I haven't heard anyone address the repercussions of this dust up with China, who has been using our money gleaned from trade imbalances, tariffs, trade restrictions, patent/copyright theft, counterfeit products, currency manipulation and such against us.
How many public officials nationwide, local, state and federal, industrialists, financiers, bankers, NGO's, political groups, churches, immigrant organizations, news organizations etc. are getting some sort of controlling or influential "contributions" from China with our own money? Now that the ratlines are being cut or pressured, what kind of pressure is China applying to those people and institutions?
Are they going to expose them? Threaten to expose them? Cut them off from the grift? Threaten to cut them off? What are all those (likely millions) of compromised traitors going to do as the pressure ramps up from both sides, China and their own nation?
Was/Is this a ploy by DJT to expose them all ("We caught them all")? Is this going to lead to "Suicide Weekend"? Is the Brunson case still on the back burner to clean out congress? Was the fleeting report of audits of 156 Democrats and 7 Republicans into the origin of their great wealth accumulation while serving in Congress part of this?
This is waay more than just a trade disagreement, it has elements of bribery, fraud, theft, embezzlement, Oaths of Office and of course, Treason shot through it. There are a lot of pieces moving on the chessboard.
