Zardoz (1974) is a surreal sci-fi film directed by John Boorman. The film spirals into a chaotic climax as Zed’s presence sparks rebellion, leading to the collapse of the Vortex’s order. He destroys the Tabernacle, ending the Eternals’ immortality, and escapes with Consuella as the Vortex falls to invading Brutals. In a cryptic epilogue, Zed and Consuella age naturally, suggesting a return to humanity’s primal cycle.
