting power lines in Belgorod Region, the Defense Ministry has said
Ukrainian forces are increasinglytargeting Russian civilian energy infrastructure despite claims by Kiev that it is sticking to a moratorium on such strikes, the Defense Ministry has said. According to the Russian military, more than 9,000 people have been left without electricity in Belgorod Region alone after a series of Ukrainian attacks.
Kiev has beenlaunching drone attacks against Belgorod Region since early morning on Saturday, according to a statement published by the ministry on Telegram. It said the strikes mostly targeted power lines and transformer substations.
Serious damage to two power lines caused major blackouts in two areas, affecting1,100 and over 8,000 local residents respectively, according to the ministry’s data.

Amsterdam stabbing suspect is Ukrainian citizen – police
A man who injured five people with knives comes from a region formerly controlled by Kiev, Dutch media have said citing security sources
Dutch police have revealed the identity of the suspect who seriously injured five people with knives in Amsterdam. Local media reported on Friday, citing security sources, thatthe suspect is 30-year-old Ukraininan citizen Roman D. He is originally from Donetsk Region– a former part of Ukraine that voted to join Russia in 2022.
On Thursday,five people were stabbed in the Dutch capital, when a man armed with several knives attacked passers-by in the historic city center. The suspect was stopped by an unnamed tourist, reportedlyfrom the UK, who chased the man and restrained him.
According to De Telegraaf, the presumedattacker had false identity papers and refused to give his real personal details. The man is currently in a hospital under strict guard. Police say his motives are still unknown. It is also believed that his choice of victims was random.
Two Americans – a 67-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man, a 26-year-old man with Polish nationality, a 73-year-old woman from Belgium and a 19-year-old local girl were injured in the attack.
The tourist who managed to stop the suspect was praised by local police and officials, who called him “a true hero”. However, they did not reveal his identity and called on the public to exercise caution in making a citizen’s arrest, as “most people are not trained for this sort of thing.”

UEFA members want Russian return – Independent
“Elevated” football figures are reportedly willing to reinstate the country to competitions “tomorrow,” according to the outlet
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA)=is reportedly taking steps to lift a ban on Russian participationin international competition, The Independent reported on Thursday, citing a senior source in the organization.
A number of international sports organizations, including UEFA and its global counterpart FIFA,banned Russian teams from participating in tournamentsfollowing the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022.
According to The Independent, however, the issue of lifting the UEFA ban could come up during the organization’s congress scheduled for the Serbian capital Belgrade next week.
“Moves are currently happening to get Russia back into football,” the British outlet quoted one senior UEFA source as saying,adding that there are “elevated football figures who would ‘have them back tomorrow.’”
Other figures withinUEFA have reportedly insisted that the ban shouldn’t have been imposed in the first place.
According to The Independent,senior UEFA officials are already setting out a roadmap for Russia’s return, which would appear especially likely once a ceasefire is established in the Ukraine conflict.
A source further claimed that “Zurich-based politics” means that the International Olympic Committee would be the first to “normalize”Russia once a truce between Moscow and Kiev is agreed, followed by the International Hockey Federation and football organizations.

Iran ‘doesn’t care’ about Trump’s ‘threats’ – senior commander

Iran will not bow to US pressure to resume talks over its nuclear program, a top naval commander has said, stressing that Tehran is ready to strike back in the event of an American attack.
In an interview with al-Mayadeen TV channel on Saturday, Alireza Tangsiri, commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, pushed back against US President Donald Trump’s recent ultimatum urging the country to enter new nuclear talks.
“I have no knowledge of Trump’s message, nor do I care to analyze it,” Tangsiri said. “I hear his threats, I observe his actions, and I prepare myself to counter them. We have the capability to strike all enemy bases, wherever they may be… No one can strike us and escape.Even if we have to chase them to the Gulf of Mexico, we would.”
Tangsiri also rejected any negotiations over Tehran’s missile arsenal or its backing of groups in the region. “Iran will never negotiate over its missiles or the capabilities of the Resistance Front,” he said.He also emphasized that the Islamic Republic seeks peaceful relations with its neighbors:“We always extend a hand of friendship to the countries in the region. As Muslims, we do not pose any threat to our neighboring countries.”
The remarks came in response to Trump’s comments on Friday, in which he confirmed sending a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, seeking to negotiate a nuclear deal.
“You’re gonna have to make a decision one way or the other,” Trump said.“We’re gonna either have to talk and talk it out, or very bad things are gonna happen to Iran. And I don’t want that to happen.” He added that if the US has “to go in militarily, it’s going to be a terrible thing.”
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that while the letter seemed threatening, it still contained “some opportunities” for Tehran.
The standoff follows years of tension over Tehran’s nuclear program. In 2015, Iran signed a deal with the US, the EU, Russia, and other world powers in which it agreed to limit its nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief. However, in 2018, Trump unilaterally withdrew America from the landmark agreement, calling it “a horrible one-sided deal”that had failed to achieve its goals.
Iran has not ruled out indirect talks on the matter but has refused to do so under duress. It also maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.

Brussels would do anything to avoid accountability for the billions of euros sent to Kiev, the Hungarian foreign minister has said
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has accused Brussels bureaucrats of clinging to a “failed pro-war policy” in a desperate attempt to delay the moment when European taxpayers begin asking where the money spent on bankrolling Kiev has gone.
TheEuropean Union recently advised its 450 million inhabitants to stockpile essential supplies for at least 72 hours, with EU Commissioner for Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib warning on Wednesday that the Ukraine conflict threatens the bloc’s overall security.
Szijjarto said he initially thought the warning was some kind of joke or “trolling,” after Lahbib posted a bizarre video showing Europeans what to pack in a 72-hour survival kit.
“But why, in the 21st century, should EU citizens prepare a survival kit? There’s only one explanation:Brussels is preparing for war,“ Szijjarto wrote in a post on X on Friday. “At a time when there’s finally a real chancefor a ceasefire and meaningful peace talks with [President Donald Trump’s] return to office, Brussels is going in the opposite direction, clinging to a failed pro-war policy.”

An extraordinary article last week by Miami Herald investigative reporter Antonio Maria Delgado provides clear answers. Delgado interviewed a team of high-level investigators and analysts who have been following the Venezuelan regime for over ten years.

This isn’t an accident—it’s a calculated move by Congress to streamline a complex system and prevent judicial overreach. The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) lays out a clear path: immigration cases start with administrative proceedings before immigration judges, move to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) if appealed, and then, if necessary, land in the federal circuit courts. District courts? They’re not part of the equation.
The reasoning is straightforward. Immigration enforcement and policy fall under the executive branch, with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) taking the lead. Congress recognized that letting district courts—trial-level bodies with limited geographic reach—meddle in these cases would create chaos. A single judge in, say, Texas or California could derail national policy with a ruling that conflicts with another district’s decision. To avoid this, the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) of 1996 explicitly stripped district courts of jurisdiction over deportation orders, funneling challenges to the circuit courts instead. The REAL ID Act of 2005 doubled down, slamming the door on habeas corpus petitions in district courts for immigration matters, declaring the courts of appeals the “sole and exclusive” venue for reviewing removal orders.
Why does this matter? Immigration isn’t like criminal or tort law, where district courts get involved. Yet, some activist lawyers try to bypass this setup, filing habeas petitions or lawsuits to snag a favorable ruling from a sympathetic judge. These moves often falter—higher courts routinely slap them down—but they gum up the works nonetheless.
Take the numbers: over 2 million cases clog the immigration court backlog as of late 2023, per the Government Accountability Office. District court meddling only slows things down, delaying outcomes for vulnerable people—like asylum seekers—or those without valid claims. Congress built this system for efficiency and uniformity, not judicial free-for-alls. When district judges step in, they’re not just overreaching; they’re defying a structure that’s been law for decades. The truth is, immigration law was never meant to be their playground—and that’s by design.
So these activist judges who continuously don’t know their place are insane.
