Same here.

We kept track of our memorable Summers by referencing which kid in the neighborhood had which injury that year from doing stupid stuff like this.

We had the "Summer of Tommy on the Monkey Bars (broken arm)," the "Summer of Jimmy with the burnt hand (firecrackers)", the "Summer of Teddy with the Broken Knee (childhood prank)", etc., etc.

Boy were we spoilt.

Sorry to hear you broke your arm, too, but damn, you're one of the cool kids.

We grew up at a time when we all said The Pledge of Allegiance each morning and had a Moment Of Silence to pray to God at the beginning of each day in public school.

We made tree forts that were about 100 feet in the air and damn near got killed every time we climbed up and down; we rode Raleigh Choppas and ten speeds and jumped over logs and ponds; we played "ring and run" even when the homeowners were young enough to chase us, and we played sports all day and night.

Some of us ended up in the NFL and NHL.

Many others ended up in the United States Military.

Some went to medical school, grad school, and law school.

And some of us ended up here on the board, taking down Communists from behind the scenes. . .
