United flight collides with a kite in latest incident at Reagan National Airport

EDT 30 Mar 2025,

A United flight collided with a kite as it tried to land at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in the latest airplane incident at the Virgina airport.

United Airlines flight 654 from Houston was attempting to land before tensions rose as a nearby kite flew 'right into the flightpath.'

'[The kite] was over the park. About 100 feet over the ground. It looked like it's right on the flight path…,' said air traffic control communications with the flight's pilots.

Police responded to reports of a kite flying at Gravely Point, which is prohibited in that area due to the dangers it poses to a low-flying aircraft, according to ABC 13.

Thankfully, the plane landed safely and there were no reported injuries or damages to the aircraft, United said in a statement to the outlet.

'We are aware of reports that a kite struck UA flight 654 from Houston to Reagan Airport in Washington DC,' the statement said.

'The aircraft landed safely, customers deplaned normally and upon inspection there was no damage to the aircraft.'

Authorities say that the kite was returned to its owner shortly after it was seized by officers. No charges were filed.

United flight confirms incident with kite during landing in DC.

On Friday, a Delta passenger flight departing Reagan National was diverted to avoid a potential collision with a group of Air Force jets.

Just earlier this week, the airport came under scrutiny following a physical altercation between two on-duty tower controllers after a blazing argument led one to punch the other.

By the time the brawling colleagues were separated on Thursday, there was blood spattered over a control console, according to our insider.

The tower would likely have had a supervisor and at least six or seven controllers directing air traffic at the time.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it is investigating the shocking incident.

‘I’ve heard of controllers going at it in the parking lot but this was on a whole new level,’ the source told DailyMail.com.

‘That facility is out of control. People are cracking because of what happened in January.’

Scientists issue warning after making disturbing find in chewing gum: 'The people I talk to are always surprised … when they find out'

Doric Sam

Thu, March 27, 2025 at 4:00 PM EDT

Purchasing a pack of gum can result in an unexpected source of plastic pollution winding up in your mouth.

What's happening?

As detailed by Futurism, microplastics expert David Jones of the United Kingdom's University of Portsmouth revealed in an essay published in The Conversationthat most modern chewing gum contains "a variety of oil-based synthetic rubbers" that can enter our bodies and pollute the environment when spat out.

Most chewing gum contains a synthetic gum base that binds the ingredients together, but that isn't even the worst of it. Jones pointed to a 2014 chemical analysis by the University of Arkansas that determined chewing gum "can contain everything from styrene-butadiene, which is what tires are made of; polyethylene, the chemical used for plastic bags; and polyvinyl acetate, which is better known as wood glue," per Futurism.

"The people I talk to are always surprised, and disgusted, when they find out they've been chewing on a lump of malleable plastic," Jones wrote. "Most manufacturers just don't advertise what gum is actually made of — they dodge around the detail by listing 'gum base' in the ingredients."

Why is this important?

Plastic being found in chewing gum is yet another discovery that shows how we unknowingly allow potentially harmful chemicals to enter our bodies and also pollute the environment.

Gum is typically improperly discarded and challenging to clean up when it's stuck to the pavement or underneath chairs, benches, or tables. Eventually, it will degrade and break down into microplastics, though Jones noted that the process could take decades.

Still, microplastics are incredibly invasive and can be found everywhere from food and drinks to the atmosphere, and even inside our bodies. These tiny particles take hundreds of years to break down, and there are signs they can lead to significant health risks, such as cancer, heart disease, and reproductive issues.

What's being done about this?

There are industry-funded initiatives to raise awareness for the need to properly dispose of gum waste and contribute to clean-up efforts, but Jones compared the campaigns to "plastic manufacturers paying for litter pickers and bin bags at volunteer beach cleans" and made it clear that "neither addresses the root cause of the problem."

This discovery highlights how plastic can pollute the environment in unusual ways. You can make a difference by opting for plastic-free alternatives, like reusable bottles and natural fiber clothing. Every effort, no matter how small, can contribute to a healthier lifestyle and a cleaner planet.

Trade whoresCan Canada survive a 19% drop in its GDP?MAR 301/2

As you read or view media reports on Trump’s Trade Wars, bear in mind these facts.

Mexico’s GDP is $1.8 trillion a year. Its exports to the United States are $506 billon a year.Exports to the USA make up 28% of its economy.

• Exports to Mexico make upless than 2% of our $27.7 trillion GDP.

• Canada’s GDP is $2.1 trillion. Its exports to the USA are$413 billion a year. Exports to the USA make up 19% of its economy.

Exports to Canada are less than 2% of our GDP.

Delusional politicians in Canada like Ontario’s Doug Ford are huffing and puffing like a fat man on mile two of a marathon race.

Ford said, “We’re going to make sure that we inflict as much pain as possible to the American people without inflicting pain on the Canadian population.”

As the Indian chief said, how. We can replace Canadian bacon with slices of ham.I don’t think the 51st state can replace its $100 billion trade surplus by opening a few more Tim Horton stores in Red China.

After being called America’s hat for so many years,Canadian politicians came to believe they are America’s brains. Who can blame them? Just consider how stupid our politicians are—or have been until this president returned.

Trump shocked Washington this timeby appointing a Cabinet of people who can think for themselves and actually run the departments the deep state experts thought they had all to themselves.

The Canadian trade imbalance is of recent vintage as the two countries generally swapped trade surpluses of $20 billion or less up until 2020.Biden ignored Trump’s free trade agreement with Canada (and Mexico). Also Biden’s shutting down American oil drilling made the nation more reliant on Canadian oil. This widened the gap.Mexico has always been a problem. Just wall it off. And maybe we can do the same to Canada.

Thepress, of course, is getting the story backward, acting as if Canada supplies the lifeblood of the USA’s economy.AP opined, “The U.S. cities most vulnerable to a trade war with Canada turn out to largely be in the states that helped return Donald Trump to the White House—a sign of the possible political risk he’s taking with his tariff plans.

“A new analysis released Thursday by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce detailed theareas most dependent on exports to Canada, with San Antonio and Detroittopping the list of 41 U.S. metro areas. The findings show that the United States’ 25% tariffs on Canada and Canada’s retaliations could inflict meaningful damage in key states for U.S. politics.”

Ah yes, AP cites a report by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce as if it were an objective observer.

CNN reported, “US-Canada relationship faces fundamental change amid trade threats, Canadian PM warns.”Oh? For a nation that hasn’t won a Stanley Cup in 30 years, its new PM sure sounds tough. Well, he’s tougher than Justin Castreau. Overboiled spaghetti is even tougher.

The new guy, Mark Carney, said, “It’s clear the U.S. is no longer a reliable partner. It is possible that with comprehensive negotiations, we could reestablish an element of confidence but there will be no going backwards.“There’s even more to do, and that’s why I chose to go to France and the United Kingdom, two long standing and reliable partners, friends and allies of Canada.”

So our NATO (ahem) allies are going to gang up on us.By long standing friends, does he mean France? Its Charles de Gaulle visited Canada for Expo ’67 in Montreal and called for the liberation of Quebec from Canada.France had already kicked Americans out as it enjoyed NATO protectionwithout hosting its protector. Those were the halcyon days of the 20th century. Strong men won The War and built a great economy.

Now Uncle Sugar is diabetic, sitting on a $37 trillion national debt. The days of taking advantage of the United States have disappeared. Our national wealth evaporated. We no longer have the luxury of providing Canada with 19% of its GDP or Mexico 28% of its economy.

When NATO needs us, we are there. When we could use a little help, only one NATO ally pitched in—Turkey. Biden paid farmers to kill 100 million laying hens to prevent them from possibly dying from bird flu. We had to kill the hens in order to save the henhouse.

Black Enterprise reported, “After Poland, Finland, and Denmark rejected proposals to export eggs to the United States, South Korea and Turkey stepped in== as a second option to hopefully drop the high prices and cater to the shortage, The Hill reported.

“Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced millions of eggs will be imported from the European and Asian countries in the next few weeks. The plan is an effort to drop the high cost of the products, easing the minds of Americans and combating concerns about the spread of the bird flu.

“‘We are talking in the hundreds of millions of eggs for the short term. So not insignificant, but significant enough to help continue to bring the prices down for right now,’ Rollins said.”

Carney, the incumbent PM of Canada demanded a divorce from the USA. His opponent said me too.

Pierre Poilievre tweeted, “My message to President Trump:The world needs our productsand our expertise. If you, Mr. Trump, do not want them, the rest of the world does. (KEK delusional, all of them)

“If you choose to go down this road, you will lose the greatest trading partner and friend you ever had.

“And within 4 years of a Canada First Conservative government, we will build a Canadian economic fortress that will allow us to be strong, self-reliant, stand on our own two feet, and stand up to the Americans.

“That is what it means to put Canada First, for a change.”Strong. Self-reliant. 19% smaller.

Canada and the Eurotrash statesare going after their longtime benefactor while cowering to Muslim invaders. Great Britain will outlaw ninja swords rather than confront the Muslim butchers who randomly attack Brits.

The strategy is clear. NATO frenemies like Canada plan to fight Trump for two years until Democrats sweep the 2026 elections.

American judges have the same strategy as they delay Trump’s deportations and reductions in spending.

That may well work. Scott Presler tweeted from the front lines, “I’m going to be honest with you, even if you don’t want to hear it: Republicans have been losing special elections all over the country—even red districts in Iowa & Pennsylvania.

“Democrats are fired up. Unless we begin focusing on ground game, we will lose 2025 & 2026.”

We may laugh at Jasmine Swivelhead, but her voters don’t and they could outnumber us.

Democrats and foreign nations would rather kill the economy than let Trump succeed. That’s what they did in 2020 with covid.

But Canada and Europe need us more than we need them.

Two poll questions today.

EXCLUSIVE Inside Karoline Leavitt's 'nontraditional' media event at the White House… as she makes pointed snub at CNN

29 Mar 2025 By CHARLIE SPIERING, SENIOR POLITICAL

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday debuted a special event for podcasters, as she continues expanding access to President Donald Trump's administration.

Leavitt taunted the establishment media as she debuted the new event where members of the White House communications team and cabinet members made the rounds with various podcast stars.

'I bet you, the people in that room have much more viewers than CNN and the legacy media, just saying,' she said in a video posted to social media. 'We're proud to welcome them to the White House.'

Staffers set up a room in the executive office building on the White House grounds for podcast and camera crews who participated in the event.

Podcasters Michael Knowles of the Daily Wire, Jack Posobiec of Human Events, Dr. Drew Piskey, Sage Steele, War Room's Natalie Winters, NewsNation correspondent Libbey Dean and David Freiheit were among the list of podcasters and new media figures at the event.

'Our inaugural Podcast Row at the White House was a rousing success,' White House Deputy Communications Director Kaelan Dorr said to DailyMail.com.

Dorr explained that President Joe Biden's administration had effectively frozen out some of the new media voices, including prominent podcast platforms.

'We've made it clear from the beginning that we will attempt to communicate the President's agenda to as many Americans as possibleby providing unprecedented access to administration officials for outlets that have been overlooked by prior administrations,' he

White House and cabinet officials who made the rounds included Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, and Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought.

'The last time you and I were together, we spent about 20 hours on a train together to go and see President Zelensky over in Ukraine, although I trust your commute today was a little better than that,' Posobiec joked with Bessent, recalling their travel together for high-level negotiations in Ukraine.

Posobiec's trip to Ukraine demonstrated a strong commitment from the administration to an ongoing relationship with podcast and new media figures by opening up access.

Leavitt has opened up a 'new media' seat in the White House press room and also routinely adds podcasters and influencers to the press lineup at the White House and on Air Force One.

Leavitt herself joined the interview circuit on Podcast row as well as Dorr and Principal Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields.

'We're adjusting to the times, like we're really doing throughout the entire administration … we're just trying to bring our country to 2025,' Fields told Posobiec.

'We're trying to make sure that everybody has access,' Deputy White House Communications Director Kaelan Dorr said during his interview.

Dorr, who helps run the White House digital shop, said he and his team were laser focused on delivering the president's message across all digital platforms and social media.

'We're pushing the limits on everything but we're not hyper fixated on trends if that makes sense,' he said.

Alina Habba, who was preparing to return to New Jersey as President Trump's interim U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba, indicated she would miss the White House but was ready to bring Trump's sense of justice to her home state.

'I'm not going to be weak, as anybody could imagine,' Habba told Posobiec. 'I'll be really hard on crime. I don't think New Jersey has had that for some time.'

EMERGENCY DOCKET

Trump asks justices to intervene on Alien Enemies Act removals (UPDATED)

By Amy Howe1/2

on Mar 28, 2025 at 12:03 pm

The Trump administration came to the Supreme Court on Friday morning, asking the justices to allow it to enforce an executive order that directs government officials to quickly remove, without a hearing, noncitizens who are designated as members of a Venezuelan gang. The order relies on a 1798 law that until now has only been invoked during wartime.

Earlier this month, Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg barred the federal government from removing any of the alleged members of the gang, or anyone else, under the Alien Enemies Act.

In 40-page filing, Acting Solicitor General Sarah Harris told the justices that the dispute “presents fundamental questions about who decides how to conduct sensitive national-security operations in this country — the President, through Article II” of the Constitution, “or the Judiciary,” through temporary restraining orders. “The Constitution,” Harris wrote, “supplies a clear answer: the President. The republic cannot afford a different choice.”

The White House issued the executive order on March 15. It targets Tren de Aragua, a large Venezuelan gang that originated in the country’s prisons and then expanded into other parts of Latin America, where it has been responsible for sex trafficking, drugs, and human smuggling. The gang extended its presence to the United States, prompting then-candidate Donald Trump to falsely contend during a 2024 presidential debate that the gang had taken over the city of Aurora, Colo., outside Denver.

The 18th -century Alien Enemies Act allows the president to detain or deport citizens of an enemy nation without a hearing or any other judicial review when Congress has declared war or when an “invasion” or “predatory incursion” takes place. It was invoked during the War of 1812, World War I, and World War II.

In his executive order, Trump found that Tren de Aragua – which Secretary of State Marco Rubio designated as a “foreign terrorist organization” in February – “is perpetrating, attempting, and threatening an invasion or predatory incursion against the territory of the United States.” Based on that conclusion, he indicated that “all Venezuelan citizens 14 years of age or older who are members of TdA are liable to be apprehended, restrained, secured, and removed as Alien Enemies.”

Five Venezuelan nationals in immigration custody who feared they would be removed went to federal court in Washington, D.C., to challenge Trump’s use of the Alien Enemies Act and seeking to stave off their removals.

Boasberg barred the federal government from removing any of the individual plaintiffs for 14 days. Later the same day, he prohibited the government from removing anyone under the Alien Enemies Act; during a hearing, he also ordered any flights that had already taken off to remove noncitizens under the law to return to the United States.

Since Boasberg’s initial hearing on March 15, there have been ongoing proceedings in his court relating to the government’s compliance with his orders. The individual plaintiffs named in the case remain in detention in the United States, but news reports indicated that more than 200 noncitizens were removed to El Salvador on Saturday night and Sunday morning. None of the planes carrying those noncitizens landed in El Salvador before Boasberg issued his written order.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit fast-tracked the government’s appeal, hearing argument on March 24 and rejecting the government’s request to put Boasberg’s orders on hold two days later, by a vote of 2-1.

Boasberg’s orders, the Trump administration contended “now jeopardize sensitive diplomatic negotiations and delicate national-security operations, which were designed to extirpate TdA’s presence in our country before it gains a greater foothold.”

The divided ruling by the D.C. Circuit, the Trump administration continued, also “cries out for” the justices to step in. The Supreme Court “has held that detentions and removals under the Alien Enemies Act are so bound up with national-security judgments” that courts generally can not weigh in at all, except through some habeas corpus claims – that is, an action to be brought before a court to determine the legality of an individual’s detention. But the D.C. Circuit did not decide whether the plaintiffs in this case should have instead filed a habeas lawsuit in Texas, where they are being held.

Boasberg was also wrong when he granted relief to a nationwide class, made up of anyone in the custody of the federal government who might be subject to Trump’s order, Harris wrote. Among other things, she argued, there are too many differences among the members of the class: Trump’s order applies only to people who are members of TdA, but the individuals named in the complaint in this case contend that they are notmembers of the group. A majority of the D.C. Circuit, Harris added, “did not reach these objections, even though the government raised them below.”

Moreover, Harris continued, the lower courts did not consider whether Trump’s order itself is legal – which, she insisted, it is. Trump, she wrote, found “that TdA is both tied to the Maduro regime and itself has gained control over parts of Venezuelan territory,” and “that it has engaged in an ‘invasion’ or ‘predatory incursion’ into our country.” “As a majority of the D.C. Circuit agreed,” she emphasized, “those findings — if reviewable at all — receive the requisite deference due the President’s national security judgments.”

Harris repeated her plea, made in earlier filings, for the Supreme Court to intervene to stop what she characterized as “rule-by-TRO from further upending the separation of powers.” In this case, she complained, “the district court’s orders have rebuffed the President’s judgment as to how to protect the Nation against foreign terrorist organizations and risk debilitating effects for delicate foreign negotiations. More broadly, rule-by-TRO has become so commonplace among district courts that the Executive Branch’s basic functions are in peril.” Since the inauguration of President Donald Trump on Jan. 20, she noted, district courts “have issued more than 40 injunctions or TROs against the Executive Branch.”

Harris also asked the justices to issue an administrative stay – that is, a temporary order blocking Boasberg’s orders to give the Supreme Court time to consider her emergency appeal.

Chief Justice John Roberts on Friday instructed lawyers for the plaintiffs to file their response by 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1.

Dear President Trump:

Please revoke Judge Boasberg's security clearance.

He has demonstrated he cannot be trusted with keeping secrets.

Here is the fatal flaw with DC Obama Judge Jeb Boasberg's order:

Even if these designated foreign terrorists are entitled to individual court review before their deportation, which is disputed, the DC court is not the proper court.

Judge Boasberg did not, and does not, have the power to do what he is purporting to do. For this reason alone, everything he is doing is lawless. But it is much worse; it is also dangerous.

Judge Boasberg ran to his courtroom to hold a Saturday hearing, even though he was not even serving as the emergency judge that weekend. (How did he get this case?) He publicly exposed an ongoing U.S. military, intelligence, and law-enforcement operation with an American ally dealing with the most vicious terrorists (Tren de Aragua) and international gang member (MS13) in the Western Hemisphere.

That public exposure put American and allied lives in grave danger.

Stunningly, Judge Boasberg even ordered the President to turn around planes full of terrorists over the Gulf of America, without knowing the fuel levels, the security footprint back in America, or other crucial operational details.

We saw the enormous security footprint in El Salvador. Why would we have had that same footprint in America, as who could have ever imagined an activist DC judge could or would order the President to return planes full of terrorists?

And not completing the mission would have humiliated and politically damaged El Salvador's president, who had hundreds of military, law-enforcement, and other officials awaiting–and who took a significant political and personal risk by agreeing to take these terrorists.

Judge Boasberg's Saturday hearing and order crossed the red line. But Judge Boasberg is doubling down by demanding details about the military operation, to which he is not entitled. Judge Boasberg says he has a security clearance, but he definitely does not have the need to know. And allowing judges to meddle in military operations like this is dangerous and unacceptable.

Foreign leaders are less likely to work with the President, if they fear an activist American judge may disclose their secrets. This harms the President’s ability to conduct foreign policy and his constitutional duty to keep us safe.

The President has a constitutional duty, as the chief executive officer and commander-in-chief, to conduct international affairs, repeal foreign invasion, and protect American lives. The President has a constitutional duty to ignore any clearly unlawful court order that imminently endangers American lives, like Judge Boasberg's orders.

Judge Boasberg is refusing to back down. So the House must move forward with impeachment proceedings for his lawless and dangerous sabotage of the President's core Article II powers.

Alaskan Tribes ‘Applaud’ Trump Admin Revoking ‘Deeply Flawed’ Biden Admin Energy Policy

AUDREY STREB

March 26, 2025

Native American tribes in Alaska celebrated the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) decision to reinstate leasing and expansion for Alaska’s oil and gas, community leaders told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

DOI announced Thursday that DOI Secretary Doug Burgum is “taking immediate steps to unleash Alaska’s untapped natural resource potential and support President Donald Trump’s vision of American Energy Dominance,” through reopening oil drilling in areas that the Biden administration had previously moved to shut down.Native community leaders in Alaska told the DCNF that the DOI under the Trump administration has taken a step in a “favorable” direction.

“It’s cautious optimism,”Nagruk Harcharek, president of Voice of the Arctic Iñupiat, (VOICE) anonprofit organization that represents 21 different Native American corporations and communities in Alaska, told the DCNF. “We feel like we’re going to be able to get some things done with a more favorable administration, but we’re also being careful about it because we don’t want to threaten that cultural base and lifestyle that we rely on every day.”

Drilling activity is again open for development on the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska(NPR-A) and the Arctic Wildlife National Refuge’s (ANWR) Coastal Plain, after the Biden administration moved to forward a 2023 proposed rule to shut down development in 2024. VOICE and its members announced that they “applaud the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Actions on the North Slope,” in a March 20 press release shared with the DCNF.

It was just constant barrage of surprise after surprise,” Harcharek recalled the actions of the Biden administrationto the DCNF. Harcharek referenced that theprevious administration claimed to be the “most tribally friendly administration in the history of the United States,” though the native communities in the North Slope of Alaska “didn’t get that sentiment whatsoever.”

Harcharek signaled that the Biden administration promised “meaningful consultation with the indigenous communities who stand to be most affected by policy decisions,” on paper, andthat they “were hopeful that it would be included in those dialogues” surrounding the National Petroleum Reserve. He said there was “very minimal consultation,” though this impacts his communities’ “backyard.”

“Oftentimes we were finding out policy changes in the news,” Harcharek said. “Which is not ideal when they have our phone numbers.”

“VOICE gets mischaracterized as an oil and gas advocacy organization and that’s not true,” Harcharek said. “We are here to advocate for an economic base to support our communities and to support our culture.” Harcharek continued to note that“it just so happens that the way we do that right now” is through advocating for pro-oil and pro-gas policies in Alaska“because the economic base the North Slope is through resource development.”

Harcharek noted that 95% of the North Slope budget comes from oil and gas infrastructure taxes. “The economy in the North Slope is oil and gas activity,” he said.Schools, healthcare, roads and running water all came from the “economic base our early leaders ensured that we had access to,”Harcharek said, expressing concerns that without access to oil and gas resource development, their community is forced “to rely on the state and the federal government.”

“Secretary Burgum’s decision … suggests our community’s voice is finally being heard in Washington,” Kaktovik Iñupiat Corporation (KIC) president Charles Lampe wrote in the press release.=Reopening these lands for “development opportunities on the Coastal Plain” is met with “overwhelming support from our community,” Lampe continued.

“DOI’s announcement is a positive step toward stronger engagement with North Slope Iñupiat communities—and a welcome change from the last administration’s approach that put politics over our people, our self-determination, and its legal obligation to consult with governments on the North Slope,” Iñupiat Community of the Arctic Slope natural resources director and tribal secretary Doreen Leavitt told the DCNF. “We appreciate Secretary Burgum’s early attention to our region and encourage the Trump-Vance administration to maintain open, ongoing dialogue with North Slope leaders to ensure policies that support our communities and self-determination in the long-term.”

“The Department of Interior’s decision last week makes it clear that Alaska is once again being put at the forefront of America’s energy future,” Republican Alaska Rep. Nick Begich told the DCNF. “The voices of North Slope Iñupiat communities were not given a seat at the table under the Biden Administration and Alaska’s resources were locked up with the stroke of a pen.”

The decision to reinstate leases and open the door to responsible development in NPR-A and ANWR will benefit Alaska Native communities across the state and every household and business that relies on reliable energy,” Begich continued. “When Alaskans have the freedom to develop our vast natural resources, every American stands to benefit – from lower energy prices to stronger national security. Energy touches every aspect of American life. From heating our homes and fueling our economy to ensuring the strength of our supply chains – energy is freedom.” “The road to American energy dominance begins in Alaska, and I will continue working alongside the Trump Administration to ensure Alaskans are not just heard but are leading the way in securing America’s energy future,” Begich said.

Alaska Sens. Murkowski and Sullivan’s offices did not offer a comment but instead pointed the DCNF to a Thursday press release from the Alaskan delegation.

The group wrote on X in April 2024 that the Biden administration “cannot credibly claim this is for us when our communities & culture will suffer from this rule.”

“North Slope Iñupiat leaders were not consulted by the federal government prior to its actions,” the press release states.“By excluding local Indigenous communities from the policymaking table, the Biden administration produced deeply flawed policies that would have imposed dire economic consequenceson the North Slope Iñupiat’s communities and culture.”

The DOI and Burgum’s announcement “shows that this administration is taking a different approach than its predecessor by listening to North Slope Iñupiat voices,” wrote Iñupiat Community of the Arctic Slope natural resources director and tribal secretary Doreen Leavitt in the press release.“While these early executive and secretarial actions are promising, it is important that the Trump-Vance administration engage early and frequently with our North Slope leadersto ensure durable policy in our region that benefits our communities and advances our self-determination in the long term.”

Ukraine conflict ‘all about Russia’ – former US Army officer(VIDEO)

The US and NATO have directed the fighting against Moscow since the beginning of the crisis, Stanislav Krapivnik has

The Ukraine conflict has been “all about Russia”from the beginning, driven by Washington’s ambition to dismantle the country as a political, economic, and military power, former US Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik has told RT.

He was commenting on an investigation by the New York Times, which claimed that the Ukraine conflict is part of a series of US-led proxy wars against Russia.

According to the report published on Saturday, the administration of former US President Joe Biden developed an “extraordinary partnership of intelligence, strategy, planning and technology” with Kiev in its fight against Russia.

Speaking to RT on Sunday,Krapivnik suggested that Washington and London, as well as NATO in general, have been the ones that are “actually controlling the game.”

“The British were behind the Snake Island attacks, the countless attacks that were rebuffed with major losses to the special forces in Ukraine. And the British were just sending them out and sending them out,” Krapivnik said, referring to a strategic island near the Ukrainian port city of Odessa, which was heavily contested during the early months of the conflict.

He went on to claim that NATO was also behind the invasion ofRussia’s Kursk Region last August, when Ukrainian forces captured Sudzha and multiple villages in a matter of days.

“The Kiev invasion of southwestern Kursk looked like a typical NATO-planned mission, minus enough aviation,” Krapivnik said.

With US President Donald Trump no longer seen as an allyto Kiev due to his push to swiftly end the conflict, Ukraine’sVladimir Zelensky is now “a lot more now under the French, British, the Anglo-Franco Union.”

“He’s now further under them becausehe doesn’t want this war to end. It could possibly be the end of his life, and he knows it,” Krapivnik believes.

Regarding Ukraine’s violations of a 30-day ceasefire on energy infrastructure agreed to with the US following talks in Saudi Arabia on March 15, Krapivniksaid Kiev “just breaks whatever promises it’s made.”

‘No proof’ Russia behind Baltic Sea cable ruptures – WSJ

Western officials earlier blamed Moscow for damage to subsea power and communications lines in the waterway, a notion Russia has repeatedly dismissed

Western investigators have found no evidence linking Russia to a series of ruptures in underwater cables in the Baltic Sea, The Wall Street Journal has reported, citing officials familiar with the probes by the countries affected.

A string of incidents over the past year and a half involving damage to power and communications lines initially prompted some NATO and EU officials to accuse Moscow of sabotage and “hybrid warfare.” The incidents involved vessels traveling to and from Russian ports and included damage to a gas pipeline in the Gulf of Finland in October 2023 and a rupture of the EstLink 2 power cable in December last year. Each case allegedly involved Russia-linked vessels, with investigators saying the cables may have been dragged by the ships’ anchors.

Despite suspicions of Russia’s involvement, no conclusive evidence has surfaced. The WSJ reported on Sunday that officials involved in the probes have found “no proof” that Moscow “ordered or orchestrated” the damage.

Moscow, which considers the Baltic Sea a strategic area for its naval operations and energy exports, has repeatedly dismissed the allegations of sabotageand accused the West of spreading a false narrative that frames routine accidents as evidence of its involvement. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov earlier called it “absurd” to keep blaming Russia “without any reason.”

In January, under the pretext of protecting undersea infrastructure in the Baltic Sea, NATO launched a new patrol mission ‘Baltic Sentry’ in the waterway. However, Belgian Navy Commander Erik Kockx, whose task force is part of the mission, told the WSJ his team largely functions “as security cameras,” adding that it remains unclear whether NATO’s presence has had an effect on the waterway’s safety.

“It’s quite difficult to prove that our presence helps,” Kockx said. “It’s hard to say that if we hadn’t been there, something would have occurred.”

The WSJ also noted that the Baltic Sea floor is littered with wrecks and unexploded ordnance from the two world wars, which potentially contribute to incidents such as cable ruptures. Another problem exacerbating the situation is a lack of centralized data on undersea infrastructure because most information is held by national governments or private companies. NATO’s first unified map of the Baltic seabed was only completed last year.

In January, the Washington Post reported that there was aconsensus among US and European intelligence officials that Russia was not to blame for the incidents in the Baltic. According to that report, classified intelligence and intercepted communications suggested the cable ruptures were likely “maritime accidents”involving undertrained crews and poorly maintained ships.
