Novavax Shares Crash After RFK Jr. Comments

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in his first national TV appearance as Health and Human Services Secretary under the Trump administration, questioned the effectiveness of Novavax's Covid vaccine during an interview with CBS News' chief medical correspondent, Dr. Jon LaPook. The interview, which cast doubt on the shot, sent shares of the Maryland-based biotech firm crashing on Thursday.

RFK Jr. told LaPook that Novavax's shot targets just one piece of the virus, an approach he said has "never worked" for respiratory illnesses:

We're looking at that vaccine, and it is a single-antigen vaccine. And, for respiratory illnesses, the single-antigen vaccines have never worked and we're actually shifting our priorities to multiple-antigen vaccines. And NIH is already working on a number of those.

RFK Jr.'s comments sent Novavax shares into a tailspin, plunging 24% during late-morning trading in New York. The stock has already suffered steep losses in recent years, falling back to pre-pandemic lows after the pandemic ended.

US Spy Chief Gabbard Starts Task Force To Investigate Intelligence Community

Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard announced the establishment of a new task force charged with restoring transparency and accountability to the Intelligence Community (IC).

Her newly-established Director’s Initiatives Group (DIG) is already hard at work executing President Trump's Executive Orders aimed at rebuilding trust in the IC — starting with investigating weaponization, rooting out deep-seeded politicization, exposing unauthorized disclosures of classified intelligence, and declassifying information that serves a public interest. The DIG is also leading assessments of IC structure, resourcing, and personnel to improve efficiency and eliminate wasteful spending.

“In order to rebuild trust in the Intelligence Community and execute the tasks required by President Trump’s intelligence-related Executive Orders, I established the Director’s Initiatives Group to bring about transparency and accountability across the IC. We are already identifying wasteful spending in real time, streamlining outdated processes, reviewing documents for declassification, and leading ongoing efforts to root out abuses of power and politicization.

“President Trump promised the American people maximum transparency and accountability. We are committed to executing the President’s vision and focusing the Intelligence Community on its core mission: ensuring our security by providing the President and policymakers with timely, apolitical, objective, relevant intelligence to inform their decision-making to ensure the safety, security and freedom of the American people,” said DNI Gabbard.

Under the direction of DNI Gabbard, the work of the DIG is well underway and has thus far implemented the following actions:

Reviewing documents for potential declassification — including information related to COVID-19 origins, Crossfire Hurricane, Anomalous Health Incidents, the Biden Administration’s domestic surveillance and censorship actions against Americans, and more.

Identifying wasteful spending, inefficiencies, and bloated bureaucracy.

Declassification and release of the JFK, RFK, and MLK assassination files.

Per POTUS’s directive, DNI Gabbard has taken steps to restore trust in the Intelligence Community by revoking security clearances for individuals who no longer have an active role in national security — including former President Biden, Liz Cheney, and Hillary Clinton.

Further, the Director held employees who participated in sexually-explicit NSA chatrooms accountable, and has begun pursuing unauthorized leaks of classified information within the IC.

"Shit's Breaking Again…"

While many of the biggest trading desks are saying, "buy Mortimer buy!" as Trump provided the pain relief yesterday, most obviously highlighted by the 3rd best day for US equities in history, this morning it appears we have woken up with a hangover from the policy pivot party.

“We still believe the anxiety around tariffs are alive and well. Volatility works in both directions — down and up. The path forward likely includes more market swings as we do not have a conclusion. In fact, we have the opposite, a likely extension of the tariff negotiation process,” said Nathan Thooft at Manulife Investment Management in Boston, which oversees $160 billion.

CPI and Jobless claims this morning removed considerable threat of stagflation, though of course, the former - we are constantly told this morning - is 'backward looking'.

“Healthy drop in inflation or big drop in demand?” said Bret Kenwell at eToro.

“At the end of the day, we do need to see lower inflation to justify lower rates from the Fed and ease the burden on consumers. However, getting lower inflation due to a material drop in economic activity — and thereby jeopardizing the economy — isn’t the best route to take.”

US equity markets have retraced more than half of the gains already….

Infrastructure Sabotage: Telecoms Giants Warn NATO of Global Internet, Power Outages

Subsea cables are vulnerable to sabotage with potentially devastating consequences and investment is needed to better protect world connectivity from attack, a group of telecoms giants have said in an open letter.

Addressing The European Union, the United Kingdom, and NATO, a group of telecoms companies have warned of the consequences of further sabotage attacks against global data networks, what they call “subsea critical infrastructure security”. While the group commended efforts already underway to “protect critical infrastructure”, they said more needed to be done.

“The entire subsea cable ecosystem must be regarded as critical infrastructure”, they warned, stating: “The repercussions of damage to subsea cables extend far beyond Europe, potentially affecting global internet and power infrastructure, international communications, financial transactions, and critical services worldwide.”

Part of the answer, they stated, was deploying “surveillance and protection technologies” to harden networks against attacks, and to allow a more rapid response to catch perpetrators when attacks take place.

The telecoms giants that signed the letter were France’s Alcatel, Danish cable maker NKT, France Telecom’s Orange, Belgium’s Belgacom-Proximus, internet backbone giant Telecom Italia Sparkle, Spain’s Telefónica, British multinational Vodafone, and Norway’s state-owned Telenor.

While attention has been focussed on infrastructure sabotage over a spate of high-profile alleged attacks by Russan ships against subsea cables in the Baltic, Russia is not the only actor in this sphere, and a regular drumbeat of less-publicised political attacks frequently take place in Europe.

Profits Over Patients: How Big Pharma Weaves Its Web Of Corruption And Drug Dependency

From clinical trial design to regulatory approval, from direct-to-consumer advertising to medical education, from controlling medical journals to silencing dissenting voices, the industry has built an intricate and self-reinforcing web—one that traps doctors, patients, and even regulators in a cycle of pharmaceutical dependence.

I never set out to be an advocate. I wasn’t a doctor, scientist, or policy expert. I was just a regular person who, like so many, blindly trusted that our healthcare system was designed to protect us.

But life has a way of pulling us into the arena when we least expect it.

After the tragic and unexpected loss of my husband Woody to the antidepressant Zoloft he was prescribed for insomnia, I was thrust into a world I never imagined—one where medicine wasn’t solely about healing, but deeply entangled in a system that prioritizes profit over safety, buries harms, and keeps the public in the dark.

For over two decades, I’ve had a front-row seat to how this system truly operates—not the illusion of rigorous oversight we see in medical journals or glossy pharmaceutical ads, but the reality of how industry influence is woven into every stage.

I’ve met with regulators, testified before the FDA and Congress, filed a wrongful death and failure-to-warn lawsuit against Pfizer, and earned a seat on the FDA’s Psychopharmacologic Drugs Advisory Committee as a consumer representative.

I’ve also spoken at and participated in global conferences like Selling Sickness, Too Much Medicine, and the Harms in Medicine meeting in Erice, Italy—where some of the world’s leading experts acknowledge what few in mainstream medicine dare to say:

Our healthcare system isn’t about health—it’s about business.

And in this business, harm isn’t an accident. It’s built into the system.

The more I uncovered, the more I realized:

We aren’t just patients. We are customers.

And we are all trapped in Big Pharma’s spiderweb of influence.

The Spiderweb of Influence

The more I learned, the more I saw just how deeply embedded the pharmaceutical industry is—not just in drug development and marketing but in every corner of our healthcare system.

That’s why I created the Big Pharma Spider Web of Influence—to visually map out how the system is designed not to prioritize health but to sell sickness while minimizing, downplaying, or outright hiding harms.
