WASHINGTON, April 7 (Reuters) - U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield, who holds a senior position in NATO, has been fired as part of what appears to be an expanding national security purge of top officials by the Trump administration, three sources told Reuters on Monday.
The information was not immediately confirmed by the Pentagon. However, the sources told Reuters that allies had been notified that Chatfield had been removed from her job.

BUSTED🚨: Eight people, seven of whom are Florida residents, have been busted in an international child pornography ring.
Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the arrests on Monday morning and described the content as "truly heinous."
"If you are a child predator, I hope you never see the sun again, and I hope you certainly never have access to kids again," he continued.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement Commissioner Mark Glass said that their investigation began in July of 2024, with agents checking the internet for people who sell and distribute child pornography.
Glass said that in the investigation, an undercover agent found a website that had led them to uncover over one million videos depicting sexual abuse of minors, some as young as infants.
Rita Peters, who leads the prosecution efforts, said that the children depicted in the videos and photos are children whose names are in the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and are victims of human trafficking.
Law enforcement began sending subpoenas to multiple companies to gather a paper trail, through this they were able to identify their main distributer as Mehmet Berk Bozuyuk, from Turkey.
Furthermore, they determined that the main site that Mehmet used was called "printedpicsDOTcom," which FDLE seized and shut down.
Peters said that after this website was shut down, they had global agencies, such as one from England, thanking them for shutting it down due to it being such a problem.

America's newest weapon of mass destruction is going into production seven months ahead of schedule as fears of a war with China continue to grow.
Scientists at Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico are kickstarting development of the B61-13, a nuclear 'gravity bomb' that was originally slated to go into production for the US Air Force in 2026.
Gravity bombs are literally what they sound like, a bomb dropped from a military plane which lets gravity do all the work.
The timeline was moved up due to the 'critical challenge and urgent need' for a new nuclear deterrent - a threat that's hopefully big enough to discourage America's enemies from attacking first.
The B61-13 is 24 times more powerful than the atom bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan in 1945. That first atom bomb, called 'Little Boy,' had a yield of about 15 kilotons - the explosive equivalent of 15,000 tons of TNT.
The B61-13, on the other hand, is designed to have a yield of around 360 kilotons, or 360,000 tons of TNT.

“We have not changed, if you noticed, our core values on our website,” stated John Nicklow, President of Florida Institute of Technology, in a secretly recorded board meeting provided to O’Keefe Media Group by a source. In the recording, Nicklow speaks candidly with faculty and administrators about the need to modify language in public-facing documents and course catalogs to avoid becoming a target for state and federal defunding efforts. “We are going to do what we do, let’s not unnecessarily put a target on our back,” Nicklow furthered.
Nicklow described direct pressure from Governor Ron DeSantis’ administration, revealing, “These people are just looking for words, okay?” referencing how language about “gender expression” on a Title IX page drew attention from Gov. Desantis.
“If it then hits NSF [National Science Foundation], we lose millions of dollars,” he warned staff and educators, noting that the legislation extends to the university’s ability to secure federally funded research grants. “We are seeing specific projects being pulled… because they had the words in executive summary of ‘climate change.’” His recommendation: “If you word it as surveillance and defense, it will probably get funded.”
Nicklow didn’t hold back in his assessment of driving political efforts, stating, “They are not smart people,” adding, “They are simply searching, whatever comes back on [the] web, searching without understanding.”
Despite the warnings, Nicklow maintained support for educators, “You’re not going to get fired for teaching those [DEI] courses,” assuring faculty that the university’s General Counsel would back them if issues arose.
Nicklow recalled conversations with legislators, claiming, “They didn’t know that overhead keeps the lights on.” “I had frank conversations with our congressmen, and they had no idea,” he said.
When questioned about how to navigate the changing environment, he concluded: “Well, you don’t get to pick and choose which parts of diversity community you support and which you don't. My advice is, be mindful of words.”

Siemens plans to invest $285 million in manufacturing in the United States, the tech company said Thursday, including two new facilities in California and Texas.
The U.S. is the largest market for the company. The recent investments in the Siemens’ U.S. manufacturing footprint and the planned acquisition of Altair, a Michigan-based software company, mark more than $10 billion in investment in the U.S.
