Funny you bring thatup. I'm a military brat and later married my wife who was in the military. I've lived all over the USA and many parts of the world. Many times I purposely combine 'colloquialisms' from several places I've lived just to throw people off.
I lived in the UK once and later worked for a British based company in the USA. I became a whistleblower against the company and in my letter I used nothing but British phrasing and slang.
