If Hamas wanted to end it, all they have to do is turn the hostages over to Israel.
At a minimum, that removes the pretense for Israel's bombing campaign. But they don't do that…because Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, etc etc all successfully use the Arabs of Judea & Gaza to agitate Israel, keeping their local populations focused on anything but their own governments.
