re: Trump for a third term

As happy as I am that Trump is POTUS I hope he does not try for a third+ term. First because it would set a very bad precedent. What would there be to stop Obama from doing the same thing? The original text of the Constitution had the vice president being the runner-up in the presidential race. So clearly the intent was for the qualifications for vice president to be the same as those for president. Under that standard if someone that has already served two terms as president can not run for a third term then they can not run for the vice president slot either. Yes the matter is made vague due to the 22nd amendment, but the principle remains. Personally I would rather see legislation that explicitly made the qualifications for VP the same as for POTUS. I hope that is why Trump is doing this.

The second reason is that using loopholes and arguing about what the meaning of the word is is, is what the uniparty and DSers do. For Trump to do so would lower him in my opinion. We need a return to principle not a continuation of the race to the legalistic bottom.
