Trump's claim of treason related to Miles Taylor is habitual in his Art of the Deal. Attention - grabbing statement is what it was. He also chose Miles because he has a strong case of criminal acts. This is his "test" case. Miles lied to engage MSM to join his hoax. It was to further his attempt to thwart the agenda. This is what happened for the entirety of his first term and it is happening now with Judges. It wasn't a single leader of a scheme but rather a large number of people who used their abilities to subvert his Presidency. It was a loose organization but a conspiracy just the same. It was multiple conspiracies without a central leader. I have searched through every statute that should cover this and find nothing BIG. The closest I can get is conspiracy to defraud the government. Punishable by 5 years. These people may have committed additional crimes in the process for more time but it isn't treason, sedition, coup or anything else. Conspiracy to defraud the government is based on the fact that they took a paycheck to do a specific job and did the opposite. The fact they lied or perpetrated a hoax is what catches them and makes it a crime. They would either be a patriot acting in what they thought was the best interest of the country as required or they were disloyal to the country by lying to thwart the will of the people.
