Cyclical Learning is what is done in the Public School System.
The same thing is taught year after year, with a little bit added on each year. So the slower kids can catch up to the rest of the class.
Mastery Learning is what was done in the One Room School House. No matter what age you were, 6 or 16, once you mastered something you went on to the next level. You didn't repeat the same thing you already knew over and over.
