You know the chapter/verse numbers were added later right?
>If you die you go to heaven
The bible talks about three heavens. Also in Revelation those who die in the Lord rest from now onโฆ. what happened to those who died before? Why did Jesus tell them they testify against themselves when they testify about their ancestors?
Because words have multiple meanings and it doesn't say what they say it does, and many can't see the truth in it for fear.
"Before Abraham wasโฆ. I am"
What was your name before your current incarnation?
>Ask the Lord your God for a sign, whether in the deepest depths or in the highest heights.
A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but no sign will be given it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Jonah spend 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of a great fish. Not a whale, a fish.
Which heaven? And if you do, why does heaven pass away? The kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God are not the same thing.
As Jesus said, a wicked and adulterous generation ask for a sign, but no sign will be given, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
Many come with signs and wonders to deceive, Jesus came with Truth.
Just as Jonah was swallowed up, Jesus would spend 3 days in the heart of the earth.
Know any "fish" who might have swallowed up Jesus, right here on earth? As the two dressed in white said, why are you looking to the sky for him? Who was Dagon?
Anon, it's symbolism, not a literal fish.
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
It's symbolism.
As Jesus said โThe mystery of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those on the outside everything is expressed in parables, so that, โthey may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven.โโฏ"
When Jesus died on the cross, the "veil" was torn.
Why do people who say they believe in Him and are forgiven enjoy the thought of others burning in hell?
It's almost like some think if the simpson predicted it, it must be "ordained" to happen.
>"Hey remember that thing we're gonna do in 30 20 years? Yeah make sure you put that in the plotโฆ"
I've never understood why people enjoy the thought of it. Like even the most evil vile person, you really want them to burn for eternity for something they did in a ~80 year life? What happened to forgiveness?
While they certainly deserve to die in prison, what if you found out this isn't your first go around and it's something you did before? Would you still feel that way?
Why did Jesus tell them they testify against themselves when they testify against their ancestors, and if they do not forgive they will not be forgiven?
Jesus forgave people without requirements.
Levi were the priests, so the monster Leviathanโฆ.
I didn't say you deceive. You do tell people to ask for signs though, when Jesus said none would be given.
How would you know?
You ever wonder why bad things happen to people, could it be they did bad things to others and we're going through "growing pains"?
When Jesus sits on His throne is when power is returned to the people.
Ah but you forget, when the little girl was what you call dead, Jesus said she was not dead but asleep.
>"Can you pull in Leviathan with a hook or tie down his tongue with a rope? Can you put a cord through his nose or pierce his jaw with a hook?" (Job 41:1-2).
With God, anything is possible. We can tread on serpents.
You testify to what you believe, but as is written, they do not know what they so confidently affirm.
What do you think forgiven means?
A father disciplines one He loves.
If my kid steals from me I forgive them, but they're still gonna get punished.
When did I say He wasn't? I said when He sits on His throne.
Correct, but heaven and earth pass away, His words NEVER pass away.
To see the kingdom of God you must be born again. Forgive and you will be forgiven.
kek I like that.
>ou have to elevate yourself to Christ not the other way around.
In Revelation, God comes down and lives among the people.
Anon, who did Jesus say committed the greater sin?
Not the point. She was not dead but asleep. What you call death is not death.
Many.
I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: โBehold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. โHe will wipe away every tear from their eyes,โ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.โ
Jerusalem came down with God and God lives among the people.
The one who handed Him over committed the greater sin. No one took His life, HE gave it.
None were found worthy because they didn't believe they were worthy.
Does a good father want his children to blindly obey out of fear, or learn to make good decisions to do what's right?
