the idea that you can't tell from a distance that an officer is having issues while they are doing their work, and you can't steer away from them and avoid their wrath, seems far fetched.
if you're in the crowd and the cops are dealing with truculent jerks causing problems, do you really sloganeer in their direction and make their job harder?
crowd control is a hard job, and the consequnences when things go wrong are rather severe. I avoid such crowds.
but if I were in such a crowd I'd differ to the law officers on duty when they direct me 'by the way, that is off limits' or 'don't go down that alley.'
there was a situatin where a bridge was out and the police had been stopping people randomly to 'check for drugs' as policy previously to that. Someone decided to just run through the road block probably not wanting to have the smell of crack be smelled by the officer.
the bridge wasn't there. the two people in the vehicle drowned in the river.
the policy of random drug checks at random midnight road blocks ended after that.
not much was reported on why.
you figure it out.
